smart, skilled writing that reminded me how good books for teenagers from the 80s were. of course i was one then, and i have to keep reminding myself that i'm a grown woman and today's YA fiction was NOT WRITTEN FOR ME, but this was still a nice corrective to a few of the things i've read recently.
