বিনোদ ঘোষাল-এর জন্ম ২৮ ফেব্রুয়ারি ১৯৭৬ হুগলি জেলার কোন্নগরে। কলকাতা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বাণিজ্যে স্নাতক। মফস্‌সলের মাঠঘাট, পুকুর জঙ্গল আর বন্ধুদের সঙ্গে বড় হয়ে ওঠা। ছোটবেলা থেকেই ছবি আঁকা আর অভিনয়ের দিকে ঝোঁক। গ্রুপ থিয়েটারের কর্মী হিসেবেও কাজ করেছেন দীর্ঘদিন। কর্মজীবন বিচিত্র। কখনও চায়ের গোডাউনের সুপারভাইজার, শিল্পপতির বাড়ির বাজারসরকার, কেয়ারটেকার বা বড়বাজারের গদিতে বসে হিসাবরক্ষক। কখনও প্রাইভেট টিউটর। বর্তমানে একটি সংবাদপত্রের সম্পাদকীয় বিভাগে কর্মরত। নিয়মিত লেখালেখি করেন বিভিন্ন পত্রপত্রিকায়। ২০০৩ সালে দেশ পত্রিকায় প্রকাশিত তাঁর প্রথম গল্প। বৃহত্তর পাঠকের নজর কেড়েছিল। বাংলা ভাষায় প্রথম সাহিত্য অকাদেমি যুব পুরস্কার প্রাপক। ২০১৪ সালে পেয়েছেন পশ্চিমবঙ্গ বাংলা অকাদেমির সোমেন চন্দ স্মৃতি পুরস্কার। তাঁর একাধিক ছোটগল্পের নাট্যরূপ মঞ্চস্থ হয়েছে।

This very well made hardcover is a collection of 25 stories from a relatively new author. The stories deal with people and events whom we read about in newspapers, occasionally watch on TV, come across during our train journeys or in the bus-stop/taxi-stand noticing them from the corner of our eyes, and yet, NEVER dealing face-to-face. We forget them in our everyday drudgery and, following the simple principle of "know less, endure less", we gloss over them. These are the people who walk along the periphery of our lives, and the author has captured their lives, their pains, their joys and losses, in these very well-told stories. His style is sharp, concise, and yet a little romantic. Recommended.

প্রত্যেকটা গল্প মন ছুঁয়ে গেছে। এটা মাস্ট পড়ার বই। না পড়লে মিস করবেন এইরকম শৈলী।
