Whole series 3 STARS Honestly, this was such a shallow story, and Tsubaki just killed my life, with all her crying and indecisions. Kyouta was a complete ass during most of the manga. It made me mad that Tsubaki was the one suffering from jealousy, let Kyouta be jealous too! Though in saying that the last two volumes have been more about Tsubaki and her life, without involving Kyouta.
The ending to the manga was cute... I don't know, everything was quite.. bland? It is was an ok manga and I liked it to a degree.
(nota aparte: in carti si filme, desene si animeuri :)) )
4.0/5.0 I LOVED finishing this series after so many years. I was fourteen when I met this characters and I really liked it then, so it was so good to come back to this story and see how this one ends. I loved it.
I really love stories wherein the guy is a playboy and an ordinary girl will set him straight. Yup, I know haha. I love that cliche.
That's the reason why I settled to this story until I finished it in just 2 days! I actually love how their story started. This Kyouta guy is a real time jerk but he looks like Adonis!!!! Literally! And the girl, my, the transformation was amazing.
When the bet was off and they're already in a relationship, I have to say that I was a bit disappointed on how things are going so far. There's just so many petty misunderstandings, so many third parties and all those things in a teenage romances. But later on, I realized that those scenarios are somewhat true to life. So yep, I think it was not that bad afterall. And besides, I actually admire the fact that it covers what are mostly the things you'll encounter when you're in a relationship and I love how the two of them were able to solve them. It's not all flowers and butterflies and they have their own share of tears and heartbreak which makes it relatable to some.
And my! I love the HEA! The proposalwas definitely not like the previous stories I've read before so that was really a plus.
So yep, if you're looking for a good shojou manga, this one should be on your list ;)
Those are my thinkings after reading the whole series, not only about the last volume. English it's not my native language, so please forgive me if I commit some mistakes xD.
Well, I have to say that at the beginning I didn't like this story so much, the relationship seems too possessive and violent to me, and also involves some rapes and bullying. When I kept reading, I was liking more and more the main characters, and the relationship changes to a healthy one. I think that the parts I like more were the way that the insecurities and jealousy were treated, so natural, we all feel this sensations, it's good to see how it made Tsubaki feels, and how they fix that. The last five volumes are awesome, and the development of Tsubaki it's so great, the way that she discover her vocation and how she fights for it, so good.
Finally, this manga leave me with good sensations, I would recommend it if you like shojos without absurd missunderstandings.
Potrei leggere altre opere dell'autrice.
This story has so many ups and downs. The thing that bothers me is all the suffering Tsubaki gets, molested by almost everyone... she got out of drama and entered into another.... But I did enjoy the manga and the ending. It’s also a good story about self development.
Sometimes I felt pity for her but I also find her a little bit selfish at times. She is quite selfish... yet she didnt deserved anything bad that happened. And I also felt a little pity for Kyouta. He always but Tsubaki first even though she was the one always having trust issues with Kyouta.
But still I like how they developed as characters. Kyouta really got to be a better and happier person because of Tsubaki. Tsubaki got to be herself and found her dream and perused her dream and this is all thanks to Kyouta.

A consequência?
It was about 8 volumes longer than it needed to be. The plots of the drama were actually always good, but it was done so simply it felt like they were just making up more and more drama, and then they overcame in the blink of an eye. And then it somehow felt unresolved still after 15 volumes because they kept throwing things at them... unless you read the "extra" chapters, which really are the resolution. I think this could have been trimmed down as a whole, but still enjoyable.
Just a nice slice of life type of manga. Enjoy reading it but get irritated whenever the girl becomes egoistic. Thats a bit harsh knowing that its her first relationship but then the male lead is too sweet, I cant stop reading it. So i will just give it a 3.75 because of the ending and welp I love how passionate Kyouta is
¡No me quiero ir, Señor Stark!
Tsubaki a veces me desesperaba.
I had ambiguous feelings about this at first - there were plot twists that were not so pleasant. But my husband just said "It's manga" every time I complained. So I concentrated on drawings, personalities and situations that I found interesting and nice. And eventually I really liked this story!
First of all this may not be the most favourite manga of mine, but I do love it a lot. Well, I love all the mangas written and illustrated by Minami Kanan, especially if they have smut in their genres. She is just fabulous at drawing such things, and her main characters, guys especially are really big perverts, but that just makes them even more amazing. And you just can’t not fall in love with them. You’ll just drool all over your manga while reading.
There is only one word to describe this manga: best hardcore shoujo. Oh, those were two words, but well it’s an amazing shoujo manga. It starts with an absolutely unpopular girl and a popular boy falling in love with each other. Well, their relationship didn’t really start that smooth, both of them kind of hated each other in the beginning, they did have their reasons. Everything does start with a quite bad start, but very soon both of them find themselves deeply in love with each other. But will their love be enough to overcome what is waiting for them in the future? That’s up to you to find out.
The characters are amazing, especially their development. Both Tsubaki and Kyouta have a long way to go. And all their feelings are shown in this manga; their fears and their joys, their love and also their sorrow. The manga covers a really huge part of their lives. One of the best parts is when they break up so Tsubaki can find what she wants to do in the future. Manga focuses quite excessively on the future and that not all of us know what we want to do, as well as that we should follow our dreams, and we should fight for them and even stand up to our parents to make them understand that it is our lives, not theirs.
Now let me just explain one thing before I finish up here. This is something with their names. You might have a problem getting why they are called every time differently. In Japan using a person’s first name means you are very close to this somebody, so it is common that in mangas sometimes people call each other by their family names. So now back to my explanation. The heroine’s name is Tsubaki Shibano, while the hero’s name is Kyouta Tsubaki. Meaning Tsubaki for a girl is first name, while for a boy a surname. Hope, you will not be confused after reading this.
You will enjoy this manga a lot. It has everything. A lot of love, but quite a big portion of heartbreak too, nice humor and a lot of every day life problems. The characters are amazing. They impress you from the very first page and you don’t really want to put the manga down until you finish it. I hope you enjoy it to its fullest
Awal-awal baca lumayan suka sih, cuma kadang suka keganggu sama sikapnya Tsubaki yang kadang annoying :/ Lumayan suka sama Kyouta (eh bener ga sih namanya ini) tapi kadang bete juga terutama di awal-awal :/ dan nomor-nomor terakhir menurutku too much drama deh hahaha tapi lumayan lah endingnya :D
I've already finished the last chapters of Tsubaki and Kyouta's story and since there are 2 bonus chapters left after the final chapter (Chapter 97) I'll leave it as "currently reading" for now until I get to read those. It got a great ending and it was that kind of ending I wanted for my favorite couple. Love them <3 They find their own path for the future and support each other for success. It's wonderful too see this kind of relationship.
14/1-13: Turns out those 2 bonus chapter is some sort of epilogue that deals with that hairdresser issue about coming in between Tsubaki and Kyouta. I just read one of them and Tsubaki is going to celebrate Kyuota's birthday and she will finally end her three year present plan with the planetarium. But a girl was in Kyuota's apartment and he didn't handle it that good so that hairdresser guy sees his opportunity to come between them. BUT I have faith in my favorite couple and believe that they will find a way back to each other and that hairdresser guy can got to h*ll.
13/2-14: I just knew that that hairdresser guy can't get between them and they resolved their problem. Had one steamy scene that was very sweet and I loved the epilogue where they married each other. Tsubaki also had some news to announce: y she is pregnant! Really loved this manga and it got an perfect ending which I super love!!!
I became so emotional reading this final volume. Here i am in my 2nd year of uni finishing it when i remember starting reading it during middle school. Oh god :'(
Yes it was frustrating a lot, lot of times -even if we do not consider the cultural difference, there is still a lot of frustration happening- but i nonetheless got so attached to them :( and i think their dialogues and how the problems were solved was really good and interesting to read.
And like any other story in life, the part where the heroine is confused about their future is so entertaining to me. It is also so shoujo let's not forget that. im pretty sure i wouldn't have appreciated it the same way if i were to read it any earlier than now so im glad for my manga hiatus in the last 3 years or so.
Ehm, the reading starting date is very roughly estimated.

Overall rating for the manga series: 1.5 stars. The extra .5 star is for Kyouta who actually changed in the course of the series. I think I wasted my time reading this and I finished it just for the sake of finishing it because the story infuriates me like no other. Especially in the beginning. The male MC is jerk and the female MC is so frakin' annoying! And the situations they're in and how they responded to whatever is happening are irritating. I keep hoping that it will get better because how did this manga become so popular if the story is like this? This type of shoujo manga is the worst. In the end though, Kyouta did change but Tsubaki is beyond hope. She's still annoying as ever. I really wish I wouldn't meet someone like her.
I'm so curious about the comic version of this story, 'Kyou, Koi Wo Hajimemasu'. Because I just love the movie version so much. Actually the story is so common, but this one is awesome. I love the story about Tsubaki Kyouta and Hibino Tsubaki. Their love story is so cute and sweet. They through everything together. Even though there are a lot things happen to separate them, they still hold each other and make it as their way to be closer than before. I read 15 volume in 5 days and it's really a page turner! I can't stop read the story till it's the end. And one thing that make me more happy is that the story end when Kyouta and Tsubaki already married and will have a child. Also, after married, Hibino Tsubaki's name change to Tsubaki Tsubaki and it's really cute~
This is a far as I get in this series so this rating is 4 the whole series.
mmm I haven't finish this one, I'm not quite sure if the final chapter is already published or not, but I do remembe that everything was good, funny and sexy until the last few volumes from 10 onwards, I think, kinf of make it a bit heavy to keep reading it. But it's a lovelyy story about the first love!
