Paul Numerof was studying chemistry in college when WWII began. He became part of the Special Engineer Detatchment in Los Alamos working on a top secret project in a remote, desert location. In this memoir, Dr. Numerof tells the story of the historic developments of the Manhattan project in a personal way, giving a unique view of this exciting time in science. Inspired by his work in Los Alamos, Numerof earned his doctorate in chemistry after the war and put his knowledge to use in researching and developing nuclear medicine.

this a beautiful read of an extremely brilliant, accomplished, family Man, who directly served in Los Alamos developing the Atomic Bomb. Personally written, an autobiography, intimentely telling his personal story and experience. Beautiful!
