The Ha’kan, an all-female race that reveres sexuality and views monogamy as unnatural, have been at war with the Tavinter for centuries. Queen Halla seeks to end this long-term dispute with the nomadic forest people by extending a unique offer to the Tavinter Chieftain. She invites his daughter, Skye, to attend the most prestigious school in all of the Sjöfn Academy.
Skye accepts the invitation and sets out with determination and trepidation. She does not know what to expect, for the Queen’s own daughter, Dallan, is but a few years older than her and will serve as her mentor at the Academy. Skye has only to meet the laughing dark eyes of the princess once before she realizes she is going to get far more of an education than she ever dreamed possible.
Gorgeous Amazon warriors, lots of foreplay and sexy time amongst the women... oh, and dragons, and more gorgeous warrior like the Dragon's Lover. This was freaking epic!
This could easily be a re-enactment of a fantastic dream of mine😃. Brain, brawn, lots of eroticism, numerous fascinating characters, great story telling and a good closure for an ending. I feel like I have just come through an hedonistic paradise read. And this is a series? Waoh what more could there be?
I really enjoyed the concept of the Hak’an society. A society full of women, where sex isn’t restricted past the age of consent, as long as, it consensual. They love freely and that love does not have to center around a sexual relationship, but often involves one of some sort. It doesn’t take Skye long to fit in and create long lasting relationships. It a learn experience for both the Hak’an and the Tavinter young woman. Each connection just as special and unique as the others. All of them centered on a deep love and a healthy sexual relationship. My heart broke for Dallan, Rika, Lifa, Kara, and Pip when tragedy strikes and Skye disappears, and the beautiful reunion after Skye is captured. Dallan says is best when she says, “When Skye left. everything was wrong. It felt like something has been taken from us. Now I feel as if we’re complete once more.” I greatly enjoyed getting to see Raine and Talan a couple of times as well. I love the history and folklore the author brings to life and weaves into the pages of each book. I can’t wait to see what’s next in book 3.

BEST BOOK EVER !!! I literally was so enthralled by this book i skipped all my chores and cleared all my schedule just to read it. Reread it for 5 times but still love it. Samantha Sabian is an excellent author, her books are well written, literally i would say no flaws here (flaws such as grammars or contradicted events/objects), even though i reread it 5 times. I especially love the polygamy, it really changed my point of view regarding monogamy. Skye the main character was beautified in a way that make me smiles so hard, it was so endearing to see how many people are enamored by her. I read all three books and i gotta say all of them are perfect, they keep you wanting for the next book. September 2014 the next book will come out and i will no doubt purchase the next one :D
I enjoyed the writing in this book, but I was quite disappointed in the plot as a whole, especially the lack of conflict, and that the only conflict which really appeared was resolved far too quickly. Where the previous book was a wonderful mix of erotica and adventure, this is far more erotica, with a little bit of fantasy tacked on the end. The 'antagonists' have no explanation for their actions other than simply being evil, and what should have been a slow reconciliation between the two main protagonists was extremely quick. There was a point where one protagonist basically rapes the other and its brushed away under the explanation that they both enjoyed it. Beyond those issues, the majority of the book takes place where one protagonist is in a foreign culture, but instead of meshing her culture, or showing any king of culture shock, she basically assimilates entirely. I'll read the next book in hope that it is written similarly to the original, but this definitely a disappointment overall.
This is my favorite series of all time, and this—this is my favorite book of all time. Read it and fall head over heels, weep, then brace yourself to do it six more times over.
Takes a while but does follow on from #1 although it is a little awkward (in fairness it may be because I left it too long between the two books) This book does edge more towards erotica than #1 but there is enough of a story to prevent it falling over the edge. Maybe a little too light on the character and world building which is why I could not give it five stars and possibly 4 was a little generous The author is a good writer with a good command of the language and I am interested to seee where she takes these chronicles
Let me be honest, I reread the entire Chronicles of Arianthem I about 7 times and counting. After all, The Chronicles of Arianthem II is in my queue but I gotta refresh my mind on all the details for the newest book.
Took me on the 3rd reading to know that Skye mother was Isolde :). No more spoiler alert.
Absolutely fabulous fantasy Novel! My favorite book of the series. Love the world Samantha has created and love reading and re -reading this series and also listening to it as well in audible. Please read. So well written and great story!
I LOVED IT.💖 Excellent writing that is captivating throughout and deliciously spicy.🌶 I am so in love with this series, I bought the audiobook. The cover pic makes so much sense and it's brilliant, such a fun story. I definitely recommend this exciting fantasy. 💯
I loved the author's creation of a truly new world. If you like strong women, lesbian love, and science fiction this is a great book for you!! My only criticism is that I wish the first book and this one had more of a connection also we were left with openings that I hope will be tied up in the next book! That being said I couldn't put it down and eagerly await the next book!
I was concerned for Skye at first since she was considered too young for serial activities however it turned out okay with the Priestesses. I wonder if there is something in her that draws others since she seemed so irresistible. I love her character because even though she excelled at so much she was still so humble. What a wonderful person and great friend.
