They are the shadows. They are the inbetween…neither day nor night but existing in both. They guard and fight to keep the two worlds and their creatures apart.
Stella has always had a weakness for the dark so much so that she craves it like her next breath. While her friends would laugh at her weird moods, she has never felt anything more invigorating than sitting in lonely darkness. But one night, as restlessness strikes again, she finds herself face to face with the less peaceful facet night has to offer...
Making sure that humans stay to the light and darker creatures to the night, is a job he revels in. Until he meets Stella. Nero has never met a woman like her and soon realizes why: she is a Halfling; half shadow and half human, and an evidence of illicit interactions that is usually destroyed at birth, if not before. Nero knows the rules all too well but forbidden desire runs hot and before he knows it he pleads the King for four weeks. Four weeks in which he has to train her. Four weeks to show them that there is enough shadow inside of her...so that she may live.
Lilou has this way of writing slow building romances that blend action and friendships into one really interesting story. This was no exception.
I loved Nero; he kicked arse, was really caring of his team and sounds like a great bed partner ;P
Stella was pretty cool, too. She didn't give in at any point, not when being attacked by demons or tested for her abilities. She was strong willed and one really lucky girl to land Nero.
I liked the concept of the story, it was entirely new to me and I was intrigued how it would play out. I wasn't disappointed and will be looking forward to other books in the series and by the author.
This book had me from page one. It was amazingly written. Everything in my opinion was detailed out perfectly. I fell in love with all of the characters. Stella and Nero were seriously awesome. I could read about them all day and all night. I loved how they were shadow touched and moved in the shadows. The story here was great! I don't want to spoil anything though. Stella found herself in this book and Nero found himself they grow in what little time they have. I really say that I hope I get to read more about these characters, all of them. I can't wait to read the next book from this author and review it. I recommend this book to all who are just book lovers at all. I believe that you will love this one. 5 Stars Definitely!! :)
This was a sweet story, with a little bit of danger and a little bit of romance. I loved the backstory of the shadow roamers, and the forbidden offspring. Stella was like able and Nero was yummy. I would read more from this author.
