I was fortunate to have received an ARC of the book before release.

Caspar is tired of working for the Nightcloaks, an unfriendly trading guild and the last straw is when they refuse to pay him what he is owed. He finds himself amongst a pirate crew. In order to get revenge on the Nightcloaks, Caspar and his family of friends must find a copy of an incredibly rare, missing book.

I really liked the adventures that Caspar took us on and watching him and his friends get into trouble and worm themselves out of it in the nick of time. There is a character for everyone in the group of friends. I really liked Olivia’s character in particular and would love more on the mages in the future!

The copy I read was an English translation and generally the translation was very good, there were a couple of sentences that did make sense but didn’t quite roll off the tongue naturally. It took me a little longer to read than I anticipated but I was enjoying the story so much that it didn’t detract from the reading experience.
I enjoyed the story and would love to see more from The Trunker Crew!
