Disclaimer: I know the author personally and consider him a friend.

I grew up in (what some may consider ultra-)conservative Orange County, California. I was raised on many of the beliefs remarked upon in this book. However, having lived outside the USA for a time and now having returned to the US in this era of Trump and Brexit, I think the views expressed in this book were never more relevant than they are now. It simply is a must read, whether you are a conservative looking to examine and confirm your firmly-held beliefs, or a liberal or anyone in between, outside the spectrum... Basically anyone that may be trying to make sense of the decisions being made and perpetrated by parties in government.

We need to have a conversation about this, and I think it starts with the ideas presented in this book.
