New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Roxanne St. Claire has been enchanting readers with stories set on an idyllic slice of paradise off the coast of Florida known as Barefoot Bay for two years. In the first Barefoot Bay series, four friends joined forces to build and run a homegrown resort and spa and, in the process, found life-long love.

Now it is time to get to know some of the special guests of Casa Blanca Resort & Spa, which is fast turning into a playground for the rich and an elite destination wedding site. In the brand new Billionaires of Barefoot Bay trilogy, meet a trio of sexy heroes and the most unlikely ladies who steal their hearts in three novella-length (appx. 150 pages) love stories.

In Secrets on the Sand, Zeke Nicholas has turned his mathematical genius skills into a mountain of money. But Zeke sits on that mountain all alone, longing for the one thing money cannot buy: a lifelong partner and true love. Zeke grew up near Barefoot Bay and is staying at the resort for a week while he’s in town for a family event. Enter Mandy Mitchell...the maid. Except, Mandy is much more than that to Zeke—she was the object of his every teenage dream back in the days when she was known as “Mandy the Magnificent” but he'd earned the unflattering high school senior adjective of “Ezekiel the Geekiel.”

Zeke is no longer a geek—he’s gorgeous. And Mandy doesn’t feel so magnificent since her marriage fell apart and left her up to her eyeballs in debt and despair. The minute they meet again, Mandy knows he’s exactly the kind of trouble she should avoid...but Zeke does have one thing Mandy needs to gain the independence she craves. Will he give it to her? One look at Mandy, and Zeke turns his relentless ability to get what he wants into a full-on seduction and he’s ready to give her anything. But can Mandy face down the secrets of her past to find a fairy-tale future with Zeke?

I don’t know about you, but when I check out an author's bio, it’s usually because I’ve read a book I liked and wondered about the person behind it. Let's skip the formal bio and I'll give you the inside scoop on who Roxanne St. Claire really is.

First of all, call me Rocki. Everyone does. Evidently, when my mother brought me home from the hospital I seemed too scrawny and small to pull off “Roxanne” (she’d read Cyrano de Bergerac while pregnant or I would have been Judy) so they called me Rocki.

I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, the youngest of five (overachievers, every one), and fell in love with words and stories the summer I read Gone With The Wind. That year, for my twelfth birthday, my parents gave me a typewriter (with italic font – it was the coolest thing) and from that day on, I’ve had my fingers on a keyboard, pounding out love stories for fun. My AP English teacher taught me the two most important lessons an aspiring author ever needs: 1) verbs are the key to life and 2) a writer should get a real job. After attending UCLA and graduating with a degree in communications, I tried acting and television broadcasting. Oh, they aren’t real jobs? I learned that the hard way. I changed my last name from Zink to St. Claire because a news producer told me Roxanne Zink had too many harsh consonants for a TV personality – apparently Katie Couric didn’t get the memo. I got some fun gigs, and even met Tom Hanks when I did a guest appearance on Bosom Buddies. I liked on camera work, but wasn’t too crazy about starvation, so I moved to Boston and got that “real” job. In fact, I placed my foot on the bottom rung of the corporate ladder and didn’t look down until I’d climbed all the way up to the level of Senior Vice President at the world’s largest public relations firm. On the way up, I met the man of my dreams in an elevator. Two years later – in the same elevator! – he asked me to marry him and I wisely said yes.

I stayed in PR, moved to Miami, had a few babies, lost my home in a hurricane, built another one a few hours north and all along, I kept writing my “stories” for fun. One night, I read a particularly fabulous romance novel that changed my life for good. That night, I decided I wanted to make someone else feel as whole and happy as that author made me feel. (Everyone asks! It was Nobody’s Baby But Mine by Susan Elizabeth Phillips.) With two small children and one big “real” job, writing my first novel wasn’t easy, but I did finish a manuscript that managed to get the attention of a literary agent. She told me to do one thing and one thing fast: write another book. (The first one is usually a “learner” book, honestly.) That second manuscript sold to Simon & Schuster’s Pocket Books and was released in 2003 as Tropical Getaway. Since then, I’ve written almost thirty more, in multiple genres, and long ago replaced the corporate ladder with the rollercoaster of publishing as a full-time novelist. Finally, writing is my real job.

Today, I live in a small beach community in Florida with my husband and two dogs. Our kids are off to college and law school, which means my nest is empty! I spend my time writing, working with the kids at my church, enjoying my husband's gourmet cooking, and hanging with my many writer friends. Of course, I love to read. I’m still crazy about words and stories and hope to write at least a hundred books in my lifetime. And, yes, verbs are the key to life. My favorites? Love. Work. Believe.

xoxo
Rocki

The Barefoot Bay experience continues with this sweet story of the high school geek getting the last laugh as an adult and getting the prom queen.

Amanda Lockhart, known as Mandy the Magnificent, has had it tough. Her marriage to a wealthy businessman is over and she's left with nothing, now a maid at the Casa Blanca resort. Zeke Nicholas, known as Ezekiel the Geekiel, is now a billionaire investment whiz and has also blossomed in the looks department. It's almost kismet when they meet at the resort where he's staying and she's servicing his villa.

Though the story is short it covers a lot of emotional ground and backstory. I enjoyed their romance, especially Zeke's elation at finding the woman who was his crush for many years. The twist near the end was a bit unexpected and certainly complicated things in an interesting way. I enjoyed Zeke and Mandy's story and seeing some of the characters from the original series. 3.5 stars

The rating of this book was originally 2.5 stars but I brought it down when the book ended with no sex. WTH? What a waste of Kaleo Griffith's voice!

This is one of those books where the heroine was beautiful and nasty in high school but finds herself a maid as an adult after having an awful marriage. Zeke, the billionaire hero, had had a big crush on her so when he finds she's a maid, he hires her to act as his girlfriend. I never got the feeling that he really loved her for who she was, instead, he was really hung up on the whole high school thing.

She kept rejecting him over and over and it got tiresome, blaming him because he was rich like her ex. The whole plot with the evil ex didn't make much sense whatsover and I rolled my eyes constantly at how her high school nemesis seemed to know very private things of her life.

I've heard many things about Kaleo Griffith and he lived up to ALL my expectations. Wow but that's a sexy voice! I'm really looking forward to listening to him in a sexier book.

A sweet quick little romance. A lesson on being kind and never be cruel to the geek, he may rule one day. It was predictable, reminded me of pretty woman, man saving girl from poverty but there was so much more. Great characters, funny bits and sexy without making me blush when reading in public. I look forward to reading more from this author.

This was soooooo sweet! Roxanne St. Claire wrote such a beautiful love story that brightened up my day.

I've always had a weakness for sweet, nerdy heroes, and yes, Zeke was a nerd back in high school. He had a secret crush on Amanda, a cheerleader, back then.

When he met her again this time, he became a billionaire and Amanda was working as a maid at the villa that he rented for a week. He had never hidden his feelings for her. He had been honest with her and accepting whatever she could give him though it was only a friendship from her. Whew, adorable guy! I definitely fell head over heels in love with him.

I was extremely happy reading this novella. Highly recommend to the readers who crave sweet romance.

Good story, but predictable and not likely to happen the way things did. I still enjoyed the book, but it could’ve been better.

I never have big expectations when I listen to short romance books with Audible Escape but this time around, I was so surprised by how much I loved this book! This was so good and from the beginning, I was rooting for both of our main characters. I didn't read the synopsis before diving into the audiobook so I was glad to find out that Zeke wasn't the typical cliché billionaire we've seen a million times before. He wasn't arrogant and growing up, he was invisible in high school. Our FMC, however, was the popular girl back then but things changed for both of them and now, she met him again as a maid. She's not in the best situation (financially and emotionally) but Zeke has had a huge crush on her years from now and he wants to get to know the person she became and help her along the way.

The dialogues, the banter was good. There was also great chemistry and I don't know if it's because the narrator did a great job, because of the book or both but I appreciated it after listening to two books I didn't really care for. This one surprised me in the best possible ways.

Ahh I love going back to Barefoot Bay.

This is the first in a novella trilogy featuring billionaire friends and partners. Mandy Mitchell/Lockhart found herself working as a maid at the resort when her husband left her high and dry without a penny to her name. This is a complete change from the high social order she had in high school as Mandy the Magnificent. She wants to start up her own business but has no capital to help move it along.

Zeke Nicholas knew and admired Mandy from afar in high school. After all, geeks don't mingle with cheerleaders in those circles back then. Now a mega rich businessman, Zeke is down at Barefoot Bay to help his mother plan a party for his dad. His meddling mother that is, who wants nothing more than grandbabies to bounce on her lap. And she's hoping to catch Zeke a wife at the party by inviting all the single daughters of her acquaintances. Zeke on the other hand, wants nothing to do with it.

So when Mandy knocks on his villa, he was surprised to see her and confused why she would be working as a maid. He may not be looking for a wife but his interest and crush from high school come rushing back. And he makes a proposal that might be beneficial to both of them. But Mandy holds a secret that may ruin everything.

This was a quick and enjoyable read. Zoe and Jocelyn were mentioned but Lacey made more appearances here. The story and characters were developed quite nicely. Zeke was super sweet and charming and I love his friends. It also sets up the next novella as well.

I also liked the mention of Leo who's the hero in Lily Everett's next novella The Fireside Inn. Love seeing the author's support of real life friends.

Loved the characters and the unique story line. It's not often a geek becomes a hunk and the homecoming queen a maid. And to top it all off, fall in love. Happy reading!

This was the first St.Claire book I've read that wasn't part of her Dogfather series which I thoroughly enjoyed. While I'm not going to give up on this series, unfortunately I didn't really love this novella. It was really good until Amanda's big reveal about 80% of the way through the story. But the whole "I couldn't tell you because I signed an NDA was just ridiculous. Right like that had any kind of validity at that point or that she had anything even if he could (which all things considered he really couldn't) sue her for. I mean she's broke, living in her parents home giving most of her meager income to people he'd swindled. And then our hero Zeke's response to the news. Really? Despite his motives unless he's a complete moron he had to realize what he did was going to break her heart, not knowing what he was up to. How could she not think he'd abandoned her? No, sorry Roxanne, I was really disappointed in the final 20% of this book and even the H.E.A. couldn't wipe away my disappointment.

I regret to say that I didn't care much for this book. My biggest complaint was the heroine, Amanda aka Mandy. She's a frustrating character and one I never really warmed up to. I was frustrated by her judgement of wealthy men and the redundancy of her self talk and the way she talked to her hero, Zeke. It was troubling that Zeke was so 'in love' with her yet he really didn't know her. He had a crush on her in high school where she was the beauty queen cheerleader and he was head of the geek squad. They had a single interaction in which she helped him pick up his supplies that were knocked down by a bully and she told the bully off while his end of the conversation was one word, thanks. He claims to have loved her since then. How can you love someone when you don't know them. He loved the thought of her, the sight of her, her great body, and the look of her but love...didn't convince this reader.

Many liked this book but to be honest I can't recommend this one.

Eh, this was just okay. It was a little cheesy and predictable. The characters were fine, but the plot was a little thin for me.

Ummm alright

This was an ok story with shallow characters. For a beach read I guess I can endorse it. Not sure if I will continue series.

Loved it..

So, this is the first time I’ve read anything by Roxanne St. Claire and I only decided to try it because the book was free with KU and the audible was only $1.99. I gotta tell you, I loved it from the very beginning. Not just the storyline but the narration made it awesome.

I adored Zeke and Mandy from each page they were introduced to us. This is nothing but a romance, which I don’t usually read anymore, BUT it only has 198 pages, which tells me there’s NOT going to be pages and pages of angst and misunderstandings, which also tells me there’s NOT going to be stupid descriptions of trees and gardens and cars and horses and stables and ballrooms and condos and all that stuff that just takes up space in a book, making a love story into a 400 page book instead of a REAL love story into a 200 page one.

This was about a sweet woman whose husband was controlling and a criminal and who abused her with rough sex. Zeke was just the opposite and had had a crush on Mandy back in high school, where he was a total geek and she was Mandy the Magnificent. But, wow, had he changed since they’d last seen each other. I think my favorite part of the whole book was the beginning when she knocked on his door and he saw her again after all those years. It was so sweet. I enjoyed this book so much I went and bought the other two in this series before I ever finished this one.

I liked the other characters: Lacey, Garrett, Nate and Elliot. I really couldn’t stand Tori, what an absolute biotch she was.

There was a little sex in this book, as well as desire and sexual tension and there was swearing, but it wasn’t bad swearing.

As to the narrator: Kaleo Griffith was really great! His men all sounded different and his women sounded like women are supposed. His feelings and emotions when he read were fantastic.

This is the second Roxanne St. Claire book I've read and the second which ends in disappointment. The author does a wonderful job pulling me in and making me care about the characters. The frustration comes in with a lack of follow through - in a rushed or incomplete ending.

Mandy and Zeke had great chemistry, a sympathetic backstory and a natural progression in their relationship (though quick). Zeke wanted more from the start, but Mandy, for several reasons, was hesitant. He spent the week wooing her and making her let down her guard.

I had been disappointed in the abrupt ending of the other St. Claire book I'd read, but this one left way too many unresolved issues. With two strikes, I fear this is something in the writing style of this particular author. I doubt I'd read anything further, which is disappointing, because I do love the characters she creates and the chemistry she writes for them!

Secrets on the Sand by Roxanne St Claire

Mandy Mitchell was the high school Homecoming Queen. But an unfortunate choice of a former husband has drastically changed her income level and she is now barely hanging on as a maid at Barefoot Bay. With a supervisor out to make trouble, Mandy soon finds herself in a compromising situation with Zeke Nicholas. Zeke had a crush on Mandy back in high school and he's not about to let her slip away this time around. Mandy has been emotionally burned and Zeke will have to move carefully to gain her trust.

A lovely emotionally touching romance with a little zip and humor thrown into this novella. It's fun to re-visit Barefoot Bay and visit with old friends while living a new romance. Mandy and Zeke are instantly attracted when they re-meet and it's exciting to follow their pretend courtship while it becomes real and meaningful to them both. And oh, we need to wish that Tori gets what she deserves at some point. And what of the rest of that Billionaire softball team? I want to know which ladies will take out the next player from the team.
I'm looking forward to reading more Barefoot Bay treasures.

I received a copy of this book from the author.

Mandy Mitchell was the queen-bee in high school, but after a failed marriage she now works as a maid at a luxury hotel. And she has sworn of men for good.

Enter Zeke Nichols, he was a geeky nobody in high school, but now is a filthy rich and eligible bachelor. He's also been unlucky in love, and is looking for a partner.

They meet, and when Zeke realizes he's face to face with his high school crush, he convinces her to be his fake-girl friend. But all too soon, the feelings move beyond pretend, and Mandy has to fess up. That not only

This felt predictable, and sweet. Like an old-timey Harlequin-novel. The rich "perfect-gentleman", coming in to save the vulnerable but still strong and independent woman. And of course they live happily ever after, after getting through "the obstacle", and love conquers all. Cheesy, and a real beach-read.

Fantastic continuation of the original series. We are back at Barefoot Bay meeting some new friends, Amanda "Mandy" Mitchell and Zeke "Ezekiel the Geekiel" Nicholas. In high school she was the popular rich girl and he was the nerd. Funny how things can change. With it's great characters and heartwarming story this is one book you don't want to miss. Highly recommended.

This book was fine. I like the hero and the heroine. However, the romance takes place over the course of a week and so it is a bit fast. The hero had a crush on the heroine in high school and he is now a super hot rich guy while she is down on her luck. I really wish he was still nerdy. He can be hot and nerdy.

A quick easy read with flat secondaries.

Secrets on the Sand was a beautiful story of love 're-united. I really enjoyed this book! Zeke and Mandy's, I fell in love with these two I couldn't help cheering for them. Against all odds they reconnected again some parts made me laugh, I'm a hopelessly romantic, it has very thing I wanted a 5 star for me

Zeke Nicholas was to adorable for words .. loved getting to know this place called Barefoot Bay this was my first read by this author and I was so gland that I took the time to check it out. The high school flash backs, the detail on every charter make this a fun read. Makes me want to read more on this series.

This was a sweet, fairly quick read. Not a great deal of character development, and even though the couple had a past it was still as if they were in two different worlds. The were in two worlds then, and technically are again now. With that said, I'd definitely be more trusting of someone I knew from high school than I would any stranger I happened to run into.

A fun, light-hearted read with a billionaire who, for once in this genre, didn't come over as an over-sexed, incompetent idiot. ;)

My real gripe was that this would have been so much better if it had been developed instead of being just a novella.
