So, if you really want to know my main problems with this story, you can look at my reviews for “His One and Only” and “The Owner of His Heart”. Same critiques.

Now, what I didn’t have to deal with in the two aforementioned stories was the not-so-consensual sex, dubious consent if you will: the guy has sex with (in this case, deflowers) a woman knowing that if she were in her right state of mind/being she would not have consented to it. Rafe likened this amputating a drunk person’s leg. I think the more accurate comparison is having sex with a drunk/drugged person.

I skipped most of the sex scenes, because they all had a slightly disturbing feel to them, but there was one that gave off a real SVU vibe:
“When he was done getting dressed, he looked at her, in her torn dress, her breasts exposed, what they’d just done dripping down her thighs, her entire body trembling under his gaze. And he left without another word, locking the door of the cell behind him”

Most authors who take on the dubious consent storylines know that they are subjecting their character to an uphill battle. They have to get the readers to root for the character again and get him/her to shed this rapey vibe that clings to them like a thin film. They usually do this by having the character show extreme remorse for the incident. Taylor didn’t go this route. Rafe never really apologized. In fact, Alisha ended up apologizing to EVERYONE, accepting guilt for Rafe’s state after she left, even thanking him for the creature comforts of the prison he put her in when they returned.

By the end of the novel Alisha was completely tamed, just as Rafe predicted: letting her moms dress her, no longer working in academia, okay with having been used by her loved ones and the prospect of her sons (future alphas) being used by them. It was all very sad to witness.

SN: I think it would have been more believable to have the wolves attend college separate from the humans. Because, really, no human student, faculty, or administrator ever looked into why their college offers extensive wolf courses?

I have enjoyed most of Theodora's books. However I'm starting to notice that most of the plots of her books are centered on one of the main characters seeking revenge on other. Most of the books are spent with the main characters not liking each other and then suddenly in the last two chapters they fall in love and forgive each other. It doesn't seem realistic especially in this book. I could not understand how Alisha forgave Rage for imprisoning her and keeping her away from her children. Her imprisonment seemed really cruel and made want to stop reading the book. Its suppose to be a romance novel but the romance doesn't appear until the end the novel. It's not enjoyable to read about the hatred someone is experiencing for another constantly. I also did not like that she put herself in the book. That part was unnecessary and it really annoys me when authors mention themselves in their books. It just seems corny. I will be reading the next book in the series and I hope that books's plot is not centered on Tu wanting revenge against Grady.

Funny about the title of this book, b/c I definitely have a prejudiced opinion toward it. But Alisha was one of my favorite heroines of all time. Loved her. Hope you do too!

I have been really into my recent streak of paranormal romances from Theodora Taylor. That said I'm removing a star because of the WTF of the author showing up in the story. I would let it go, if this wasn't the second time she has shown up in one of her books. I'm sure other fans loved it though.

So here we have another example of a woman's worth coming down to three things:

-Her virginity
-Her ability to attract a wealthy husband
-Her ability to procreate

Lovely. This is nothing new in TT's books. It always boils down to a woman trading in her life or semblance of independence for a husband and some kids. That's exactly what happened to Alisha, the middle daughter of the king and queen of Alaska.

I guess this was inspired by The Taming of the Shrew but I must have missed the memo of a shrew being a woman seeking an education to better herself and her society over time. Alisha was a history professor, earned her doctorate degree, however her parents hated the fact she wanted to get an education over being a trading pawn and eventual Stepford Wife. Alisha was headstrong, fiery, and refused to back down.

Enter Rafe Nightwolf, the king of Colorado who wants Alisha as his queen though they have an acrimonious relationship. The story tries to convince us that Rafe and Alisha are attracted to each other, but it almost comes off as an afterthought, more so from Alisha's end than Rafe's. I couldn't get behind their relationship because of the calculating way Rafe went about making sure he'd be the one to appear on Alisha's heat night so they could mate. From there it went downhill but it had never been going uphill to start with. Alisha's parents were all for Rafe and her getting hitched, and that was the absolute *last* thing she wanted. Because she knew what it meant. Having to sacrifice her career. Plus, Rafe was her best friend's ex.

If I was supposed to feel empathy for Rafe after Alisha decided to run back a 1,000 years in time hoping to stay gone long enough for them to get a wolf annulment (after thinking he didn't really care for her was just using her to become a two-state king), I didn't. If I was supposed to cheer when he defeated two Viking wolves who challenged him for Alisha's hand, I didn't. If I was supposed to say, "it's what she deserves" when Rafe, Alisha and their children returned to modern times, and he jails her in his ex's house, I didn't. If I was supposed to be happy that Alisha claimed to now want to be a compliant wife and mother, because she understood how painful it can be to leave someone you claim to love, yeah I wasn't. Alisha became a watered down version of herself for 'love' and it just didn't ring true for me. She was backed into a corner with limited options so the choices she made didn't feel like they were coming from the heart, they were circumstantial. But again, we're to believe love formed and bloomed between Rafe and Alisha. The only highlight of this story for me were their children; how protective they were of their mother, and their amazement of modern day inventions.

Rafe (the male lead) was really unlikable and an entitled jerk for the entire story and I really didn't like him. The female lead basically runs away from him and I didn't blame her because the guy was dismissive, self absorbed and patronizing to her. I think the author wanted the reader to sympathize with the guy in the story but I just couldn't because he was such bad guy. At no point does any character in this book care about the wants or desires of the female lead. They basically treated her like a foolish child who didn't know what was good for her. She fight for her autonomy in a system where the women have no autonomy. The author literally creates a world where the women have no choice but to bred children and become property. And when the female isn't okay with this because her "owner" is a self absorbed man child they paint her as the bad guy. And because this is a romance and so she has to give into the relationship I just felt bad for her. It doesn't seem like a happy ever after it just seems like a forced (by biology) relationship. There was no romance or connection in this story.

Ok so after wanting to kick the sh*t out of Rafe (Lord please forgive me because I most certainly did)the story was really good.

I mean Rafe went through great pains to try and get Alisha to heal to him but what he wasn't figuring on was the deception would turn against him, causing Alisha to flee from him.

Why don't we tell the truth and be honest because it is too simple. So what we do is tell half truths which are actually lies.

Rafe had to learn the hard way, Alisha who is brilliant was not one to yield or buckle down to anybody law. Causing her to flee but it came at such a great price.

It was great reconnecting with Fenris and Chloe from "My Viking Wolf" again. Which is a great story and one of my favs.

Rafe and Alisha (And their triplets) did indeed get their HEA but a lot of pain took place before they finally arrived.

I also loved the nice twist of seeing Author Theodora Taylor written into the story.

Next up Book 3 "Wolf and Soul" Princess Tu and Alpha King (former Sheriff)Grady.

This was a terrible book.

First the parents set up their daughters to be basically bought and raped. It’s disturbing.

Then even though the heroine clearly doesn’t want a man or know the hero he insist on being with her. I read a lot of paranormal romances and I understand the idea of a supernaturally induced “mate” but the authors are usually good about incorporating choice and love. The entire mating debacle in this series is just rape.

Then after heroine actually comes to her senses to escape rapist, he finds her, puts her in a cage, and has her rapist-enabling parents visit her and deprives her of her children. After enduring all this she apologizes to him and he never does.

This book seriously made me question the sanity of this author. Like I know I have some issues but wtf?

Being able to read a captivating IRR that's well written, is one of Life's true, yet simple pleasures.

Let it be known from this point forward that Theodora Taylor is a gifted writer, who truly cares about the quality of her books (& it really shows).

After having read this fast paced tale of love lost & found,I can truly say that this book was even better than I'd originally expected.

Giving this awesome book, 4.75 stars.

The lowest rated Theodora Taylor book yet, and it's all because of Rafe. Truly. I really hated him. I disliked him heartily in Chloe's story and then again in Janelle's, but this book brought it to an all-time high loathing. He's an abusive prick and I really hope Alisha finds her backbone again and leaves; because any amount of time with Rafe is an eternity in hell.

This was embarrassingly bad, and I'm saying that as a huge fan of this author's work, and after binge reading the books I've missed in this series, for the last 5 days. It seems like the Wolf portion of this series is just determined to try my patience. There is nothing good or romantic about this book. I have only read two or three books in my life where I didn't like ANY of the primary characters; this book makes 4. Really, I only liked the cubs and Grady (the beta) and Grady's book is next, so I'm sure he won't miss his opportunity to piss me off lol. The toxicity here on supermax. Alisha is annoying; her parents are a hot mess; Rafe is contemptible; Chloe I didn't like from her own book; oh wait, add Fenris to those I liked. Fenris is cool people.

We know lots of these 'fantasy alpha' relationships are toxic as hell, but this was next level. I was rolling my eyes at the love declarations at the end. What?! He is a manipulative pyscho! Granted all this author's male characters are 85% asshole, but there is usually something redeemable about them. A couple of them like Mag actually started out as decent and loving before he was betrayed. Rafe, no such luck. I actually had an issue with the way the author demonized Rafe at the end of the Fenris/Chloe book, and the bastardization of his character continued here. Rafe used to be a good guy/good friend. From the argument with Mag at the start of the book it was like ok, I see where this is going; his treatment of Chloe was trash and then his pursuit of Alisha was uber trash. Even his treatment of Alisha while dating Chloe was ridic.

The lack of communication is annoying. Backstory, Rafe was engaged to Chloe for a few years without her going into heat. She then mates with someone else during her heat cycle and ends up leaving. Rafe is, understandably hurt and embarrassed, but turns out he'd always wanted Alisha anyway, even while he was being dismissive and rude to her. Alisha is a feminist, she-wolf Professor/Research Fellow (hear her roar) determined to write a history about she-wolves and their influence on society or some such, featuring Chloe. She, for whatever reason, doesn't seem to understand why a book about Chloe (and her new love) would be hurtful to Rafe. Really? Meanwhile Rafe is in cahoots with her dad to stop publication of the book and get an extra kingdom under his belt via their marriage. She finds out and hightails it with Rafe's pup in her belly. Right!

I find that a few of this author's books, especially the Wolf series, involve a misunderstanding, separation and then the man going out of his way to track the woman down and make her come back to him, through various manipulative means, just to punish her and make her suffer. It's all very romantic *straight face*. So Rafe does this, brings Alisha home, What part of this is sexy? Oh wait *snaps fingers* they have sex ...because she realizes she still wants him. So, there's that. I would have respected her more if she'd tried to use it to her advantage. Her actually still wanting him, in the situation she was in, was craziness. There is NOTHING redeeming about Rafe in this book, ever. I read till the end because I was waiting to see what could possibly make her still love him and yep, nope, nada. It made no sense at all. He was (understandably) hurt so he acted like a douchenozzle, he was attracted to her; that's why he treated her like crap. It's not his fault, see?
and he did stuff repeatedly KNOWING, as we learn at the end, that they . Reallly?? Him being cordial and loving because you've agreed to do exactly what he wants is not growth. Even near the end when there is an incident that allows Rafe to think she left again, he only finds here because he had told her that there is no where she could ever run; he would track her down. And she was 'hoping that he'd meant it' not because he loved her and was in fear for her safety; she was hoping he was as toxic and crazy as he'd said but it would work to her benefit this time. I just...Their conversation at the end about the mistakes they'd both made was eye-roll worthy because yeah, had you just SPOKEN all of that could have been avoided; the rest of it sounded like revisionist crap with Rafe just making stuff up in hindsight . Crapola. He is not a good person! By the time he started doing nice things at the end, I was just done. Yes, he was loving to the cubs; that was nice, but this just felt like a story about a man who manipulated and stalked a woman into submission and I don't even mean regarding the book, which I never cared about in the first place.. Yes, Rafe 'loves' her immensely and yes he was wronged when she left, but why did she leave Rafe? Ugh

1 star and that is for the cubs. Das it. Oh wait, the fight scene where Rafe faces the challengers is FIRE! That, and the scene with Mag, are literally the only good scenes in this book apart from his interaction with the cubs. So 1.5

A Wildly Twisting Tale of Heated, Emotional Endurance and Intentionality...

After all of the questions left dangling in my head about Chloe and Fenris in book one of Theodora Taylor's "Alpha Kings" series. I skipped to book three in hopes I would find some of the much needed answers from Chloe's best friend Alicia. The historian, she-wolf extraordinare determined to uncover the real story about how/why her friend disappeared, and about how all of their time traveling ways affected all of their histories overall. And I definitely found that, and a whole lot more, as "Wolf and Prejudice" is a wild, twisting, turning, at times bewildering ride of "As the World Turns" style, soap opera-esque proportions, not for the faint of heart or easily triggered.

Unlike the first book, which dabbled in sorcery, alpha driven exchanges of power, and a mating steeped in emotional trauma and biological necessity. This installment almost completely obliterates the notion of free will, teetering precariously on the line of consent. Here Taylor presents a mating fixed in ambiguity, and at times flitting beyond the edge of begrudging, emotionally complicated choice, into conquest territory. The result was a book wholly steeped in mistrust and anger right from the start. One where we find Rafe, the mighty wolf king of Colorado going to any length he deems necessary to secure his chosen queen. And one where we find Alicia seething, going to her own extreme lengths to escape the machinations of her royal family. And overall, a book so soaked in bitterness and rage, that you almost drown under its emotional tides.

Furthermore, beyond the emotional rollercoaster, this installment has a vein of suspenseful intrigue full of dizzying twists and turns. All moving at a blistering pace from scene to scene, reminiscent of Alisha's own desire to flee the machinations of her father and the larger, "game of wolves" being played. It is an intense, almost overwhelming story that whips you violently from character to character, chapter to chapter, circumstance to seemingly impossible circumstance.

And unlike the couple before them, Fenris and Chloe, who cultivated a mate bond so delicate and tender it made your chest ache a little. Rafe and Alicia's pairing is hellfire personified. Theirs is a mate bond built on deceit, betrayal, trickery, and secrecy. A bond built by biological force and initially maintained through royal treachery and familial demand. A pairing so astounding for it's unwanted, almost brutal inception, you will wonder allowed if the ending is even really deserved or in any way rational.

You will be panting with emotional exhaustion by the end of this book. However, despite the much darker, more violent tone, there lives a much clearer path from start to finish. Gone are many of the confusing plot points and the seemingly endless side trips into silly, unnecessary banter. Additionally, the overarching theme of time jumping presented here, is explained a bit further, answering some of the questions I was left with at the end of the first book. However, you are still left with lingering questions, and niggling thoughts that, in the end, make the overall story world housed within this series far more tedious than it needs to be.

"
Rafe’s eyes went to Alisha, who was standing at the front of the crowd with a pack of cubs gathered around her skirt. Her expression was angry and frustrated, and her eyes stayed on Rafe, even as the Viking giant said his next words directly to her.

Chloe didn’t translate this time, forcing Rafe to ask her, “What did he say?”

“Ah, I don’t think you want to know.”

But Alisha must have understood. She picked up one of the pups at her feet, one of only three that didn’t have red hair, and held him close, as if to protect him from the Viking’s ugly promise. “Tell me what he said, Chloe,” Rafe said, unable to take his eyes off Alisha and the pup.

Chloe shifted and mumbled, “Something about how after her mate is slain, he will then have her many times this very night and every night, until she spills her heat upon him and take his cubs. He said her sons, all of her sons, will call him father.”

And that was when Rafe’s vision turned to red, his wolf taking over with a click of a switch. “Rafe, no!” he heard Alisha scream in the distance.

One minute, Skeggi was spouting words at her—ones she didn’t understand, but they made her blood run cold, and the next, Rafe was tearing off his fur vest and running toward the giant.

Skeggi opened his arms with a big laugh, a move that said, “Here, have one on the house.”

She’d seen Skeggi use a similar tactic during tournaments. He’d let his opponent get in good punch, and then shake it off quickly before beating the poor man within an inch of his life. It was a showy move, but very affective. He wasn’t challenged much after that and always left the fighting circle the sooner-than-expected victor. However, Rafe didn’t swing on him as most opponents would have at that point. Instead he planted his foot square in Skeggi’s chest and shoved his hand into the giant’s laughing mouth… before yanking it back hard at the same time he pushed his booted foot further into Skeggi’s chest. The crowd gasped as blood spewed forth from Skeggi’s mouth. It water falled onto Rafe’s chest as he threw the Viking’s tongue down in the snow like so much rubbish.

The giant himself screamed and screamed, a terrible stunted sound as he stumbled around with his hands covering his now tongue less mouth. Alisha stood watching, mute as she quickly covered the eyes of the four-year-old puppy in her arms. She wished she had enough hands to cover all of the wolf pups’ eyes, this fight had taken such a gruesome turn. But her son shook her hand off, ducking his muzzle under her hand, so he could see.

At that point, Skeggi couldn’t have conceded even if he’d had a mind to. In any case, Rafe didn’t give the Viking much time to regroup. He launched himself into the air again, strung his arm around the Viking’s neck, and then used all of his weight to turn his entire body toward the earth with a vicious twist. There was a sickening crack and Skeggi crumpled inside Rafe’s neck hold like a pile of bricks. Less than thirty seconds after the fight had begun it was over, with Skeggi dead before he even hit the ground, displacing the blood-speckled snow with an enormous thud, his tongueless mouth wide-open in a death rictus of horror. The now completely subdued crowd looked as one at Rafe whose face and upper torso were covered in their best Viking warrior’s blood spatter. A moment of stunned silence.

Then Bukkr, one of Skeggi’s cousins, came rushing forth with a great battle cry, avenging his dead relative, even though he ostensibly would have fought Skeggi...

He wouldn’t have the benefit of either this time. Bukkr ran toward Rafe, leaping into the air, so he could bring his ham-sized fist down on the smaller man’s head with as much force as possible. But once again, Rafe was both quick and vicious. He used a martial arts move to slice his hand into the Viking’s Adam’s apple. Bukkr stumbled backwards, choking on Rafe’s blow, and Rafe followed him, grabbing the disoriented man by the front of his tunic and plunging his index and middle fingers into the Viking’s eyes so fast, and with such precision, that the crowd let out a collective gasp.

It soon became evident Rafe had hit something nerve-related inside the Viking’s eye sockets, when Bukkr began convulsing on the Colorado king’s embedded hand. Then Rafe pulled his hand out of the poor man’s eye cavities and slapped his hands over the Viking’s ears in a forceful clapping motion. Almost like a Three Stooges cartoon, except this move was fatal. Bukkr fell on the ground next to his cousin, his face now an eyeless mess. Rafe looked to the group of challenge Vikings, now shrunk by two in less than five minutes.

“Who’s next?” he growled, his voice more animal than man. It was a wonder he was able to maintain his human form, his hazel eyes were glittering with such murderous intent. "

I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book, and I finally did and to my greatest enjoyment I also go my hands on not only Alisha book. But also her youngest sister Tu book and her oldest sister Janelle book. I'M SO HAPPY!!!!

I couldn't help but LOVE Rafe in this book, omg he's so hot!

I love the fact that Alisha wasn't going to let him interfere with her trying to find out what happen to Chole, and even though Rafe was doing everything in his power so she couldn't.

Rafe father is also hilarious and I couldn't help but like him, as he plays match maker trying to get the two together, also help Alisha get more information on her friend.

I don't exactly like her parents, they're something else, how they push there oldest daughter at the first alpha male that will help there stay on top. That is horrible, and cruel. How can you do that to your own children, they should be treated like bargain chips. That is not right.

But the fact that Alisha forgives that is crazy, and I'm unsure if I can agree with her for this or tell her how crazy she is. But her choice I guess.

I love his Rafe ends up chasing after her and even goes back in time to get her and his cubs back. But what I love the most out of this whole book is the way he goes and kills the wolf that was going to kill him to claim her and his cubs. He was not going to allow that to happen not matter what. Rip the guy disrespectful tongue right out of his mouth. This is one of my favorite parts in the book.

I really do what to know what happen between Rafe (Oldest son of Alisha and Rafe) and his younger brothers. He is such a leader to them and protective, then he grows up to be a big, huge, jerk.

Well I cannot wait to get my hands his book and find out what that was. And if your somewhat confuse, yes the boys get there own stories and you're certainty in for a treat.

This was a major miss for me. Rafe was AWFUL and Alisha's family was AWFUL. They treated that girl terribly and then in the end she ends up apologizing to them? No, that was nonsense.

Rafe never truly owned up to what he did to that girl and honestly, since Rafe was such trash, I was really hoping someone else was just going to swoop in somehow break hat bond because RAFE WAS AWFUL.

He had zero reason to be mad at Chloe or Alisha and yet. . . there he was, still angry and making Alisha's life miserable. He manipulated her into a mate bond and then when she rightfully got the heck out of dodge to not be in that toxic mess, he gaslit her into thinking that she had something to be sorry for without ever really acknowledging that he was MAJORLY at fault for how that went down. And then when she came back, HE LOCKED HER IN A CAGE!! Like that was going to make anything at all better.

Just a terrible H which made the book not good.

Pleasantly surprised

I enjoyed reading this book. I will be honest, I skipped the book before this because I really just wanted to know what happened to Chloe (from Her Viking Wolf). However, I found that I really enjoyed reading Alisha's story and I like her character. I find I do not like Rafe (still, even after reading this book), and I was at first a bit disappointed that this intelligent, awesome person would become his mate. As I read though, I found myself enjoying the story and how it unfolded. I am inclined to read the other books in the trilogy now.

this book is great honestly the writing is great however there are elements of the book that detracts from full enjoyment for me. for some it might be the sex scene because of the non- consent consent way about them. although its been explained through out the book that mating throws everyone for a loop. but my number one problem was the female leads attitude. being an academic is alright great really. from the beginning she was prejudice towards the male lead which may explain the title of the book.
2. shes upset by how she sees her friend being treated by her fiancee but isnt upset that her friend just lets it happen (the male lead is in love with her badly but wants to honor his promise to her friend so he teats her harsher than needed while fighting his WOLF on the matter which i think he should have just broken and called things off but that may have caused her to hate him yeah shes that unreasonable)
3. when her friend disappears she very concerned which shows shes a great friend but blames him for for being pissed which he has every right to be at that point because if you read the friends story she knew what was going down and yes she tried to remain faithful but she knew and instead of admitting it and at least calling him and ending it she let it to pile up until it exploded and there was no stopping it. while he has been fighting his wolf for years on the matter and yes he should have ended it so both were wrong.
4. shes an academic we get it but for an academic she doesnt seem to understand how to handle situations with logic and grace. okay he doesnt want to talk about it but getting up in his face isnt going to make him want to talk just angry.
5. so yes theyre mated against her human sides will since her wolf from what is inferred has wanted him for as long as his wolf wanted her and yes she finds out he has her fired and is working on stopping her book her solution go through time to where her friend went instead of sticking around to 1 research 2 work things through. as she has said over and over shes an academic she is able to use her head.
6. she seems to want to be with her friend and be involved with her friend more than anything while her friend is happily mated with kids living in the past. while she is now in the pass mated with no mate present and raising their kid in a society she should hate since she hated the male heavy one of the present but doesnt seem almost as annoyed in the dominated rule made on of the pass and doesnt seem to get a rats ass whats going on with her mate in the future if hes gone insane due to the sudden loss of his mate and kid since hes aware of the pregnancy seeing as they are part wolf and instincts and all that mates stuff.
this story would have been much more interesting if hed had gone wolf all the years shed disappear only for her to have to return to the future and have to face what her none academic minded action caused she acted like that friend who is more interested in their friends life than their own and couldnt care less what actions they took caused. in my opinion she didnt need to go back in time she could have just stayed away written her book. i mean she cant even cook in modern times but she made the decision to move back in time and seemed comfortable in a time period where everything was manual at least the friend she was soo concerned about was more in-tune with DIY still dont understand why she was that concerned about chloe since she by then knew she was fully mated not to mention i think chloe also thought her own frinds action to come to the pass was stupid.

Not My Favorite

Let me start this by saying that Theodore Taylor is a great author. I love all of her books and I will binge read her different series all the time. This is the first book of hers where I honestly did not like the main FMC.

Alisha is someone who I feel like can be likable, but her actions and her lack of critical thinking was disappointing. She’s someone who supposed to be extremely academic and smart, but it seem like she lack the awareness of how her words and actions affect everyone around her. I am not saying what the MMC did was in the right. What he did and his lack of communication to her forced them to be in the position that they were during the story.

There is just a lot of lack of accountability for everyone’s actions and how they talk to each other.

This is the first book out of the Alpha Kings that I’m reading instead of starting from book one so hopefully the other books are amazing. I just did not like the couple together because there was a lot of miscommunication, secret, lies, and other factors. I even felt bad for the MMC because he genuinely loved the FMC and was destroyed when she ran away, but it seemed like both of them did not learn from the consequences, which was frustrating.

still a great story, the spice was amazing and I did like the cast around the two. I’m excited to read about Chloe‘s story and Alisha’s sisters stories as well.

Marvelous

What a great story! One that I really enjoyed its fantastic with excitement. The characters are captivating with a awesome chemistry. It's full of romance and passion! I especially enjoyed the travel time that has thousands of years a part this will bring smile to your face, they have amazing relationship, but there is one thing I wish and that is there was more to Alisha all though I enjoyed the time spent on their relationship because it was such a delight but I wish there was more. This series is a pleasurable experience that you will keep you on the edge of your seat. The triplets are such a delightful part of a suspenseful active and binge worthy story that's great to read. Each one will make you turn every page until the end. I really enjoyed these characters they are so amazing and great together. When you add in the drama along with tons of emotions plus some intriguing twists and turns then you have a story that's full of feelings and so awesome that it turns into a great love. Overall this is a great story in this romantic series which l enjoyed and I'm excited to read the next book.

Ehhh this book gives me mixed feelings but it was very entertaining great plot and all that. After defying her parents and refusing to mate with Rafe, Alisha is basically cornered into mating with him. While hey both have been fighting their attraction to each other for years, Rafe is the type to get what he wants no matter what, like no matter eve if his intended doesn't want him.

I can completely understand Alisha running into a different century. No matter how much of an attraction the way Rafe went after her was terrible. I mean being open and honest wouldn't garnered a better response. So with that being said when Alisha came back I was honestly surprised about her 360 approach. I mean this man forced your mating and basically tried to dupe her into become his docile wife. I was expecting more of a fight from her not the "baby pls forgive me route".

But all in all i enjoyed this story very much!

I hate Rafe

I sooooo wanted to find a way to love him, but I just could not do it. All the problems in their relationship were dumped on her and no one but Janelle ever stood up for her — ever. The misogyny was so overwhelmingly it was unbearable. I keot reading hoping that Rafe would be redeemed but he never was. Alisha capitulated on nearly every front. Janelle had more self-respect than Alisha and I ended the book so sad for the woman from the first two wolf books I was soooo eager for end up just a Stepford wife.

On a side not i just dont think i am a fan of the wolf arc to the 50states series. The world building is great and the lore and history drops are wonderful but if I have to read about another woman getting “Slammed” i will scream. I get it they are animals, savage beast but it just does not give me the warm fuzzy’s at all and i just end up feeling sorry for the she-wolves in this world. Their lives seem miserable

After reading Chloe’s story, I asked for Rafe’s. I got more passion but was left feeling…unsettled. Yeah, I think I’m over this particular brand of shifter tropes. There’s something about the heat process that I’m just not feeling. But I’m a human woman and not an animal, so I guess it’s not something I’m meant to understand. As far as the character’s, no connection. If you’ve read any of my reviews, you know how I feel about a strong female lead but I find it hard to be supportive when their ‘heat’ turns them into blubbering sex fends. I don’t always hate and Alphahole and I didn’t hate Rafe; he had every right to be angry with Alisha. I can also appreciate a scheme/plan to get the woman you want. Overall the plot didn’t do it for me and the story was predictable. I’ll put the sister’s books on my TBR.

Well, that was a distinct "Nope!" from me. It's compelling reading and I like this series, but Rafe behaved so badly throughout to Alissa, Chloe and everyone else that I just can't get past that. He never was sorry or grovelled (although, squickily, Alissa did non-stop). Also, I can't imagine still loving or staying in contact with parents who betrayed her like Alissa's did. I don't think the weird breaking of the 3rd wall was in anyway a replacement for Alissa losing her career and all professional recognition for her scholarship either.

Sorry, it may be 'romance', but absolutely NOT romantic for me with this kind of major issues left with this couple and their treatment of each other.
