With only twelve days left until Christmas, the chaotic countdown begins as everyone hustles and bustles about to put the decorations in their perfect place, trim the tree just right, and get ready for the big day of celebration.

This book was the Indianapolis Public Library's Call-A-Holiday story last week, but even hearing it (without being able to see the illustrations), I thought it was sweet.
Cute enough, and relatable for children to update a classic holiday song into something they will understand.
When my son chose this one from the Christmas shelf at the library, it looked cute. When I started to read it to him, I tried to sing it to the traditional melody. But the canter of the words for this modern, updated version didn't quite fit the melody and was a little tough to sing to. And I really didn't understand why each additional day's gifts made the tree grow bigger and the surrounding environment change to the North Pole, I'm guessing. It was okay, but I probably won't be recommending it.
I was able to read this book with my daughter all while singing the words to the tune of "The Twelve Days of Christmas" and my daughter started to sing along with me, even though she didn't know all the words! It's a cute book. Not the best, but definitely not the worst.
