I love how every time I read this series, I simultaneously understand nothing and everything that’s going on. I’ll read paragraph after paragraph, but not take in a thing that’s said. It’ll go right over my head. In one ear and out the other.
Yet at some point, it all makes sense. “Oh that’s what’s going on,” I’ll say to myself. I’m so tense the entire time I read this, my jaw’s sore. I bite my lip so much that I’m sure my body’s having trouble replacing the skin.
Incredible.

This series is incredibly heavy on the politics - perhaps one of the most politically heavy books I’ve read.

There’s a lot here that went over my head, and a bit that I didn’t necessarily agree with, but it’s all incredibly interesting.

A huge potion of this book is focused around the events of 7/11 - the lead up, the event, the aftermath… and the moral quandaries that come with it.

It’s also incredibly pro-police/military/spies/etc. Which I personally am not. But again: interesting.

I’m interested in seeing where this goes next.
