Acts of the heart are everywhere, simply waiting for recognition. People who keep a promise or a secret, who share a dream, who return a smile, who listen to a child, or who go the second mile -- these are but a few of the kinds of people who lead with a good heart. The Hearty of Goodness joyously celebrates the gentle, kindly deeds of such people.
The Introduction starts out: "How delightful is the company of generous people, who over look trifles and keep their minds instinctively fixed on whatever is good and positive in the world about them." Is it any wonder that I pick this book up from time to time and always am so glad I took the time to become reacquainted with it?
This book is an amazing collection of thoughts and quotes from great thinkers and influencial people who have done great good in the world. Ms. Larsen has done a fascinating job gathering and presenting her material in very natural topics relating to living a good life. Her sources span the globe and centuries. This book is very inspiring to read and a great resource for preparing talks and public speaking. The challenge for us is to realize the good that we can bring to the world.
This is a good reminder. It's all the advice we have heard and a lot we haven't heard before about being good. It's a worthwhile read because of all the true stories and all the great quotes to make her point.
Took me quite a while to get through this book kind of like chicken soup for the soul books short stories and quotes about goodness in all shapes and sizes and by all names my daughter gifted me this book years ago and its been my bathroom reader
