5++++++ GIVE ME A MINUTE NOIR HAS DONE IT AGAIN STARS!!!
I am sitting here and my mind is blown!!! Miss Noir has wowed me again, this series just keeps getting better and better!!! Adriana Noir's writing is dark, gritty, it draws you in. Take no prisoners! That's her writing style! I am a proud minion!!!
SKALS. That one word/acronym should have you quaking in your boots, they're fast and lethal. You don't mess with them, they will take you down and they won't hold back. A group of men, lethal machines, trained using the most harsh and brutal methods. Once you're in there's no turning back.
Sebastian Baas. Love the man, he isn't perfect and he knows it! His job turns him into a cold and heartless man, there is know going to far. He does whatever it takes to finish the job and he does it well! Now I've read many books with anti-heroes and I always have one problem. The character does a complete 180 halfway through the book, he becomes this caring character with a conscious, not that Sebby doesn't care for Taylor. But it's he's own brand of love, it's deep and you can't question it.
Miss Noir has written the perfect anti-hero, he's dangerous and flawed. But he's trying to change, he wants to change but it isn't always easy! Here's my point ladies and gentlemen: This gives the story credibility! And Miss Noir has done it! Don't make me like the character! I can make up my own mind! Thank you!
I think I'll quote out of the book for Taylor.
"There is strength in surrender"
There were never truer words! Taylor loves Sebastian, but sometimes his actions scare her, and yes she even thinks of leaving him too. But if you're like me and know Sebastian's character, you know that this will never happen! I love Taylor's character, she has balls! I don't think anyone could live her life and still be sane.
Final Thoughts
Sebby and Taylor's relationship has matured, I think they both understand each other better. Sebby has many enemies, who would like to destroy the life he has built with Taylor. His job is becoming a bigger threat to his personal life and I have a few theories on what he will do to fix this problem. By the way I will never go to a dinner hosted by Sebastian Baas! I just had to say that LMAO!!! Finally wow, that ending! Gaaaah!!! I need the next book right now!!!!

The worst thing?
Sebby and Taylor share once again a twisted and toxic relationship that makes sense and for me is a facade for deep emotions. Broken and abused Seb holds the reins with absolute control and he won't allow slips and errors.
“You seem to move quite well considering how often you keep edging your toes up to the line. Do you need a reminder of what happens when you decide to cross it?”
“Til’ death do us part?” His handsome face softened beneath a warm smile. “Even then, I will find a way to be with you, darling. It’s always going to be you and me, Taylor. Always.”

Andriana Noir weaves a complex tale of family loyalty, love and secret agencies. Complex, multidimensional characters that stay true to themselves and they scare you with their intensity. Emotional and suspenseful, darkly erotic and arousing this book is for me the best so far.
You will be drawn like a moth to the flame until the heart-stopping finale and..... PLEASE, WHEN IS THE NEXT ONE OUT????

Adrianna Noir has created yet another masterpiece! This series just keeps getting better, and I'm hooked! It is raw,dark, and gritty; and has you questioning the fine line between right and wrong. The last half of this book had the tension and suspense ramped up so high, I didn't want to stop reading for anyone or anything. I was so engrossed in the story, my stomach is still in knots and I am so wishing that book #4 was already out! This series is not for the faint of heart. There are scenes that will leave you quivering in your boots. I do like how Ms. Noir writes a balance of good and bad. There are scenes that make me sick, and then others that melt my heart. I have never read a book that has taking me on such an interesting emotional journey that one minute I am laughing, and the next I am in tears. These books have it all, from action, sex, violence, and even romance.
Book 3 gives us the after math of Sebastian almost losing his life, and Taylor being captured and attacked. Sebastian is at a huge crossroads in his life. Will SKALS turn him into the evil beast that most think he is, or will love conqer all and have him fight to stay human for Taylor? There are secrets coming to light regarding SKALS, and huge possible betrayals. Sebastian doesn't know who to trust, and he gets the feeling that someone is following him. He is frustrated because he isn't quite sure if he is feeling this way because of the attacks or if his instincts are kicking in and he really is in danger.
This time we get a glimpse of what his work life is really like, and just what kind of monster Marx (his boss) is. I have to say that Marx makes Sebastian look like a fairy Godmother in comparison. Marx is as evil and sadistic as they come, and I am petrified for Taylor's safety when it comes to this monster. He doesn't seem to like sharing Sebastian with Taylor, and he feels strongly that Sebastian is too distracted with her around. Having this boss on their radar is anything BUT good, and I can see that there are potential bad things to come. I sure understood Sebby's battle to keep his humanity in tact way more, now that I have been given some insight into Marx's character. Yes, Seb can be nasty when he is in a mood, and he has been abusive at times to Taylor..but it is nothing compared to what Marx would do if he ever got a hold of her. The conditioning that the SKALS members are put through is utter hell. It is basically torture at its finest, and it is no wonder that when Sebastian comes out of that it is hard for him to be a functioning person again. I believe that is exactly what Marx wants, and there is no stopping this vile creature when he has a bone to pick with someone.
There were some great scenes with Sebby and Taylor, and when things are going well for them it is like reading a fairy tale. Then Seb will get in a mood, and all of that changes in a heart beat; and out comes the belt and his aggression is taken out on Taylor. My heart bleeds for that woman, because truly there is no way out for her. She is in this for the long haul, and for the most part she seems to be happy to be there.
I have a love/hate relationship with Sebastian myself! When he says things like this to Taylor...
"Well, she is honest, gentle, and kind. She has a huge heart, but it's also the heart of a fighter, because no matter how rough things get, she refuses to give up on me. She makes me want to give her my best. Her smile alone is enough to brighten anyone's day."
How could you not love a guy like that? Unfortunately, that is just one side of him. The other side is one that I wouldn't want to meet, let alone be the focus of when he is a rage. Taylor deals with him and his mood swings quite well, even though at times she is terrified. Some people may think she is weak; but I think it makes her strong..She needs to have a spine of steel in order to deal with a man like that.
As you can tell, I am aborbed into this story whole heartedly. I feel like I know these people, and when I am reading one of these books, a train could run through my house and I wouldn't know it! I am hooked. The next installment is apparently the last one in the saga of Sebastian and Taylor. This saddens me, and yet I can't wait to read it! I have utter faith that Adriana Noir will write another blazing hot story! THis series is a MUST read for anyone who likes a bit of darkness to their books, you won't be disappointed!

Another Sexy,Edge of Your Seat Dark Ride
Adriana has done it again... I swear, each book in this series has got better each time and that's saying a hell of a lot considering the first book was freaking amazing! But she did it. Adriana has managed to create a character that has the ability to repulse and thrill you at the same time..To love him and then beat the shit out of him...To hold him and then run for your life for fear of punishment. I'm talking about Sebastian Bass. He's a trained killer who has a black heart; although with Taylor, we get to see glimpses of a softer side. He loves her crazy. And by crazy, I mean.. he's seriously OVER THE TOP POSSESSIVE and controlling and with Taylor it's a for sure "till death do us part" relationship. Not just because Seb would never let her live without him.. but SKALS would never allow her to leave either. It doesn't matter though.. Taylor loves him on the deepest most base level and would never leave.
This book picks up right where Bound by Vengeance left off. Seb's not sure who he can trust in SKALS anymore and he almost lost everything he loves. This one was the most suspenseful to me and I was so nervous throughout the entire book wondering how Seb was going to handle the situation with SKALS or if he'd even be able to. There's some serious baddies in play now and he has no idea who he can trust. If he doesn't figure it out soon he'll lose everything.
Adriana has quickly became one of my most favorite authors. I simply love her writing style and honestly, I've never read another author like her. The way she created Seb as this complete dark, possessive, obsessive, violent man has never changed from book one through now. We see occasional tender sides of him with Taylor, but even then he is still that same man. The type of violence he is capable of never lets up. Just when you think he's going to show perhaps a more "human" side and show some compassion..NOPE.. It's full out balls to the wall with Seb. I love that.. just f'king love that. I can honestly say, Sebastian is the most interesting character I've ever read. I adore everything about him no matter how fucked up he is.
I cannot wait for book 4 and I just hope Adriana is working on getting it in our hands pronto!
This is without a doubt a must read series.. it's dark, its suspenseful, its erotic, it's violent.. it's the whole package. It's just flat out awesome.

This is one of the best series I've ever read. Yes, it's brutal and sometimes tough to take but my Lord, the story is so gripping you just have to keep reading!
This is the continuing story of Sebastian and Tay, how they are coping after book 2, what Sebby will do to keep his family safe not only from the enemy but now his own team. He wants to be happy and build a life with Taylor..Will Marx let it happen? Will anyone survive the upheaval?
It's so hard to say what's actually going to happen, but the way Adri has set this book up we are in for a hell of a battle in book 4!!! CAN'T WAIT!!

This series......This book......smh, if you haven't started it yet you are definitely missing out on something here. It is pure GENIUS!!!
Edge of Obsession is the third book in the SKALS series. I have been beyond excited to read it and when Ms. Adriana Noir offered me an ARC I jumped on the opportunity. Once I started I could NOT put it down. OMG, it was AMAZING!!! EEK!!!
Sebby and Taylor are struggling to get over what happened to them in the previous book. Seb is on edge worried about Taylor, what he has got her into, and how he can still keep her. However, this isn't his biggest problem. Something huge is happening. He has his suspicions on who is behind everything, but he has to be able to prove it, and that is not an easy task. The harder he digs it seems the more questions he has, not to mention he's not completely sure on who he can trust and who he can't. The stress gets to him, plus some reconditioning. Taylor seems to take the brunt of it. She tries, as hard as she can but sometimes Sebastian's demands are more than she can keep up with.
"I lost my way, but I love you and nothing is ever going to make that change. No matter how much SKALS might rip away, some small part of me is always clinging to you. You are what keeps me breathing when I want to give in. You are what makes me fight to come back home."
I literally just could go on and on and on about this book. Seb is my favorite anti-hero right now. Don't go into this series thinking it is going to be heart and flowers, because you will be sorely disappointed. Seb is hard core. At times I wince and just want to look away because his punishments can be so extreme, but he explained that a little in this book and I understand now better where he is coming from and why he does the things he does. He can also be extremely caring and protective of Taylor, and I'll just say something happens in this book that I just knew was coming. I was a little shocked at the way Sebastian handled it, but not in a bad way.

Not only would she probably lose her life if she fled, or would take the ultimate punishment, she would lose Sebastian. And even though at times he can be terrifying, it would be horrible to lose him all the same. She literally has to walk on eggshells, but seems to be finding her way, if she can just get through this next test.....
Speaking of that, well, I can't spill anything about what I'm talking about her because it would definitely spoil, but for those who know what I'm talking about they'll understand what I'm saying here. When Sebastian finds out about what happened he is going to go apeshit crazy, and I pity the soul who steps in his way during that time,....and after when he goes for them. The ending killed me, I was sooo into it, sigh.....I NEED MORE!!! LOL!!!

Edge of Obsession is the third book in the SKALS series. I have been beyond excited to read it and when Ms. Adriana Noir offered me an ARC I jumped on the opportunity. Once I started I could NOT put it down. OMG, it was AMAZING!!! EEK!!!
Sebby and Taylor are struggling to get over what happened to them in the previous book. Seb is on edge worried about Taylor, what he has got her into, and how he can still keep her. However, this isn't his biggest problem. Something huge is happening. He has his suspicions on who is behind everything, but he has to be able to prove it, and that is not an easy task. The harder he digs it seems the more questions he has, not to mention he's not completely sure on who he can trust and who he can't. The stress gets to him, plus some reconditioning. Taylor seems to take the brunt of it. She tries, as hard as she can but sometimes Sebastian's demands are more than she can keep up with.
"I lost my way, but I love you and nothing is ever going to make that change. No matter how much SKALS might rip away, some small part of me is always clinging to you. You are what keeps me breathing when I want to give in. You are what makes me fight to come back home."
I literally just could go on and on and on about this book. Seb is my favorite anti-hero right now. Don't go into this series thinking it is going to be heart and flowers, because you will be sorely disappointed. Seb is hard core. At times I wince and just want to look away because his punishments can be so extreme, but he explained that a little in this book and I understand now better where he is coming from and why he does the things he does. He can also be extremely caring and protective of Taylor, and I'll just say something happens in this book that I just knew was coming. I was a little shocked at the way Sebastian handled it, but not in a bad way.

Sebastian let me start this by saying.....
Yup dinner at your place isn't something I will be attending anytime soon!
Lately I have been starting sequels by not expecting much!
HOWEVER THANK GOD FOR ADRIANA NOIR and her not turning Sebastian into all hearts and flowers kind of guy, as opposed to what we have seen of him in the first two books. It seems the norm lately to completely turn the male lead into a sniveling pussy-whipped character, yes I want him to love, protect and be loyal to the female lead but he doesn't need to lose any semblance of manhood in the process!
This book had me swooning one minute and horrified the next, this was exactly my reaction throughout but I'm not as cute!
Sebastian is so REAL, his actions and thoughts are exactly what we would and should expect from someone in his position. I love his flaws and vices which he is trying to change for the sake of his and Taylor's relationship. There is still cruelty in him that scares me but also a willingness to transform into the man Taylor needs.
TAYLOR I LOVED in this one!! Well all I can say she loves Sebby despite everything, she is loyal to him and determined to stay which is for the best as we know she cannot leave. I see growth and maturity in their relationship and would love to see what book 4 brings for the both of them!
On the SKALS front, things are not really going as Seb would want, he lost trust even in his closest allies, THERE ARE SOME REAL MESSED UP CHARACTERS IN THIS ONE THAT MAKE SEBBY LOOK LIKE A SAINT . CANNOT WAIT TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT.
So glad there is fourth book yay...

The last 5-10% actually gets a little interesting and what do you think happens??? Yep it ends on a cliffhanger. And at the end it says book 4 coming soon, can't find any information of when it's due.
Don't know why I'm upset haven't been in love with the story....scratch that I know why I'm upset because I haven't been in love with the story and when it finally gets interesting I'm left hanging for a story that probably could have been summed up in two books. Also disappointed because my dark and twisted needs were not met. And if Taylor whined "Sebby" one more time I thought I'd poke my own eyes out because rolling them every time was starting to give me a headache. But if I poked them out then I'd have to start buying audio books and let's face it the voices I hear in my head are much more entertaining. LOL
Well except for Taylor's because all I hear for her is a whiney shrill voice. She annoyed from the first book but I think she got whinier in this book. And the only reason I'm going to continue with the next one is because I want to find out what devious plan Marx is up to, he's what's keeping this interesting for me.

I missed you last book. But, you came back...
And it was AMAZING!
I rated the last book 3-stars, because I didn't like the changes made to Sebastian's personality. I get it that he fell in love, but BAH! Don't take away what made him so great in the first book. He was a watered down version of himself, and me no likey.
Needless to say, I was VERY happy to have him back in this book, and his dominant personality was on steroids. I loved it!
What I didn't like...
Irene...she was the worst!
I hated her. And her rudeness, and the way she talked, and how she was just nasty.
I've hated her every since she was introduced as Taylor's friend.
And, I hate Taylor for still hanging out with her. Sebastian clearly didn't like her, yet she still always wanted to have her around.
I don't get it. She was gross.
What I did like...
Sebastian! As always.
I loved him in the first book. Thought he got soft in the second book. And came back with a vengeance in this book. He finally starting putting Taylor back in her place. *Boooooo, Taylor* In his crazy, anti-hero, beast-mode way...
He is on to the things going on at SKALs .
There was loads of sexy-time!
And, yippie! Irene
Crazy? Yes.
Warranted? Totally.
How happy am I? Ecstatic!
It was all just peachy.
I cannot WAIT for the next book.

"Don't hurt me just so you can feel."So, Taylor finally grows a partial backbone. It's not that she's weak. It's that she has helped put herself in a motha-fuck of a situation. Yet, it is clear that she can draw strength from Sebby's crazy-obsessive love of her. Because seriously, the guy would be destroyed if Taylor somehow disappears.
“Stop fighting me,” he warned.
“Can you blame me?” she choked. “Look what you’re becoming, Sebby! Look at how you’re acting.
Before reading this installment, I was aware of the cliffhanger I would meet and I suspected that Sebastian's Correction Camp would soften, a bit. While reading though, crazy me, it felt a bit anti-climatic when Sebastian got creative with his punishment due to the fact that I couldn't distinguish between the "I love you, let me devour you" sex and the "let me put you into check" correction; where before, sexual "Sebby" was very different from Dominant & Dangerous Sebastian. In this story, they somehow merged.
However, the merging is somehow apropos because I think it's helping Sebastian "see" his predicament with the SKALS agency. He feels that everything he knew is no longer true and begins to distance himself from it, mentally and emotionally. He knows that something is there lurking, just waiting to burst his bubble wide open. And...it is!
And there's your cliffhanger, people!
I can't help but say the author should have finished it with this book. But I still hold out hope that book#4 will be good, so I'll read it.

After reading the first two books in the series, I thought that it would be good to read the third book also. I have to say that the series is getting better with the plot but I still can’t say that I am a big fan of the main characters.
The story continues after the events of the second book and now Sebastian is even more protective of Taylor. And the fact that he doesn’t know who to trust makes him scarier.
I keep thinking that Taylor doesn’t know what is good for her. She’s so young and she’s living with a very dangerous man. I was happy to see that he was less abusive in this book but only because she wasn’t feeling well. She wants to please him more than everything and I think that she’s losing herself. Also, I have a feeling that there is a mystery with her family, but I am not very sure.
Yes, I know that Sebastian is hot. But he’s irrational and abusive. Sometimes he’s so good with her but most of the time he’s a cold bastard. He’s like a robot. I know that he’s capable to love her but I don’t like his way at all.
Nevertheless, it’s a good story with very well-written plot and made me curious about the next book!

Sebby really needs a Xanax. I think I do to. I mean Taylor cant say anything w/o him over analysing and wanting to give her a whipping or spanking.
I keep remembering this scene in a John Wayne movie where he puts his wife over his knee and spanks her. I guess John Wayne knew the deal. I thought it was rather male chauvinestic of John Wayne but apparently his wife liked it. He got her back and she was smiling.. hum. Poor Taylor I don't think she likes it.
Im beginning to think the reason Sebby picked her is so he could mold her. She is scared of her own shadow. I hope she grows some balls. Id like to see her run away and him come after her and her not be scared. Yahay...

Edge of Obsession, my only criticism is it just filler for the next book. I liked that it was dark & angsty. I liked Sebastian dealing with darkness that is the SKALS organization. I liked Taylor. She gets pregnant. Had a feeling she was from the second book. I like Irene reaped what she sowed. Hey, I like vengeance!
It was shocking learning how diabolical Marx was. Well maybe not really. He has always been an evil b@$tard.
I look forward to seeing this series end. Hopefully on a happy note with an epilogue.

3 Controlling Stars!
I cannot say much about this book since the story had been going around in circles urgh... a whole book that is dedicated to this scene:
Sebastian went to work where sometimes he underwent the reconditioning cell, Taylor did something wrong that makes Sebastian pissed - yet again... Taylor get scared, says sorry, Sebastian can't let it pass and punished her for her wrongdoing and after that they have hot sex. Every. Time. It's like Sebastian never got home where Taylor didn't do anything wrong. Sometimes, I really wish for Taylor to do the unexpected just to get some thrill and action to this boring read.
Sebastian was given a new case which by the way was only a whiff in this story. Not only was this case pop minimally every now and then, more information about the case was revealed ONLY at the LAST CHAPTER of this book, which by the way is the MOST interesting part of the story.
Sebastian's finding about Taylor's condition was NOT a shocker to say the least, I already knew about it on book 1 or was it book 2? Can't remember exactly.
Stupid as it sounds, I'm still gonna read the last book despite my disappointment on this one. Hoping (again) that the last book would FINALLY be it.

wth...I'm flipping out! noooooo, damn cliffhanger, and a big one! I finally got myself emotionallly invested in Sebastian and I am left with my mouth hanging open...this girl here needs some closure!

I just really didn't like Taylor. She was a vapid simpleton. One dimensional. A complete moron. I felt Monique was just as bad and geez that Irene. UGH. Irene was almost worst. All three of them were just...pointless.
Very Cliche. Big bad dominant smart men with really meek mild mannered dumb weak young women. It is starting to wear on me. I cannot like any of the characters in this book.. Clearly Sebastian didn't learn anything from getting the shit kicked out of him or having "his woman" getting the shit kicked out of her. The intrigue part of the story was interesting. Kind of a suspense, who-done-it. Sebastian's Neanderthal bad assness at SKALS was over the top to the point of eye rolling. He just came across as a psycho dickhead.
It isn't the submissiveness of Taylor that bugged me. She is just an immature idiot who seems to not have any problem solving skill, or an honest thought in her head. She blames it on being Irish? Really? Ugh.
Again the writing style is what kept me reading, even when the characters almost made me want to give up. It is very difficult reading a book no matter how well written when I dislike the main characters.
I had started to skim through the sex scenes not only because they were redundantly repetitive, but Sebastian might as well been having sex with a blow up doll. Yeah, Taylor frayed my last nerve.

Anthony Rawlings WHO? I am on TEAM SEBBY!! Yes he is sinister cold and scary and knows how to snap some leather! With that being said- he is also loving caring giving and affectionate in his own "Sebby" way. I know people may think I need psychiatric care after saying this BUT I don't care!!

A little better than the previous book, but Taylor is still weak against Sebastian .
And again, the only one who keeps me glued to the story is Marx, the crazy scary psycho. The scenes with Irene are just ... O_O
Now i'm waiting for the last part with anxiety. A angry Sebastian is already scary , but what will be a Sebastian in a rage mode now that his family is on jeopardy , thanks to crazy scary psycho Marx!

3.5 STARS. Book 3 in the SKALS series. The continuing story of Sebastian and Taylor and the rest of the SKALS organization. I started really not liking Sebastian, but once again, he kinda had me pulling for him. Lots of drama and WTH moments and one heck of a cliff hanger. Bring on book 4 soon!

I know this is a dark read, but it felt more like domestic abuse how the hero would hit the heroine, but then tell her he loved her. I know that the hero is tortured in his job and "taught" to not feel, but it feels wrong.
Also, it is getting annoying how when one character says "are we clear" and the response is "crystal".
