She didn’t see anything at all, just a cold, dark void.
But she did hear music…
Leonor heard her music, the music she made with The Ravens, and she was glad it was waiting for her in the end.
Until everything went eerily silent, and she was pulled from the afterlife and thrown into the life after.
The life after death, the life after survival.
The life without her band—the men who will always hold her heart—but that’s how it has to be.
Because that music, their music is terrifying now, and it feels more like a jazz funeral trying to take her away for good.

This book was so dark and so good! I loved Leo and her men and I was so engrossed in their story. There was a lot of emotion and heartfelt/heartache all throughout! I couldn’t put it down and loved it cover to cover. Check your content warnings
This book is dark. It could possibly be one of the darkest ones I’ve read in a while. Like it’s darker than Haunting Adeline thought of being and the triggers? Yeah you need to take those into account big time. Now. All that aside, we will dive into this storyline. How emotionally entrapped it makes you. How your sucked into Leonor and her boys stories. How your heart might hurt with their ups and downs, the torment and sadness they must go through all while trying to live a life they’ve always been meant to live together. I cried. I cried a lot honestly, something I don’t usually do but Leo’s story made me want to wrap her in the biggest hug and love her men for being there for her each time. But on those moments I saw her break, I loved seeing her grow into this sassy, mouthy, rebellious, rockstar (literally) who has the biggest heart. This book is whole heartedly a dark DARK Why Choose Rockstar Romance. But it’s worth the read. I loved the plot. The emotions. The captivating storyline and characters and they progressed. And the biggest twist, how this book is like a quirky twist retelling of Poe’s The Raven. There’s these small details you just love if you like poes work. I wanna know more after that ending though. Like I NEED to know what’s going to happen to their story after everything!
THIS!! This was a beautifully written book about trauma, growth and love! I laughed, cried, raged and was on edge. This is a perfect example of why I love RH so much. You get everything you need and want in a man and don't have to pick between anyone but that being said I loved every one of these men so much I couldn't possibly pick myself. The FMC goes through so much trauma and growth - rinse & repeat. I vibed with her so much I thought she was perfectly relatable and I connected easily with her. I loved the found family trope the most, I think it was beautiful and so fulfilling. Take me back to yesterday when I can re read this for the first time!
This was the best book ever I have read. My weakness is a reverse harem book and being a emotional rollercoaster. Made me so many emotions. And omg the spice 🥵🥵🙈🙈 it's a 5 stars 100%. Everyone should read it if you love reverse harem but read the triggers first. Need more books by this author.
DNF This is a dark rev Harem, and you jump right in learning about Leo and her Traumatic past slowly. I read a lot of rh, and I felt sort of a connection to Lucky, but the other guys to me had no connection, and when you read a rh, you need these characters to vibe. There is a stalker portion and some heavy mental with Leo trying to heal, but I just couldn't stay plugged in. It felt more just like a mystery book, not that spark I need in rh.
I'm still wrapping my head around this book! WTF did I just finish?? So good.
I picked up this book because I was curious since the main characters are part of a band called “The Ravens”. I have followed for years a local band here in Maryland called “The Ravyns”. I knew the book was going to have Edgar Allen Poe references. What I didn’t expect was to be blown away by this book.
This is the first book that I have read from A. K. Graves. A. K. Graves is such a wonderful storyteller. Please, please just check the TWs before you start the book. This book is a very DARK romance and it does get pretty graphic.
Leonor is the lead singer of “The Ravens” and when the story starts she is barely holding on after a very tragic event that happened on the band’s 10th Anniversary gig, 3 years prior. This event not only changed her life but everyone in the band’s lives also.
Leonor has shut herself off from EVERYONE, except for her good friends Justine and Pierre. Justine was able to finally get Leonor out of her house for an art restoration job at a plantation in New Orleans.
One day, in the beginning of the story, Leonor had a confrontation with the owner (Collingsworth) of the plantation. Out of habit Leonor jumps in her car and calls Lucky. She hadn’t spoken to anyone in the band in close to 3 years.
This brings Lucky, Pete, Norm, and Mark literally running to meet her at her house. The guys know they have to tread lightly since Leonor is still very fragile. Can they help Leonor find her way? You will have to pick up the book to see.
Nevermore is a Reverse Harem love story (Chapter 14 - make sure you have a fan because it is soooooo steamy). All 5 character’s backstories will run you through an array of emotions.
I finished this on Saturday night and had a hard time sleeping because I didn’t see what was coming!!! Also, it only took me 3 days to read 626 pages because I did not want to put this story down.
Some of my favorite quotes are:
“I’m asking you to hang it there, to let these five beautiful souls reconnect and begin to heal the way they needed to, to finally fall in the love the way they deserved all along. Because as soon as things start feeling a little too perfect, I promise, I went in there and royally . . . . it all up.” - Leonor
“If you don’t come back to me, I will follow you to the other side and bring you back myself. I love you, my heart.” - Lucky
“If I’d have known this was what it was like to kiss Lucky, I would have insisted we start doing it the second I met him, and as often as humanly possible thereafter.” - Leonor
“My loft finally feels like a real home because of them. If they’re not careful, I won’t ever let them leave.” - Leonor
Wow This book I’m honestly not sure how to word things, not without giving away some of the best emotionally exhausting plot that will have you stepping back to say WTf did I just read…why do I want to read it again? This story is DARK, check, double check, then recheck the trigger warnings, unless you’re like me and should be looked at since diving into the darkest of dark stories blindly is my jam…if that’s the case, you’re headed for an interesting ride. The way she writes the characters feelings and responses in detail, it’s hard not to be immersed and experience it with them.
Nevermore by AK Graves @authorakgraves. AK is a new author for me that I am obsessed with already! Please read the trigger warnings!
Just wow! An amazing book about Leonor, Pete, Norm, Lucky & Mark! I LOVED this book so much! If you like RH, MM, Rockstars, TWs a mile long. If you like more romantic thrillers, then this is a book to read! 💜
Lenore is rediscovering herself after years of isolation. She was once the lead singer of The Ravens until a crazed fan cost her her sense of security and some of her body parts. Reuniting with her band mates brings Lenore comfort, but the boys have waited for their girl long enough and are ready for more. With a new fan scaring them all, Lenore has to weigh the pros and cons of a love that could drag them all under.
This was definitely a dark romance, with some heavy content and themes. That being said, I did enjoy the dynamic between Leo and her boys. The mental health rep is strong with this one, as well as some heavy medical trauma and an active *follower* scenario. I loved the New Orleans setting and the Poe references for some fun Easter eggs. Also, the found family aspect was very well done. My first book of the year was this new-to-me author, and I will definitely be checking out some of their blacklist!
This is a heavy book. And I mean that this is a very mentally heavy book. There is a lot in this book, and there's a lot to take in and a lot to wrap your head around. It's an amazing book, but you HAVE to pay attention to your triggers and know what you're walking into.
I first picked up this book because I love A.K. Graves. She is just a phenomenal author. The stories that she tells are always stellar. And this one is no different. It's just a pitch black romance that is graphic and leaves nothing to the imagination.
This book revolves around the main characters who all make up a well-known New Orleans band called “The Ravens. Personally, I have always been a fan of Edgar Allen Poe, so seeing all the references to him in this book was awesome and really a lot of fun for me. Even though this book was far from fun. But, the book itself did blow me away.
Our FMC Leo (Leonor) is the lead singer of “The Ravens”. Our journey with her starts with her trying to un-alive herself after her survives a horrific attack at “The Ravens” ten year anniversary concert. This event not only changed her life, leaving her scared, but it also changed the life of her 4 band mates and best friends.
Three years after that event we find that Leo's life has become that of a recluse, having shut herself into her condo, no longer playing music with the guys, no longer in contact with the guys. She only talks to her adopted mom, Justine. Justine manages to get Leo out of the house and working at the same plantation she works at restoring art.
Soon after we start our journey with Leo she has a stressful confrontation with the new owner, who is reaming out Justine, and after giving the owner (Collingworth), who Leo swears looks familiar, Leo jumps in her car and goes home. After arriving home, Leo starts to have a panic attack, and out of habit, she calls Lucky, one of the guys she was in the band with and one of our 4 MMCs.
As soon as Lucky hears her voice, he comes running with Pete, Norm, and Mark on right on his heels running to her house. They all know they have to treat her with “kid gloves” at first as they know she is not as strong as she once was. But, they hope they can help her see that she can be stronger than she once was, and they just want to help her.
Will Leo let the guys in? Will Leo find her inner strength? What's going to happen? How does Leo know Collingsworth? You're need to read Nevermore to learn those answers.
Nevermore is a reverse harem. It is hot. And you are going to learn all the characters' backstories, and that's going to put you through all your feelings. Their backstories are not all that easy to swallow. Together, all their backstories will run you through more emotions than you have ever gone through before. It is a lot to go through.
I finished this book in the early afternoon, so I had a lot of time to digest and really spend some time thinking about what I had read. I am a speed reader, so it took me two days to read 626 pages. I then took some time to think about what I had read. I had started to write this when my own family tragedy struck, and I put everything aside to grieve.
My Favorite Quotes Are:
“If you don’t come back to me, I will follow you to the other side and bring you back myself. I love you, my heart.” - Lucky
“My loft finally feels like a real home because of them. If they’re not careful, I won’t ever let them leave.” - Leonor
I have to warn you, from the very start, this is a haunting, dark, beautiful book. But, it is really deadly dark from the start.
A.K. Graves put it all in this book. They have woven a storyline perfectly filled with angst, gut-wrenching tragedy, heartache, loss, strength, forgiveness, the power of true love, and passion.
The roller-coaster ride that is Nevermore. I fell hard for Lucky, Mark, Pete, and Norm. They were still so traumatized and dealing with so much turmoil from the attack at that anniversary performance. No matter what they were going through, they just wanted to protect and uplift Leonor.
Leonor, AKA Leo, broke my heart over and over again. She ripped me apart several times over. And yet, the strength she had was something else.
It seemed like Leo faced tragedy after tragedy, and she was haunted by a past that would never let her go. A.K. Graves gives you all the good and the bad in black and grey and doesn't hold anything back. She shows you in detail all the struggles mentally and physically the Leo endures. I felt like I was the one going through it all. I absolutely loved the strong, fierce, wild main character she absolutely delivers.
Leo, Lucky, Mark, Pete, and Norm have this other worldly connection that you see throughout this book. And as you learn how they came to be in each other lives, it's like it was destiny and fate that they were meant to be together. They are twin flames five times over. They are soul mates that are meant to be.
They have this perfect banter between them all. It's just spot on. You know right away that these are five people who have been together for a long time and belong together and just know each other perfectly. They just get each other in every way a person can get another person.

There's something seriously wrong with me. I don't know what has me not only reading books like this but loving the living day lights out of them and wanting to add them to my trophy shelf. And yes, if you like the following tropes I would recommend this book to you.
Dark Rockstar Romance Reverse Harem MM & Kinky Friends to lovers Second chance Found family Trauma linked/PTSD Stalker/Suspense Standalone
I didn’t like this book - it was boring and anticlimactic.
This book didn’t need to be a RH, there was slight chemistry between Leo and lucky but the rest there was nothing, the romance fell completely flat and the sex scenes felt unreal and not remotely spicy. Not to mention these guys were all nearly 40 and they really didn’t behave that way.
The mental illness rep didn’t come through and I felt it was portrayed badly, Leo’s behaviour was so conflicting (literally had a breakdown and complete panic attack, goes to get a mc d’s and knows she can’t wait to go back to the guys and talk) like the whole reaction was unreal. Not to mention this gal has severe flashbacks and hallucinations but the minute history is repeating itself, she’s just so unbothered - not delusional - but just couldn’t give two shits.
Why mention she had diabetes and then completely ignore that throughout the entire book, I didn’t expect meds and insulin to be mentioned 24/7 but she drops the bomb of how she has to do all this stuff so she doesn’t die and then it’s never mentioned again? Just why bother, this could of been a great chance of representing diabetes and instead it fell flat.
Whilst I’m ranting, for me this doesn’t fall as a dark romance, this is a trauma book with some ‘romance’, but it’s not a dark twisted romance with unredeemable men, it’s normal men with a gal with trauma. Yes it has dark themes but I’m fed up of reading books marketed as dark romance when it’s not.
This is a dark reverse harem with lots of blood and traumas. We jump straight into the traumatic story of Leo and slowly revealing her past. We get to know her boys and their relationship. I didn’t find much chemistry it felt like reading the script how to mix them all together one or two at the time so they finally fall into polyamorous relationships which was past due. I find myself skipping through some pages about them and I was more interested in her stalker but this was just swept and forgotten at times and brought back when needed to add to the story. I think there should be more of a investigation and just letting all go and wait and not talk about just made ma anxious. There were intentionally put in paragraphs to make me wonder about the police investigation but still it was very lacking. Anyway it was an ok RH story with added crime without real chemistry. On the plus side, I felt for her and what she went through, she was a fighter and I loved that about her.
“If you don’t come back to me, I will follow you to the other side and bring you back myself. I love you, my heart.” - Lucky ❦
Hauntingly, beautiful. This book had a choke hold on me from the very first chapter. This is one of the darkest stories I’ve read in a while, so be warned.
This book had it all, a storyline written so brilliantly filled with so much angst ,gut-wrenching tragedy, heartache, loss, as well as strength and forgiveness showing the power of true love and passion.
This was one hell of a ride. I definitely fell hard with instalove for Lucky, Mark, Pete, and Norm, A.K.A The Raven boys .These guys, although dealing with so much turmoil of their own, had only one thing on their mind, and that was protecting and uplifting Leonor.
Leonor had my heart just breaking. Facing one tragedy after the other haunted by the past.I appreciated that this book gives you all the nitty gritty all the black and grey and didn't hold back in show casing in detail the struggles mentally and physically that she was enduring. It felt so real. I love a fierce, strong-willed, main female character, and she delivers.
The five of them together have this incredible connection that you see throughout the book and learn how they came to be in each others lives. It's as destiny had forged the path for all of them to be together.
The banter between all five of them was spot on.You immediately get that feeling that they've been together for so long that they just get one another so well. It was funny, sweet, and then super spicy, with a whole lot of 🔥 Let me just tell you the scenes in this book 🫠 These men have no issue with expressing their sexual energies and preferences.
This was captivating from beginning to end and had me on the edge of my seat. I would highly recommend reading this book.

Let me start by saying, I’m a MASSIVE fan of A.K. Graves. This woman has an insane ability to turn the darkest, most morbid tropes into hilarious masterpieces with characters so unforgettable, they’re forever etched into my little black heart. I mean, who could ever forget Zan, Victor, or Wraith of Carmarthen?
So, when I heard about “Nevermore,” her latest Why Choose Rockstar Romance, I was expecting the same stellar, morbid darkness interlaced with the most amazing black humor you can imagine from an American writer.
But here’s where things get tricky: “Nevermore” isn’t like her other books. Yes, it’s troubled, yes, it’s full of pain, tragedy, and suffering. The main characters—Leo, her boys, and her family—are absolutely amazing. The story is so packed with twists and turns, my head is still spinning. The music I imagined in my head while the band played is still ringing in my ears, so emotional and bittersweet.
However, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing. It didn’t hit me the way I was expecting. Don’t get me wrong—it’s beautifully written, dripping with emotions on every page, showcasing the full spectrum from black to white. The five rock stars are depicted brilliantly, each with their own unique backgrounds and personalities. The thriller elements are worthy of a true crime story, the kind that keeps you up at night and gives you nightmares.
Yet, the story felt too familiar, too reminiscent of many other RH books I’ve read. I didn’t find Ms. Graves’ usual originality shining through in “Nevermore” like it does in her other works.
That said, and all of this is strictly my personal opinion, better taken with a grain of salt—“Nevermore” is still a must-read. Just be sure to heed the triggers and content warnings; they’re quite strong.
In sum, “Nevermore” may not have been exactly what I anticipated, but it’s a raw, emotional ride that A.K. Graves’ fans—and lovers of dark, twisted romances—won’t want to miss.
OMG! This was one hell of a beast of a story! It was filled with gut-wrenching tragedy, emotional turmoil, insane heartache, heartfelt forgiveness, passion and love. My heart was in a chokehold the whole way through, and I fell hopelessly in love with these incredible characters. They took me on one hell of an intense rollercoaster ride that I never wanted to end.
Leonor had my heart just aching. The demons that haunt her and are constantly trying to drown her, have tried but failed in breaking her completely. She is stronger than she looks and even if she has had a few serious setbacks, Leonor fights and survives. When her life has hit the lowest of the lows and she needs something more to survive, she does the one thing she never thought she would again. She calls her lifeline and they in turn race back to bring Leonor into the fold once again.
These boys, Lucky, Norman, Peter and Mark, had me crying over how incredible they are and how much they truly love Leonor. The five of them together have this incredible otherworldly connection that cannot be broken. But they had to be apart to start healing, and back together they are a force to be reckoned with.
I loved the banter between all five of them. It was funny, sweet, adorable, and super spicy too. These men have some dirty filthy mouths on them, but I loved every sinful moment of it and could not get enough. And the spice – OMG – it was EVERYTHING and so much more! Get ready to have soaking panties because these men are sure to keep you sopping wet!
Brilliantly written with such poignant plot weaving that had me utterly captivated from beginning to end. The twists and turns and suspense had me on the edge of my seat, aching to know what the hell was going to happen next. Loved it and can’t wait for more.
“If you don’t come back to me, I will follow you to the other side and bring you back myself. I love you, my heart.”- Lucky
Holy heck!!! If you are looking for a book with a little bit of everything give this one a read….reverse harem with MMMMF, suspense/thriller vibes, attempted unaliving & actual unaliving times two (well 5 but only 2 we care about), found family, bi awakening….I’m tell you honestly there’s a little bit of everything Leonor, Lucky, Pete, Norm & Mark were all part of the band The Ravens for 10 years….at their 10 yr anniversary concert a horrible turn of events landed Leonor & Lucky in the hospital & Pete, Norm & Mark in prison…when Leonor came to she spiraled for 3 yrs pushing her bandmates away…after a random confrontation with her boss she picks up her phone & dials one of the men she lost contact with 3 yrs earlier….thankfully that one phone call led to her 4 bandmates running right back into her arms….with her 4 men back in her life they all start having a severe case of Deja vu…that’s where their story really takes off…twists & turns you don’t see coming until they smack you in the face….I had part of the ending figured out but couldn’t figure out how to connect all of the dots up till the very end…& I loved the epilogue!!! It was probably my favorite part but don’t start at the epilogue or things won’t make much sense
Check the trigger/content warnings…there are quite a few & some are really heavy & graphic (uh I did mention unalivings)….if you are like me & don’t trigger very easy give this book a read….parts of it did tug at my heart & I had a hard time putting it down
This book done ripped me to shreds, left me to rot, then put me back together again, all in A. K. Graves style. This book is dark and not talking about, 'Oh, the lights went out dark.' No, this book is pitch black at moments and will leave you gasping and wondering what you just read and if you are ok!! This book starts off right on a tragedy and spirals from there. We get to see a fierce FMC become strong again and learn to love herself and those around her once more. We also get 4 insanely hot rockstars who never gave up and knew their girl would come back one day. They 5 are in for a fight of their lives. The twisted and emotional ways they go through are also amazing and show just how much the author put into searching for mental health and the trauma ptsd people can go through. It was so beautifully written. Of course, we also have the plot twist that no one ever sees coming that leaves you reeling as well and wondering how you missed all the signs.
Please check the list of trigger warnings before reading this book, as again, this book has pitch black moments. It is OK for a book to not be for everyone. There is also a bonus epilogue at the end to help fully heal up your shredded art.
MFC, lead vocals of a band and her 4 mmc band mates go through the most traumatic almost 2 decades together. You're allowed into the first event and it's repercussions through past tense, but you follow our heavy metal band through their reunion and the trauma they endure. CHECK YOUR TRIGGERS! READ THE CONTENT WARNINGS! There is a lot of distressing situations depicted and your mental health matters. *I can read literally anything and I managed to gag*
On and off throughout the book I was riding the emotional Rollercoaster. From having the urge to cry, to feeling the stress, down to the frustration each person went through. This group cannot catch a break and our MFC, I have no words honestly. It broke my heart.
Out of all the characters, I absolutely fell in love with Justine. She is my spirit animal. I appreciate the older side approach to everyone's ages. It makes it feel less creepy to be reading. I love the dark edgy vibes. Always been head over heels for Edgar Allan Poe so my love for this book was instant. The spice was terrific (if you vibe with the tropes). The surprises towards the end had me either kicking my feet I was so happy or so shocked I had to take a breather. Great book! It belongs on my shelf right next to my c.e. poe workings.
I cannot tell you enough how much I enjoyed this book!!! Based on past books that I've read by A.K., I knew I was in for one wild ride. One that would leave me as giddy as a school girl and fuming at the mouth when things hit the fan. There were several moments where I felt like I was getting whiplash from all the chaos. Which is exactly how I love my books. Leaving me with ALL of the raw emotions. This book was intense. Raw pain that Leo has been dealing with since before the book started to all these moments during it... The STEAM that hit when she finally allowed her heart to open up again had me sweating! Watching her grow past all that pain was intense, but it was so worth it! The love she feels for her band was well worth the time it took for them to all prove to her that it was worth it. And to see her reunite with something she absolutely enjoys? I was giddy!
Be ready, y'all. These book is gonna drag you through ALL the feels. It's even going to have you screaming in a rage during certain parts. But there's also going to be sweet moments and steamy ones that'll have you blushing! I can't WAIT to get a physical copy cuz I'll be rereading this amazing book all over again! So if you enjoy some why choose, rockstar with a twist of Poe? You'll love this book!!!
#longlivetheravens seems the appropriate place to start since this book will live on with me for eternity. The feelings and true emotions I felt while reading this book are some I have NEVER witnessed reading. This book is dark yet beautiful. The plot is amazing and will keep you turning the pages to find out what is next. The tears will be real, the giggles you will experience, and the spice will leave you wishing you were involved. It will test your heart strings because of how very real it all feels. I felt myself relating to the main character as she fights her depression to find the true light in her life. While loaded with triggers and moments that'll leave you crying, this book is also filled with love, acceptance, laughs, and light. Men who worship their woman, protect her, and accept her. Five truly beautiful souls working through trauma to be better for one another. A.K. Graves created something PHENOMENAL while writing Nevermore, and everyone needs to read it! I know I already want to reread it, and I just finished. This book is spectacular, and I highly recommend it as well.
Please check trigger warnings ⚠️ they're there for a reason.
Oh how I want to hate A.k. Graves for this book in the best way. I want to through my Kindle against the wall and scream right now while reading this book. This book gives you so many different emotions. When I firsted started this book was heartbreaking because Leonor was in a very dark place. She had me wondering how this book was going to go but things finally started to change. Leonor is a strong, beautiful and tragic fmc who has been through hell and back. Her story is full of trauma that she is trying to survive through. But one day things change and click for her. When they do this beautiful and tragic story bring life insurance girl and you get to meet who she was before. With the MMC's you get everything you need and want in a man and don't have to pick between anyone but that being said I loved every one of these men so much I couldn't possibly pick myself. How emotionally entrapped it makes you. How your sucked into Leonor and her boys stories. How your heart might hurt with their ups and downs, the torment and sadness they must go through all while trying to live a life they’ve always been meant to live together.
This story was a heart breaking one. I was so excited when this came out because it was a story I know that I could relate to, and I was not wrong. This was engrossing and such a page turner I wanted to slow down and not reach the ending, but it was so good that I just barreled through. The Ravens were at the top of their game when the tragedy struck them all. Leonor died that night along with The Ravens. Nick, Pete, Norm and Mark were all just living but not a life that they had before. This was along the lines of a twisted version of Poe's The Raven and A.K. Graves was pulling me in on every single page. It was dark and hit on several things like mental illness, S/A, unaliving and how the trauma still lives inside each and every one of them. Leo is resilient and such a strong FMC that I feel in love with her heart. The Ravens come to her when she opened a small crack in her wall that she had erected after the attack. After 3 years of being alienated they refuse to let Leo go through anything else without them. Please check the trigger warnings in this book as it has some dark themes.
Even though I am writing this review, I am still unsure how to rate this book, so the rating might change in the future. Putting this emotional story into a star rating is rather difficult.
This book isn't for the weak-hearted and I don't mean that to imply it has the most graphic, unheard of material written, I am saying that in reference to the unrelenting chaos and tragedy that surrounds the FMC and the MMCs in this story.
This book deals with very heavy physical, mental, and emotional traumatic scarring that many may find relatable. It may also be a cathartic experience for some readers who have gone through similar experiences or situations.

Leonor has been through hell and back. She really doesn’t know why she keeps going. Except she does , Justine and Pierre. They make sure she keeps going and love her every step of the way. And they are like parents to her, and that’s why she keeps going. But one day and some snide remarks later, she loses her cool and accidentally makes a phone call that she can’t believe she made. Will she be able to recover? Will she be able to follow through and speak to the person who answers? Will she be able to move forward in life?
This story. Oh, this story. Talk about something that you read and it keeps you in an emotional chokehold, this is it. The story keeps you pulled in and emotionally invested in everything. There’s not a whole lot I can say because I don’t want to give anything away, but wow. Strap on because this is one heck of a ride and I’m not mad I took it. Loved this book and I’m so glad I read it.

Little hard to get into… and a little confusing at times but was a fun read! (Especially as I just got home from New Orleans!)
I didn’t get hooked with this book until I was half way through and even then it was ever hard to keep my attention. I could tell that the story was amazing and I absolutely wanted to read it, it just felt like it dragged at times and just didn’t click with me.
That being said these characters were amazing! I definitely feel for Leo and all that she went through. She sees herself as this weak person who is just barely surviving when really she this incredibly strong woman! And those guys I loved how all there personally where so different from each other but they still complement and completely work together!
And that ending! Still not over it… Justine & Pierre did not deserve that 😭
Leonore, or Leo, is a woman hiding, someone destroyed her world and those who had been in it. Shut away, recovering for three years, still not healed. She paints to make money and help get her out of her apartment. She has PTSD, has two people who completely look after her as parents do. She is damaged, broken by what occurred; it is too horrifying to think about. Her safe space was taken…along with who she was.
When the owner of the mansion where she is restoring art makes a snap judgement, Leo goes off…and finally, is ready to start living again. She calls her family; will they come back? They suffered immensely that night too…did things, horrible things to save her. When they come back, things will change for the better, for all of them. What once was something they never thought could happen…will. Just as things are going good again…a ghost reappears! Things will happen again…horrid things!
Can she survive a second time? What will they do differently this time? How much can one person expect to take and not fully break? It will either be sink or swim! They will have hard choices to make…and live with those choices. Can they catch him a second time? How can he be back? This story is very dark, intense, many triggers, you were warned…expect not to be able to walk away until the end! A delightfully dark intense story that sends shivers down my back! Told from the soul and heart. I can just feel this coming from the author…one wonders…how much truth is behind this story?
Want to go on a dark emotional rollercoaster? Read this book? Want to fall in love with a literal band of characters who fight and battle and support each other? Read this book.
My heart definitely went through it during the course of reading Nevermore by AK Graves. In all of the positive ways and also quite possibly all of the negative ways. I swooned 🥹, I laughed 😂, I 🥵😉🤫, I cried 😢, I grieved 😭, I yelled 🤬 (at my phone, at the characters, at the author). There were definitely parts of this book that weren't easy to read, not because they weren't beautifully written- they were- but because I just did not want these characters that I loved to go through some of it (check your triggers warnings). However, Leonor and the Ravens are nothing if not survivors. Lesser stupid brains might call them a freak show, and while they definitely know how to put on a show, it's a show I would give anything to see 🤩.
This book hooked me from the start, blending moments of grief and happiness that make you cry and laugh.
Lenor is an incredibly strong character. Her journey to overcome trauma and find beauty while battling demons is inspiring. The portrayal of mental health struggles is spot on. Lucky, Pete, Norm, and Markus provide great support while dealing with their own issues.
The characters' stories fit perfectly together. Watching them support each other and refuse to give up is moving. The book addresses mental health and is suspenseful with unexpected twists.
The story is an emotional rollercoaster. Lenor barely survives when her boys return, but they refuse to give up on her. A.K. Graves shows that even with broken pieces, love is possible.
The twist surprised me, and the bonus chapter was perfect! This powerful, emotional journey is highly recommended.
This was my first book of A.K. Graves and I really enjoyed this poly dark rockstar romance.
Leonora has been through a lot. Her trauma is so bad that she's been a zombie for the past 3 years since that traumatic event. She has shut everyone out and feels no emotions, until one day she finally feels a spark of something.
The reunion between Leo, Lucky, Pete, Norman and Markus was the absolute core of this book. Emotions run high and not everything is plain sailing. Leo wasn't the only one to endure a lot of pain and trauma 3 years ago and as we meet her bandmates/loves we start to understand what truly went down in the past.
Just as the band are starting to heal there is a threat of an old danger lurking, and they can't seem to figure out why they are doing this.
Nevermore is a rollercoaster of emotions with tremendous highs, and gut wrenching lows. Be mindful of the content warnings, if you are sensitive to certain things. It is a big book, but it's definitely worth it!
