Edgar Cayce on Auras & Colors: Learn to Understand Color and See Auras

Rate this book
For the late psychic Edgar Cayce, the aura provided a pictorial representation of an individual’s health, thoughts, talents, and life potentials as well as karmic lessons and even past lives. In a very real sense, the aura functions as a barometer of the whole self—body, mind, and spirit. Psychic Carol Ann Liaros and Cayce expert Kevin J. Todeschi have joined together to present a unique volume that teaches you to access your intuitive self in order to see these auras and colors and then goes on to explain their meaning as based on the well-documented readings of Edgar Cayce. Their work explores colors and the human aura in a way that provides practical tools for understanding that can be applied in your own life right now.

A book about how to see auras and what the aura colors mean. Auras don’t cause people to be a certain way; rather, people cause their auras (15). Auras can change (xi). They reflect personality, mood, illness, etc. “The basic color changes as the person develops or retards, but the lighter shades and the pastels blend and shift more rapidly as the temperament expresses itself. The mind, builder of the soul, is the essential governing factor in the aura; but food, environment, and other conditions have their effect“ (104).
Cayce seemed to recommend people wear clothes or jewelry with colors opposite to their nature, to even out their temperament (xii). So the strong person should wear gray and green to be less stubborn and condemning, and the withdrawn introvert should wear red to become more energized and extroverted (xii).

Benefits of seeing auras:
Can detect when someone is lying (86, 114).
Can detect pregnancy and the sex of the baby (23).
Can tell when someone will die soon by absence of aura (24, 111).
Can know someone’s personality or mood (86).
Can help people with their health issues (71).
Can help yourself by knowing what colors can help you.
Can see past life figures (115).

My notes on the colors:
Red (Mars/do) - strength, anger (28), aggressive, anxiety, energetic (28, 31), productive (17), dangerous (34), passion, generous, brave, commanding, defiant (137). Brownish red means greed. Maroon means selfish, revenge, violence, cruelty, hatred. Crimson means lust (137).
Orange (re) - creative, inflexible, sexual, melancholy, sentimental, depressed (34), energetic, charming, sympathetic, healthy, motivating, tactful, open, sincere (136), can be balanced or imbalanced (17). Golden orange means self-control, while brownish orange means apathy, laziness, and lack of ambition (33, 136). Dull reddish range means selfish, proud, wavering, offended, swayed, trouble balancing logic and emotion (136).
Yellow (Mercury/mi) - intelligent, optimistic, thoughtful, forgiving, perceptive, impractical (17), confident, concentration (139). Pale yellow means productive (139). Golden yellow means healthy, bright, carefree, friendly, helpful. Ruddy yellow means timid. Dingy yellow means suspicious, impractical, thoughtless, dreamer who doesn’t get things done (139). Yellow aura in redheads are likely to have an inferiority complex, weak willed, indecisive followers (36).
Green (Saturn/fa) - loving, healing, generous, envious/jealous (swamp green), creative, individualistic, thoughtful, adaptable, independent, perfectionist (135), can be generous or selfish, perhaps helping people when they don’t want to be helped (17, 53). “In the early church, it symbolized youthfulness and the fertility of nature” (42). Lime green or olive green means dishonesty (114, 135).
Blue (Jupiter/sol) - calm (7, 30), personality (62), spiritual (17), cooperative (90), idealistic, judgmental, arrogant, indecisive (17), confidence, sincerity, inspiration, patience, trustworthiness, harmony, artistic talent (133). The darker the shade, the better the depth, talent, and productivity (45). Blue can also mean altruism, especially teal.
Indigo (Venus/la) - spiritually wise & aware, intuitive, self-sufficient (17), high ideals (135).
Violet (moon/ti) - spiritual, divine love, oneness, self-righteous (17), seeker, idealism that isn’t unrealistic (138).
Purple - high minded, smart, royal, loyal, wise (136-137)
Pink - love, affection, youth, immaturity (136)
Rose - beauty, love, nature (137)
Coral - materialistic (134)
Opal - enthusiasm, purpose, individuality (128)
Ivory - lies, detachment, aloofness (136)
White - ego (62), the perfect aura, the aura of Jesus (56), purity, innocence, holiness, wholeness, balance, selfless (138).
Gray - sick, pain (63), sadness, depression, fear, confusion (134), immaturity (135).
Black - evil (59), death, unknown, mysterious, fear, ending, negativity, depression, hatred (133).
Brown - business, stability (64), materialistic, practical, conventional, formal, organized, persistent, logical, impersonal, greedy (134).
Brass - lies (133).
Gold - reality (62), value, worth, divine (60).
Silver - young, immature, charming, versatile, active, lively, talkative (138). Grayish silver means loner.

Light colors are related to spirituality and higher realms of consciousness, while denser colors correspond to more physical things (25). Dark shades mean more spirit and will power (104).
When people understand and are confident and healthy, their aura is larger (37, 105). Psychics have sparkly auras (105). Most people who can see auras agree about the color meanings, except when it comes to the colors in their own auras (112).

Remedies:
When sick, wear light shades (8).
For anxiety, nervousness, or worries, wear purple and bright colors; avoid somber and dark colors like marroon (51, 68).
For improving a bad mood, avoid red & mauve; wear purple sparingly (51, 67). Wear bloodstone and moonstone (65).
For improving concentration/focus, wear medium blue (46).
For creativity, wear pearl (65).
For eye problems, wear (amber) rose shaded lenses (32). Meditate upon white (57).
For general healing, shine ultraviolet light through green glass 14 inches away from the body part that needs healing for 1.5 minutes twice a week (43-44). The light should be at least 37-38 inches from the body (44). Wear green lapis lazuli (44) or pearl (65). If you have a health clinic, paint it teal (44).
For intolerance, wear something carved (48).
For kidney problems, don’t wear orange (33).
For mental illness, wear purple and lavender (66).
To improve your sensitivity, wear opals, moonstones, pearl as a ring or short necklace (34).
For someone who is independent and defiant, have them wear yellow, blue, and an amethyst necklace (38-39).
For someone who is a writer: green and red, blue mixed in, some white (sounds like tie-dye) (104).

Methods to try to feel colors:
Lie on different colored construction paper with your eyes closed/blinded. Try to observe how they feel different (19).
When trying to see aura, open your eyes halfway and look at the border of a person (88). Look near the person’s head and shoulders (104).
Observe visual and tactile aura differences on a body which is in pain somewhere that isn’t obvious physically.
Try scanning the aura of someone before and after they do math calculations in their head (78).

I tried to see auras but I couldn’t. Not surprised though; I didn’t think it would be easy.

One thing I disagreed with: that the majority of people can see auras, evidenced by the fact that people will say “that color doesn’t suit you” (87). I think that the colors that suit people are based on their physical appearance. For example, I think blondes look best in pastels, and brunettes look better in darker colors. White doesn’t look good on pale people, and brown doesn’t look good on people with brown skin. In general I think it’s best to avoid the exact same color as the skin, but to find similar colors of the same lightness or darkness as one’s hair.

Interestingly, Cayce sounded like he had low self-esteem and confidence in his knowledge when awake (108). He was very humble.

Very Interesting

This is a very interesting book. The beauty of heightening as strengthening our senses beyond the five we have always keep me in awe. It definitely requires lots of work and patience. This book teaches you the basics of getting started as well as explain what each color tells you about people and things once you began seeing auras. A good book to keep on hand.

I might pick this up again later in book form. My digital copy felt too woo-woo, nonlinear, and not very practical, but then why would I expect otherwise?

Clear and easy to understand

Full of examples, great info, the exercises to help you see the aura motivated me to buy it, it is more difficult than it seems.
