We finally get to see some of Tou! Ouki's right-hand man, someone obviously strong who has never had his own moment to shine (until now). I also like how much of this volume focuses on the 'young generation' with not only Shin, Mouten, and Ouhon, but the Chu youngsters too! Lots of build-up so far where this is a big once-in-a-lifetime sort of battle that can come with plenty of renown and reward... but is also risky as hell. We even get a good moment between Mouten and Moubu, along with various moments with other generals (on both sides), where the 'old guard' are getting called into question and requiring support of these young talents.
