After a decade-long struggle with mental distress, addiction, eating disorders, and profound self-hatred, Vironika Tugaleva faced a change or die. Reluctantly, she chose to change. Nothing could have prepared her for what came next. Vironika’s life as a suffering cynic ended when she found herself having a spiritual awakening. Drawing from first-hand experience, what Vironika says in this important and timely book isn’t fanciful fluff or indoctrinating dogma. Her approach to healing, love, and spirituality is unconventional, deep, and refreshingly real. Winner of the Readers' Favorite silver medal for best self-help book of 2013, The Love Mindset offers a surprisingly simple look at how we can heal our relationships with ourselves and with each other. If you feel like you’re too broken to fix, hold out your last shred of hope and give Vironika a try. She won’t disappoint you. She will teach you about the power of love, the purpose of life, and the potential of people united. She will show you to yourself.
Like every human being, Vironika Tugaleva is an ever-changing mystery. At the time of writing this, she was a life coach, world traveler, and award-winning author of two books (The Love Mindset and The Art of Talking to Yourself). She spent her days writing, dancing, singing, running, doing yoga, going on adventures, and having long conversations. But that was then. Who knows what she's doing now? Keep up at vironika.org.
While I enjoyed parts of this book and the overall concept and meaning behind it, it was hard for me to get over the rambling nature and all the metaphors. There were many spelling and grammar errors too that took me out of it and also revealed the lack of expertise the author might have had at the time of publication. I'm interested in reading her next book, which I own and will read as part of the Yoga with Adriene book club. I hope she has grown as a writer and will give more practical advice and solutions in that book, since she did not give any in this book.
Vironika Tugaleva has created a real Tour de Force in her book The Love Mindset. She leaves no stone unturned in exploring the truth that Love is not something to seek, to gain, or to experience, instead it is who we are.
Like the best TV detective, Vironika lays out step-by-step, the falsehoods that run our lives. She dismantles with consummate ease, our distorted belief systems that declare we are to seek outside of ourselves for love or happiness or power. She refutes lovingly and effectively, any attempts we may make to say "But I'm not seeking outside of myself for Love." Oh yes you are! And Vironika shows this with hard and fast evidence from the 'real world' and from our daily lives.
There is power and authority in her words, and that authority we find, has been gleaned from her own emotional traumas and the self loathing she had to experience, before she was able to fully embrace her own Love Mindset. Her sharing is raw, and beautiful, eloquent and powerful. So if you're ready to have your world shaken up, dismantled, investigated, and then lovingly put back together again, this is the book for you! I highly recommend it."

"If I had two words to describe The Love Mindset, they would be: fresh and powerful. This is because when I read it, something grabbed hold of me like it was the first time I'd seen a book in 5 years!
"Vironika shared herself in such a way that I instantly related to her. This actually helped me turn towards some personal matters I had regarding my own spiritual growth. It has also given me a fresh perspective on love itself.
The simple flow of the beautiful writing reaches out to you and opens the door which leads to a self-empowerment to access your own loving wisdom. As a consequence to this, the Love Mindset has made a thorough and lasting impression upon my heart. This is a book I will definitely return to."
The Love Mindset – An Unconventional Guide to Healing and Happiness by Vironika Tugaleva is about her journey from self hate – something all of us go through at one time or other – to self love, something most of us take a long time to achieve. The turning point is finding the love we so desperately need to survive.
Written in lucid, conversational style The Love Mindset convinces you that love heals all wounds. I personally believe this – although I did not always believe it. Experience is a good teacher, and the author, Vironika shares her own journey of spiritual awakening after a decade long mental health crisis.
As you turn the pages and read the words you may see yourself reflected in them, experiencing again, those feelings you never acknowledged or were too afraid to. Only this time, you’ll find yourself emerging victorious, overcoming whatever held you back from healing yourself.
Through The Love Mindset, Vironika guides us through the process of finding and keeping love and happiness in our lives. She urges us to awaken to our inner strength. Why try to be someone you aren’t?
The best message from the book is this: the power of love and using it to find ourselves. The love mindset is like a compass that always points to love. If you’ve struggled with the pain of isolation, loneliness, and self-destruction this book will help you heal.
I enjoyed Vironika’s analogies throughout the book.
I loved this beautiful book, and appreciated the author's powerful message about love, but I think that a person needs to be ready to receive the messages in the book. I don't think a skeptical or angry person would enjoy it as much as I did, but I think everyone should still give it a try. The author explains many of her past hurts and disappointments and I think most people could relate to what she went through.
I found the book very engaging, and I was able to read it in one sitting. Even so, I will pick up the book in the future to read again. There are some good lessons and advice within the pages of this book, and I think it would be helpful to me to revisit them from time to time.
A couple chapters stood out for me in particular. It was interesting to see them in this book as they deal with some things I am trying to work out at this time. I was happy to see that the author and I have very similar thoughts on many things, and I really felt that I was on the right track with the healing that I need to do. I felt very comforted by the words, and I felt any tension I had just float away. That might sound a bit cliché, but I truly felt at peace while reading this book.
I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads. A big thank you to Vironika Tugaleva as well!
I have read your book "The Love Mindset" and to be honest, I have been reading different parts again at different times. It is very easy, logical reading yet it has so many wonderful examples of what love is, where to find it and how it is nurished that the book leaves one with the desire to absorb every detail. It can be read from beginning to end, like a novel, or by reading seperate chapters, as a guide. It is one of the very few books I have read that is so complete in its true understanding of the subject, in this case love, that it inspires the reader to read it again because it is so complete. It is like a delicious cake that is filling when first tasted but no crumb is left behind because it is so exquisite. You relish every morsel and do not want miss a single piece.
Congratulation, Vironika, not only for a wonderfully written book, a guide to finding happiness and a new way of living by openning oneself to love but also for helping so many people with your love and your talent in transmitting the easy path to "The Love Mindset". Wishing you the success you deserve and loving you for being so open.
Before I started reading this book the title "The Love Mindset" didn't mean anything to me. But after reading it, I can't think of a better title.
Vironika shares her own journey and deeply personal insights, and through that opens a path for readers to follow and reach healing and happiness.
In very simple terms: love is everything, it can heal all hurt and pain and provide the life you deserve. I got so much out of this book and will be going back to it time after time to re-read sections of chapters that I highlighted.
The book spoke to me from the first page and I was able to recognize myself in many sections. Just reading the book, before I've even tried to use any of the suggestions, I feel a sense of peace and hope.
Vironika Tugaleva’s captivating personal experience of growth really resonated inside me. I was forced to examine the facade I used every day and develop my relationship with myself; one which has been neglected for far too long. This book connects to the modern person and their reoccurring search for purpose in a disconnected and toxic social life. I highly recommend this book to anyone seeking to truly understand self actualization. You won’t be disappointed
I found this book was every good. This book helps one see what love is and what it can be, to stop looking without and start looking within. I think I'll be trying to put at least some of the hints and tips into practice and I think I'll be recommending this book to friends. It can't hurt to spread this book's positive message.
Appealing to a defined readership, this book found me and spoke to my soul. I know that sounds drippy, but it's the truth. Like many others, I needed to be shown the parts of me that are whole and lovable, and how to fix the parts that are broken.
Chapter after chapter, I was absorbed and drawn in.
When life spirals out of control and we weave a web of lies and deceit and you are constantly on a roller coaster of self destruction, both on a physical and mental level down to having eating disorders, a constant state of self rejection , eventually it has to catch up on us and we end u having to face reality. Its a very indepth soul searching book
I think this book is fantastic and a must read. Vironika helps us reconceptualize a core truth of our existence and in doing so set the foundation for a love mindset. <3

I found this book to be very deep and at times a challenging read. It made me go within myself and realize there were places where I lacked love. This brought about triggers for me that I had to deal with which was uncomfortable to say the least. I liked the author’s writing style and thought provoking. If you are interested in going deep within yourself for self-healing, this would be a great book to read.
It had been a long time since I read a book that left such a strong impression on me. It stirred something in me and I feel like I cannot be completely the same now, even if I wanted to. I know it may sound cliché but it made me realize essential things about me and life. I read a review some time ago - as I was going through the book - which deplored the lack of statistics and clear scientific facts but that did not bother me at all. That is not what I expected from the book. I closed the book knowing I would go back to it soon as I will need to re-read some parts and underline and comment others. The first reading, I just took everything in, but I definitely feel the need to go back to it more in depth in order to ignite concrete change in my life.
The Love Mindset by Vironika Tugaleva was a really wonderful book. Its more spiritual than what I would typically read but I found its writing rather beautiful and comforting. Some concepts resonated instantly - the idea of external "love triggers" we become addicted to - while others I struggled through with a bit of resistance - I admit for me it was the chapter on "villians." Overall, I found this book to be very comforting, particularly in a time when I'm working hard to heal and better show compassion to myself while also promoting positive changes. I want to buy this book for everyone I know. Let me end on a quote:
"I cannot be broken. I cannot be killed. I cannot fail. This is my identity. This is my core. I am infinite. I am permanent. I am unbreakable."
This is the type of book I’d describe as, “a bit hippy-dippy;” some mildly far-out philosophies on how to keep and open mind and open heart to let love in. I found the ending to be particularly powerful and resonating in that it emphasizes the concept of moving the seed from a poisonous location. Far too often we allow ourselves to stay in a place that just reinforces negativity, debilitating our ability to grow and prosper- to find love. This book was helpful at keeping my mind at peace and outlined a way of thinking to keep the peace and light in my life.
Book 13/30: the love mindset, an unconventional guide to healing and happiness by Vironika Tugaleva. I was confused About most of the metaphors used in this book . It felt like there was a lot of contradictory feelings about what love is, Apparently how one should act or could act and it just well... it lived up to its title of being unconventional. I'll respect that but not it is not my favorite guide so far about self love. Tidbits were useful for quick quotes but overall I was mostly confused by it's message.
A very loving and uplifting book that encourages you to practice self-compassion and love. The author, Vironika, tells her story of self-loathing throughout the majority of her life, mostly in her teenage years. This book should be recommended to all teenage girls in Western society going through similar feelings. But it's meant for anyone to read and I felt very happy after finishing it.
A truely inspiring book. I came away knowing I had learned so much. I began to see my life from a whole different perspective. It explained so much about my negative experiences and that they could work for good in my life once I have a love mindset. Thank you for enriching my life I a profound way
I don’t think there’s a section of the book I haven’t highlighted, screenshotted or just pined over. Beautiful. Thank you for bringing this into our lives 💜
wow, so not for me! no science at all behind this one, just someone thinking that 'love' can cure everything--no medications or other types of therapy needed. very generalized and poorly researched (sweeping false statements, violence is rising like a virus, etc.), but i only got about 1/4 of the way through so not really rating it or giving it a full review. who knows, maybe the other 3/4 was real helpful advice based on solid evidence.
