COUGAR - The Beginning
Imagine by saying 'Yes' to a marriage proposal from your soul mate and best friend you are catapulted into a world you’re ill prepared to enter. By entering this world you’re expected to adhere to its beliefs, customs and laws. In that world you learn Spirit Guides and Ancient Elders aren't imaginary but exceedingly real. That its possible to interact with them; that they can and do materialize and are able to speak in soft murmurs for your mind only or loud authoritive voices that can be heard over great distances. That the things of nightmares are just as real; evil does, in fact, exist and you are its target.
As evil’s target you learn that once your very young spirit has matured the Evil Ones will do everything possible to take it. For it to mature requires time and the strength of three exceedingly large, strong warriors. Tony Raven, Troy Roberts and Mitchel Koi have been charged by the Ancient Elders, to protect you and your spirit from everyone and everything. However, the only way they are able to supply their strength and for your spirit to accept it is for you to adhere to a particular law...the Tribal Marriage Law. You must, at some point, call to each and accept his promises to love, to protect and to provide for you and your children.
This is the world petite, feisty, some what innocent, city raised Melanie Nichols unwittingly entered when she agreed to marry Tony Raven, a Chippewa Warrior raised on the near by reservation. Though wishing to adhere to the new things she was learning and not wanting to be the cause of disruption with the Tribe Melanie is reluctant to enter into marriages with multiple men...as a good Catholic girl this definitely goes against how she was raised. After all isn't one man enough for any woman?
The Evil Ones, learning of and desiring the spirit which would prevent them from controlling Tony's tribe, send three minions in search of the holder. During their search the overly zealous minions leave a trail of destruction and devastation...a trail that leads to our unsuspecting Melanie. Deciding to ‘play’ before reporting their find, two of the minions ignore the order to 'locate only' and are abandoned by the Evil Ones, allowing their capture by the Ancient Elders. Her body brutally assaulted Melanie’s spirit and mind retreat to a place of safety.
Will Tony and the Guides save her and in time his Tribe? If her mind and spirit return will Tony succeed helping Melanie regain her memory, and will they have the life he envisioned?
