They say finding a mate is the most magical moment in our lives. What they don’t tell us is what happens to girls who aren’t perfect.
My life was derailed when I was sent to prison for murdering a man I don’t remember killing. Which is a shame, because if I’m doing the time, I most assuredly deserve to be able to relive the moment when my tormentor screamed his last.
Shifters aren’t meant to be locked up. As a shifter that can’t shift, it’s a death sentence, and I resigned myself to dying in prison.
When an unexpected opportunity to escape presents itself, I take it...even if it means going on the auction block and being sold to men who are so desperate for a mate, they’ll settle for even me. Three beautiful, domineering men lay claim to me, and for the first time in my life I have a chance at a bright future.
The only problem is the man whose son I killed. He wants vengeance, and he’s willing to do anything to get it. If I want to come out of this alive and save my potential mates, I need to figure out how to shift or we’re all dead.
Meet the Felicia, Preston, Darius, and Elias.

5/5 This is what a novella should be! Heck, it's what a bunch of novels and series should be. Clear protagonists with clear motivations and personalities. Clear villain and what drives them. Excellent beginning, middle and end with no stupid cliffhanger or unesolved plot points. I want more but I'm also satisfied. Honestly, I want this book broken down into a series because there is so much to be explored and if a novella is this good I have high hopes.
I am eagerly looking forward to exploring more of this author.
Well written novella. It’s hard to pack the right level of character building and detail in the novella format to feel complete and still have a full plot story structure. It could have been made longer with additional depth or even the start of a bigger series but it’s complete as is and a quick read if it never does. You’re not left hanging.
This book was a huge letdown. I used to adore this author. However, over the last couple years, her writing style has become increasingly full of dichotomies and plot holes. It seems the longer the book or series, the more the narrative is lost. Academy of Assassins series seems to be the most well edited of her more recent works.
Engaging story. It was short, but it is a novella. It made me want more - more of the story, more of the characters, more of the world. To me, that means the author accomplished the goal.
