SADIE, THE FIRST BOOK OF THE ALPHA SERIES

"Be my first last."

Sadie...

A beautiful girl with a selfless heart, Sadie Montague enjoys her time alone, reading in her apartment or working in the bookstore her father owns. Male attention is something she never expected, nor did she think she deserved it. When she finally goes out on the town with her girlfriends, she’s immediately taken with Ethan. She is drawn to him as he stares at her with a hungry expression. She isn’t the kind of girl he thinks she is and she tells him that repeatedly. It doesn’t make a difference. She already belongs to him. She never had a choice.

Ethan...

Monogamy isn’t on his list of exciting hobbies. On the town with a different girl every night, getting laid is always on his mind. When he meets Sadie, he completely changes. Her beauty and intelligent mind immediately capture him. He possesses her and controls her, but his usual dominance only pushes her away. Her sassy wit and strong attitude makes him step back. If he wants to keep her, he has to play this out in a different way. A successful business man and self-proclaimed bachelor, his life is turned upside down. Sadie will be his one way or another. She just needs to deal with it.

Three words:
No. Just...No.

This book is labeled book one of the "Alpha Series". Now, that caught my interest because reading caveman, possessive, über jealous, over the top alphas is my guilty pleasure. Everyone has their thing that they could read pretty much any day or night, and this is one of them for me. Was this guy an alpha that melted some panties? Nope. No melting over here. What would I label him?

Boy, was I misguided with my first impression of these characters. In the beginning of this book I had him labeled as this sweet, good looking guy that was treated unfairly by the heroine Sadie. It went a little something like this:

He approaches her in a bar while she's out with her friends and gives her a rose. He tells her that he wants to spend time with her, and get to know her better. Her response to everything out of his mouth is to accuse him of being a dirtbag who just wants to screw her because she's dressed slutty. which completely annoyed me, and had me shelving her with the other I-hate-this-chick-I want-to-slap-her heroines. Well, I still feel that way. But turns out she was actually right about that. God... this guy was a bonehead schmuck. In actuality, his hobbies include:

•Sleeping with every single chick in his office and dumping them immediately.
•Stringing along a woman who was in love with him and sleeping with her while giving her false hope.
•Meeting chicks in bars and having one night stands.

“Why were you so against relationships?”
“I don’t know. It just gets boring. I liked sleeping around. I didn’t ever sleep with the same women twice unless they were exceptional in bed. Those are the ones that I’d call for casual sex. One of them is in love with me, but I’ve never cared for her.”

Come to find out, when he approached Sadie, he just wanted to screw her like the rest:

When I saw you sitting in that bar, your beautiful legs showing and your tits popping out, I wanted to fuck your brains out, but as soon as I heard you open your mouth, I wanted to know everything about you.

Such a smooth talker, folks. And apparently, she has some magical, mystical vocal cords. She speaks, and he's smitten. Just from hearing her voice, suddenly he's obsessed and desperate to know her.

“I don’t do relationships because I don’t care about anyone but myself. But with you, I feel completely different. You are everything to me, Sadie.

*throws up in mouth* I don't know about you, but this guy is the Prince Charming we all dream about meeting as a little girl. Amiright??

Ok, on to the sex. He even ruins THAT with his annoying self. Smoking hot, IT WAS NOT.

So. Sadie is a virgin and her initiation into sex was far from mind-blowing or sexy. He feels he needs to warn her beforehand:

“Sadie, this will probably hurt. Almost every girl that I’ve deflowered said it was painful and cried. Your expectations probably won’t be met.

Ok, three things wrong with that sentence...

1)DEFLOWERED? Are we living in the 1800's? Is he about to steal her honor and virtue??

2)Apparently he has a collection of girls whom he's thoughtfully"deflowered". Just what I'd want to hear to make me feel special when I'm about to give that to him.

3)She's not going to be satisfied. I repeat: She's not going to be satisfied.

Well, that would turn ME on!

Sample of the actual deed:

He already had a boner so he was ready to go. He crawled on top of me then leaned over me. First, he rubbed the area between my legs, making me wet. He inserted himself within me.

Could that be any more technical, boring, or non-descriptive?

After v-card was turned in:

"I just hate causing you pain. I usually enjoy taking women’s virginities. With you, I just feel like an asshole. Seeing you in pain makes me want to cry.”

He enjoys taking women's virginities? Seems like he needs a new hobby, if you ask me.

And lastly, Sadie was no winner either. When she wasn't downing herself about how "ordinary", "nothing special" and "average" she was, she was berating him for no reason, trusting this manwhore not to cheat on her, or letting him have sex with her without a condom repeatedly and letting him just "pull out". I tried and trusted birth control method, as EVERYONE knows. *sarcastic side eye*.

So they fell obsessively, madly in love within a couple of days and their only conflicts were his past whoring ways and his jealousy over a friend of her brothers who is in love with her.

I did not connect with the writing, the characters, or the plot. I don't really know why I finished it, I guess I was just hoping that I could find some redeeming character traits in one of them but sadly it didn't happen. I don't often write a rant review, but this book pushed every button I have and invented new ones. Sometimes, you just have to let it all out.

Some times I don't understand some authors...
I get you want to sell the story, you want us to love the characters and, hopefully, fall in love with them.
But, why would you make such a weak, immature and childish heroine?
It started out interesting, the plot wasn't so bad, and I could see myself liking Ethan. But, why would the author make her fall in love with Ethan so quickly? Surely, she couldn't fall in love with him in five short chapters! But she did and when they finally declare their love for each other, it was so...empty. The way they say it to each other might as well have been a good morning.

Sadie, what can I say about her? Sadly, she's our heroine.
She's insecure about her looks, believes she's plain and ordinary even though everyone around her believes she's gorgeous. You see where I am going? She's clingy too and annoyed the crap out of me.

For someone as innocent as Sadie, who repeatedly said in the beginning she didn't want to have sex with Ethan, she sure wanted to have sex on the second date and what was more ironic was that Ethan was the one who kept putting a stop to it saying, "you're not ready"

After five short chapters, she declares she's in love with Ethan. I don't think it was love but more like lust. He made her hot and bothered and she counted that as love.
For the life of me, I couldn't believe the way she had fallen for him. What had he done or said that made her so madly in love? Gah. I was so mad because this book had potential.
Through her brother, Sadie finds out Ethan is love 'me and leave 'me kinda guy and despite the warnings, she doesn't care and jumps to bed with Ethan. very virginal of her.
Spoiler-

“I’m not going to wear a condom. I don’t want your first time to be with one. I want it to be all me. I swear I’m clean and I’ll pull out.”
“Okay.” I didn’t really care at that point. I just wanted to feel Ethan inside me.

Very smart, Sadie. Someone you've met for four days and already having unprotected sex.

Ethan, Ethan, Ethan. Our hero. He sounded a bit immature for my taste, a bit whiny and he is suppose to be an alpha/ possessive male. He basically does that Sadie says so he won't lose her. Whenever Sadie feels that Ethan has trespassed some imaginary line then she threatens him to break up.
Sadie to Ethan when he asks about the bar she's going with her friends,
“I can go out with my friends whenever I want and you can just shut the fuck up and deal with it. You will trust me. Either you do, or were over.”

For a womanizer, Ethan surely came off as weak and gullible. Too bad because I like my male independent and strong.
The sex scenes are okay. Explicit so I wouldn't rate it New Adult, perhaps Erotic romance? Still, they couldn't make up for the bad dialogue, or the characters.

Spoiler-
Ethan and Sadie are about to have sex for the first time and this is what he says,
“Sadie, this will probably hurt. Almost every girl that I’ve deflowered said it was painful and cried. Your expectations probably won’t be met"

Ah what did he say? How many have you had exactly?

They don't even finish because it's painful for Sadie and she asks him why he didn't orgasm.
Here is what he says,
“I usually enjoy taking women’s virginities. With you, I just feel like an asshole. Seeing you in pain makes me want to cry.”

WTF.

Alex- Sadie's brother best friend. He's been in love with Sadie for the longest time but she doesn't want him. He begs for her attention and she's constantly kicking him to the curb.
She's a bitch to him but there he goes following her like a lost puppy. Why would any man put up with that? Regardless of how much you love a person, there's something called dignity.
At times it seemed unnecessary to have Alex. What was the point of his character? Yes, he's pinning after Sadie so that's suppose to make her desirable? Well, it didn't help Sadie's character at all, it only made her look more like a bitch.

Then we are introduced to Elisa, Ethan's sister. She's a widow with two children. She's gorgeous of course and, if Sadie was gay she'd into her. Sadie's words.
Anyway, Jared is falling hard for Elisa after seeing her ONE time. Gah, everyone falls in love in this book. I get you want to give us a HEA but can you make a little more believable?

This was a really quick read. Though I don't think the male lead in this book, Ethan, was a full out alpha. This story was not so bad. When you get past the need that this book has for some editing, I would say that E.L. Todd does have an innate ability to get you involved in the world of her characters rather quickly. I just feel like I can always jump into any story she writes easily and not get bored.

Sadie, the main girl in this book, did have serious issues in seeing herself in the right light. That did get annoying after a while. And she was a bit judgmental even. I did like her relationship with her brother and father. I also liked her a bit better toward the end. She was more reasonable as a person and more firm in who she was.

Ethan, for me, had issues with being a bit possessive sometimes and I think that to the author being possessive is what being an Alpha guy is and though Alpha guys take charge, Ethan came off childish. After reading Kristen Ashley and seeing how she balances out her alpha men with toughness but a good heart, its hard to throw any alpha at me that acts like a caveman. That is not cute. What I did like about Ethan is that he was considerate of Sadie in the newness of their relationship and he wasnt selfish when it came to the pursuit of her dreams. He was also the best with sister and nephew and niece. He was indeed a great family guy. I also liked that he admitted that he acted like a dick in the past and a manwhore and that just because he was with Sadie and treating her well, it didnt mean that excused his past beahviour. Such honesty was really refreshing.

In the end, I thought this was a good start to the series. The characters weren't the most solid but if you want a quick story to get you distracted, this is your book. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in the series and seeing if Sadie's sister is able to open her heart up to Jared (Sadie's brother)- her story was quite tragic and im curious about its resolution.

My Rating: 3/5

I really struggled with this book, I read both the reviews and the sample before downloading and I really liked the idea of this book but to be honest it just didn't work for me at all.
It moved far too fast and wasn't remotely believable. On meeting Ethan, Sadie informs him that she's not interested, then she tells him that she's just not interested, then that she not having sex with him, she informs him that buying her a coffee won't get him sex either and so it continues, which would be fine a girl has to have principals after all but then in no time at all she's almost begging him for sex.
For me Ethan wasn't an alpha male he was a controlling jealous jerk and even when more positive things came to light about him I just couldn't bring myself to like him.
I also took issue with the writing style, bits I found creepy, really creepy. Now I'm not giving anything away by telling you they have sex and we know from the other review that she's a virgin so...the first time they have sex, she's a virgin and he says "Sadie, this will probably hurt. Almost every girl that I've deflowered said it was painful and cried." Ok now is it just me or is this not something you'd like to hear if you were in this position, so I'm thinking ok that's enough, stop talking but no he continues on "I usually enjoy taking women's virginities." Again not what you'd want to hear, Sadie is an inexperienced virgin who's in love with him does she really want her first time to involve him talking about other women, or any time for that matter.
On top of everything else it also needed editing, here's one example: Ethan pulled out of me then lied beside me.
So to conclude my longer than intended review I was very disappointed in this book, the male character wasn't "alpha" the female was too wishy washy, it felt rushed and unbelievable, needed editing and was very creepy in places and while it was written in the first person it occasionally wanders off into the third. I'm asking for a refund.

Sadie didn't have a lot of experience with men, but she knew a player when she saw one. When Ethan approaches her, Sadie is not wanting to be another notch but for some reason Ethan wants to take time to get to know one another. Sadie is falling fast but is having a problem trusting the newly changed Ethan, when she finds out who he truly was will she want anything to do with him.

So this was a so-so for me. I grappled with Ethan, he is a possessive jerk and while I love me a strong alpha man, he was a complete jerk about it and it surfaced a lot. It almost seemed like he didn't trust her. I also had a problem with virgin Sadie who is all shy and timid but turns into like a vamp instantly. Had a good base but it just fell a little short for me. That being said I may try it again and have a completely different perspective on it.

DNF @ 29 % and why well here are my thoughts to the book (usually I don't write a review with a DNF but this one time I just have to make an exception:

It started off really well and I downloaded a preview so that I was sure that I liked this book. I liked Sadie and Ethan was hot UNTIL Sadie constantly said that she wouldn't sleep with Ethan and then what like 4 days later she suddenly changes her mind and becomes too needy. I mean how can one go to being so strong and independent to being a needy mess and she can't live without the dude???

Now I knew that Ethan had slept around but what a man whore!!! And when Ethan and Sadie first had sex I talked about all the other cherries he popped and that didn't bother Sadie . Bah come on seriously???? That is where I gave up! So promising and yet such a disappointment.

Ugh...I hate doing this. I hate having to give a less then stellar review when it had so much potential.
This book was wrapped up in everything you love about a possessive alpha and a sweet virgin heroine.
It really did. It was all the inbetween and the way it was written that didn't fly for me.
It started out SUPER hot. Ethan and Sadie meeting at a bar....going on a date the next night. The chemistry, the alpha that is Ethan....the innocence that is Sadie all combined....shwew....sexy hot.
But then it was just....dry to me. Everything was almost clinical after that. I actually cringed and did not enjoy their first time together at all. I mean this is a romance novel, not a health book. Ugh...it was just...weird.
There were a few hot sex scenes after, but I just didn't understand the relationship of these two. I felt like I didn't get enough info on them other than what they thought about each other. For example, all I knew about Sadie is she's bored with her boring life, has no self confidence and fell in love with Ethan. And all I know about Ethan is he's making up for a past mistake that isn't his fault and taking care of his family. He's a player who's never been in love and he is obsessed/loves Sadie.
With this knowledge of their characters the whole story plays out. The interactions between these two had me cringing at some points (not sex scenes other than the very first one) because they just would assume things and not talk first (ie..Sadie seeing Ethan with Elise, Alex's come-ons and weird turn of character).
I was kind of hoping, since everything else that makes a good alpha story is in this book, that there would be some danger. Like take Alex's love for Sadie to the next level kind of thing....but it didn't. Which is pretty much the whole story in my opinion...it was just out of reach of some great scenes. It would get moving and going good and then take two steps back because of something that was ridiculous.
Overall I was disappointed. I don't feel like Ethan was that great of an alpha, because when it really mattered, he fell flat. He fought the unimportant stuff with "mine, mine, mine" but folded like a lawn chair when it was time for him to actually prove the mine, mine, mine.
This is obviously, just my opinion. As I do recommend you read this book if you love an Alpha tale. You might find it's everything your looking for.

Let me start by saying i loved this book. This book is pretty fast paced and easy to read. It draws you in from the very beginning. most might say that the beginning was too fast but i loved it. I hate to wait for a book to jump into the story.

First off lets talk about sadie. In the beginning, she annoyed the hell out of me. I couldn't stand her character. She wasn't confident, always doubting herself, but had balls to put someone in their place. (meaning ethan ha-ha). But as the book went on she changed. I liked her, even though she moved very fast with her feelings.

On to Ethan. He was the hot, confident, sexy man that always gets his way. You always have to have that guy in a alpha series. I actually liked this character. Yes he has his crazy moments, where your thinking "this guy is nuts, leave him Sadie now!!" then you go back to loving him. If you don't agree then you don't like dominant men even though he is a little controlling. As the story goes on you see the loving, protective, caring man. Now how can you turn that kind of man away.

Now put those two together, wow that is some drama. But it always works out. They care to much to not try and work it out. They are happy, to fighting, to making up, then repeat. But it makes the story line work.

I didn't want to put this book down. I read it in a day. It was great. Yes in every book, there is a spot where you just don't agree with story. But then you move past it. I liked the story line, the pull between sadie and ethan, the conflicts.

I hated sadie's friends. I loved sadie's brother and dad. I loved ethan's family. I cant wait for the next book in the series. I'm anxious and excited to read it.

Originally read 12/4/13

This was a really quick, super sweet, super interest-keeping story! The only things keeping it from 5+ stars were editing mistakes (a couple brief lapses into 3rd person when the story is told in 1st person and the normal misplaced/missing word popped up a bit), a couple of the sex scenes seemed forced (not like, forced sex! like, i wasn't feeling the flow of the scene), and the angsty fighting was a tad too much.

None of these things detracted from my interest - I was mainly reading on my computer, but had to download it on my phone while at work so I could continue reading on my break, and then I did NOT want to go back into work! Sadie & Ethan's relationship is for the most part very well written, and very believable as far as how they interact w/ one another. The supporting characters (Sadie's brother, Ethan's family, etc.) are interesting & I want to learn more about them!

And my favorite part - the epilogue. Sometimes that can be the hardest part to pull off, but this was a BEAUTIFUL and swoon-worthy epilogue. Now I need to see about getting Elisa...

(I received a copy of the story from the author w/ the request for an honest review, and I'm happy that I enjoyed it!!)

What Tom Frank (wtf) was that?

I wouldn't recommend this to a prison inmate. Actually, the more I think about it I would. This could be used as some sort of daily torture.

There wasn't a story however it was filled with constant conversation. I didn't connect to the characters and you never really got to know the hero. The musings were juvenile at best almost like it was written for young adults or teens.

During my punishment stage (reading the book) I had a thought. Those that gave the book 5 or 4 stars should meet the 2 or below reviewers and fight. Like a caged ultimate mixed martial arts fight. And as angry as this (stupid book) made me I believe we would win within seconds of round one.

I also wish Amazon allowed you to block certain authors because this one would make my personal list. Maybe the author will get better or has gotten better but I know I'm over this book and wish to read nothing even remotely similar by the author.

For a second, I even contemplated to quit reading. Yep, this story will make you doubt your love of reading.

So this book.........hmm. I really dont know what to say. It was just.....IDK. I read like 20% of it then skimmed the rest.

The h meets the H in a bar "dressed sluty" with her friends and take him with her to her house to change so they can have coffee. (she just meets him and bring him back to her place) So after telling him like 30 times how she not gonna sleep with him and how not Pretty she is(why would he want her?) the next day she begging for him to do her ;). And trying to do it with out protection. WTF!

Oh, and the way they talk. OMG just wrong.

Sadie’s friends are always on her about not socializing enough or picking up boyfriends. While discussing this at a bar, Ethan strolls over and inserts himself into her life. They date.

There is not a major conflict or plot line to this story. It wasn’t exactly romantic, but sometimes the sex was a little erotic. It felt very, I don’t know, plain. Not good but not too bad either.

Ethan is sort of a more realistic alfalfa male archetype. He appears to have problems with controlling his anger and he’s possessive/jealous. However, he also cares about the people in his life a lot. He’s a working-class guy also. There’s nothing very notable about Sadie, though. She is attractive but has a lower self-esteem for unexplained reasons. She has dated a bit but remains inexperienced. She seems to be a little... almost resentful of the people in her life. I’m not saying she’s cruel, but I just wouldn’t describe her as nice to others.

Safety information: Sadie is a virgin, but Ethan slept around a lot. Neither have been in love before. A bit of other man/other woman drama because people are attracted to Sadie and Ethan, but there’s no cheating or anything.

I wouldn’t keep this on my shelf because it wasn’t memorable enough to inspire me to reread it later. I would recommend it to someone who liked the cliché alfalfa male deal and wanted something very, very simple to read between books.

ARC kindly provided to me by the author for an honest review.

*spoilers ahead, because I just can't contain it all inside*

OK, so, this book started off with an interesting love story, two intriguing protagonists and lots of drama and emotion. I kinda liked it.
I really LOVED it when I found out about Ethan's sister, Elisa, and what he had done for her family. Wonderful! A guy like that is a treasure.

This quote had me swooning like a damsel in love: <<“But this is the best I’ve ever had.” My eyes softened. “How is that possible?” “I don’t know, but it is. I can barely control myself when I’m with you. You have taken my heart, Sadie. I’m helpless in your embrace.”>> Awww... so cute.

However, the bright side of the novel ends here. And this is what made me give it a 2-star rating.

The really nasty parts are Ethan's manly manliness, if you get my drift, his overly exaggerated and kinda pathetic jealousy, his favorite line in the world "You're mine" or "You're mine forever", which make me want to just punch him in the balls and, why not, his plain obsession with Sadie.

Oh, Sadie, what EVER am I going to do with you?.. you're a disgrace to the female sex. You don't believe me? <<“And it would be dumber if I left you. It’s just a job, Ethan. There will be others.” He shook his head. “I can’t let you sacrifice your dream.” “You are my dream, Ethan. I want to marry you and have kids with you. It’s a different kind of dream, a better one.” (okay, fine, you just wanna be a desperate housewife. Never mind your 4.0 GPA and Ivy League university graduation diploma. Then why the f**k am I even reading your life story??!!)>>

Oh, God, and that scene in the bathroom stall!!(on the night when Sadie meets Ethan’s brothers) It's just debasing! ; what Ethan says is pretty cute, but his actions are just so gross, they made my stomach riot with disgust!

All in all, the first half of the book is definitely better than the second one. The story is more alert, things ACTUALLY happen. There's not much character development, if any, and I hated that. Ethan apparently changes at 360 degrees in just 1 month. What?! And Sadie turns from a virginal girl to a nymphomaniac in just 3 or 4 days. In fact, the second transformation I tend to believe, because people always change for the worse much faster than they are willing to change for the better. So that's that.

I don't regret reading it, as it had some interesting stuff in it, but it could have been so much better, with stronger and more well-countoured characters...

I was given this book in exchange for a review.

At first when I started reading I had high hopes for this book. I tried my best to read it to the very end but i failed, it failed in delivering anything that i would find enjoyable.

At the beginning Sadie was very like able and Ethan was also. It was very fast paced. They immediately started dating. There was a lot of sex in this book, it was very uncomfortable on my part. I didn't enjoy it at all. I really scanned over to get to the next point . There was a scene when Sadie was over Ethan's house and they had a "quickie" it wasn't even hot it was kind of gross. I like -_-
Ethan's "alpha" male persona was also very uncomfortable and really creepy. It wasn't even sexy when he would get jealous it was a turn off. Sadie was really annoying, I want to slap her for jumping to conclusions over nothing. What a bitch. She wasted a whole week on an assumption. it was childish and I really wanted to stop reading there.

Introducing Ethan's life blahblahblah, I really didn't care for the fact that Ethan was taking care of his sister in every way. I thought it was sweet but it took a lot away from Ethan and Sadie's relationship. He was all I need to take care of them so I can't plan a future.

I really tried to read the entire book but it was hard to keep my attention. There was a lot of potential to sway my opinion but it really fell short.

Every since my first introduction to the world of Alpha Males, I've been addicted! This story is no different! Ethan is your typical alpha male mixed with a bit of crazy. Nothing is given away in this review.

Ethan falls hard and fast for our heroine Sadie, and she does the same. But what I loved, was how she stood her ground and told him and to back off, which I think is great that she was not too naive. This story is very fast paced, a lot does happen in a short period of time. I will admit reading the first couple of chapters, I thought Ethan was shady, and I was just waiting for him to make a mistake, or to prove everyone right. I had my own ideas of what was going to happen, some did actually happen, others not as much as I thought would, but how they were explained was not what I thought it was going to be.

In the end it's your happy ending that you want.

I don't typically read a story with the intention of pointing out grammar errors as they don't really bother me, but some where obvious, the switch from Sadie's voice, to the second/third person, I did notice that a few times, but nonetheless, I enjoyed this first instalment.

I should add I received an advanced copy in turn for a honest review *

Horrible

If I could give zero stars I would. I seriously hate to give bad reviews because I understand being and author and writing a book is hard work. It is not my intention to mock the process or put anyone down but this book was just horrible. Sadie meets Ethan at a bar and it's insta love type deal, only she repeatedly tells him she isn't going to sleep with him or have sex with him. Sadie repeats this to him so much that it's over two chapters where she's telling him she isn't going to have sex with him. It's like ok, we get it. Your not gonna have sex. Then next thing you know, she's begging Ethan for sex the next day??? And she's a supposed virgin who's acting like a waton whore around him? And then when they do have sex Ethan talks about deflowering other women and how they didn't have as hard a time with it as Sadie does. And of course they are in love after four days of dating. The whole story is just weird and then we find out he is supporting his twin sister and her two kids because his sister's husband died three years ago so Sadie thought he was secretly married and cheating on her. I eventually stopped reading at 60% because this book is so ridiculous.

this was a quick read. one that i didn't really like.

i love reading books that are all about cavemen, possessive, über jealous, alpha males. it's one of my guilty pleasures. though i don't think the male lead in this book, Ethan, fit the criteria. i really struggled with this book! it moved far too fast, and wasn't remotely believable & interesting. plus the heroine in this story was too immature, weak & childish!

really glad this was for free on amazon, because i'd be seriously pissed off if i paid a dollar & got the story i did.

Don't you love a book where characters fall in love in a day, have the over-used bad boy meets shy plain girl scenario and have a completely childish relationship? Not to mention the fact that the 'novel' is full of spelling mistakes and bad grammar? No? Me either.
Awful.

Sadie was never good at dressing sexy and going bar hopping, and she certainly never expected to capture the attention of the sexiest guy ever. No matter how gorgeous and charming he was, she still stood rooted in her stance—that she was not having sex with him tonight. You go, girl!

But Ethan would not be deterred. Did he genuinely want to get to know her? But he wouldn’t give up easily, no matter how much Sadie was fighting him. He was the stubborn, powerful alpha male. He was going to be inside her one way or another. Wow. He wants more? That’s why he refused to sleep with her when she offered the first time.

He really tries to romance her with basic talk and hand holding. He’s definitely possessive and controlling, which I did not like. Ethan seemed too good to be true that it made me suspicious and wary of him, especially with his sudden outbursts that came out of nowhere. Was he a nut? He was a gentlemen one minute and psychotic the next. That’s a bad combo, man. Story was ok—hot and sweet—but I didn’t really like the characters. They were both total nut jobs (Ethan with his mood swings and Sadie acting all caliente.) Story had too many typos and constantly shifted from 1st to 3rd person narrative.

WTF
Can’t stand guys who say on the second date she is mine while she is just talking to a friend.
That’s not romantic or alpha behavior but controlling asshole behavior
Almost every girl I deflowered said it was painful and cried……….. is he v-card collecter or something?
How many virgin did he fuck?
He tells her that he usually enjoys taking women’s virginity.
That is the top of romantic talk in bed while just taken her virginity………. Disgusting
And no condom because he is clean and will pull out.
That’s just gross.
She just found out he has is a manwhore and thinks that is okay and safe.
Her saying no to sex the next page just begging for sex.
He being nice and sweet the next page an asshole.
The sex scenes are very clean and clinical written.
No romance at all between them,
And they have the talk about safety after they have sex again because it’s so safe to just pull out.
The ridiculous thought about that makes me sick.
In what century do we live in when you go the doctor for birth control and you feel like a whore because he knows you’re not married and have sex.
If that’s not judgmental on every women……
It’s very repetitive about her being insecure and plain.
He is just psycho

Disappointment

The synopsis sounded great and overall plot would have been fine, but a few things made me drop the whole book altogether. First, the author can't seem to remember whether or not the story is written in first or third person. There was a chapter where the POV just jumped in between sentences. Drove me crazy. The female lead seems to be a teenager, since all her sentences starts with 'uh'. And out of nowhere the heroine suddenly loves the hero even though there was nothing except lusty feelings preceding that. The hero also labels the hero 'exceptional' after meeting her once. The whole book was just a train wreck, and so is my review

. Sadie was very unsure of her looks and why he was with her and repeated that over and over until about 97% of the book. I have no idea why I even finished this book. Maybe its an ocd thing but man it was torture finishing it. It wasn't a cute alpha male love story it was a controlling jerk story.
