Book #1
I am shaming myself for having not picked up this book sooner. I saw The Proposition floating around for some time now and I was definitely intrigued but, I had such a long TBR list. I finally had a break and was able to pick this one up and boy I am so happy! Sloane Michaels is my new BBF (book boyfriend forever) and I am so thrilled that there are two more books in this series. I have been a big fan of Jennifer Lyon's since her Wins Slayer Hunters series, so there was no doubt in my mind that this series was going to be just as good. I was completely floored by The Proposition. Some may call if Fifty-esque, and it is to a point but, it is so much more than another FSOG. Jennifer has brought alpha to a new level with Mr. Michaels and has completely captivated me as a reader.
"No one had ever made her feel this.. sensually savored. Worshipped and wanted."
~Kat
Kat Thayne is a scarred woman. She has experience trauma and confusion and it cost her the life she had settled for. For me it was a terrible experience that Kat had but, I'm beginning to think it may have been the catalyst for amazing things to come her way. Enter Sloane Michaels. The night he lays eyes one Kat he feel a familiar pull to her but, can't place where he has seen her. When she dashes out of the room and follows her and ends up saving her from another attack. Kat refuses to play the "swoony, fall at her saviors feet" card. Instead the strike a deal. Kat will accompany Sloane to any events where a plus one is required/needed and Sloane will teach Kat to defend herself. But these two? I felt like I should be covering my eyes because they just might spontaneously start devouring each other in the middle of a public place. They have an insane amount of chemistry and it is some of the hottest that I have read.
"But she couldn't shake the sensation that Sloane Michaels had been to hell. And he hadn't found his way back."
~Kat
When Kat and her parents and ex come to blows at her brothers engagement party she is forced to relive parts of her attack and make a choice between Sloane and her family. I can't really say I was surprised by the outcome, once you read more about Kat's past you'll want to applaud her like I did for her composure and courage. I have a feeling these two are going to be the best thing that happened to one another. They have such dark pasts but, they find the light in one another and I can't wait to find out their tribulations and experience their trials. Reader commentary: about halfway in, I really wish she hadn't tapped out :)

Book #2
The second installment of The Plus One Chronicles picks up 3 days after the end of The Proposition. Kat has had time to come to grips with her encounter with David and is ready to continue training and being Sloane's plus one. This book was so important in building the back story for what comes to light in the third book. We are introduced to a new, and very important, character- Drake. He is as close to a father as Sloane has ever had. He quickly becomes just as important to Kat, as well. This was a very fast-paced and informational book. We get a lot of questions answered, but there are still a few left unanswered, and some new questions arise.

Sloane and Kat become more comfortable with one another, even if they are flummoxed by their feelings. They start to open up more. It was really a testament to both of their characters that they could open up about all of their thoughts and past and be a stronger couple on the other side. Kat continues to be just as headstrong and stubborn, while Sloan is just as, if not more, protective. Kat's demons are still chasing her, and she still can't remember what happened the night of her accident. So, while Sloane is trying to help her get back her memory, his demons come knocking too. With evil coming at them from both sides the pressure to resolve the conflict weighs down on Sloane and Kat.

This book held a lot of twists for me. It was a guessing game, I though I knew where it was headed and then it would go down a completely different route. And not only do Kat and Sloane have people coming at the from all angles, but a secret between the two left this book on a cliffhanger. I can't tell you how relieved I was that I could just swipe to the next page and find out what happens. The second installment to this fantastic series, is a great addition and a rollercoaster of emotions. It gave me a better glimpse at what makes both Kat and Sloane tick, and definitely eluded to some of their obstacles that will arise in the third book. Scroll down to read my review for the third, and final, installment!

Book #3
This book was probably the best of the whole series. It had me gasping, laughing, crying. Everything. Talk about a conclusion. Everything comes to head in the third, and final book, of Sloane and Kat's story. All my questions got answered, and my heart got broken a little bit along the way. But no worries, it was pieced back together :) This is a very "things aren't always what they seem" book. Kat and Sloane have so much to figure out and plan for, and that's not even including their personal relationship which is rocky at best in the beginning of Obsession. Drake becomes a rock for Kat, and vice versa. Drake is so similar to Sloane, that he is able to talk Kat through Sloane's inner thoughts, and help get the two back on track. Drake was basically a cure-all. Once Kat and Sloane made it past their rough patch, they went all in with their relationship. They began voicing their feelings more openly, and making long term plans with one another. And while Kat may not be able to understand or support Sloane's decision to deal with his past, she is willing to fight for him and their future, and he right there beside her.

Kat is taking a chance in her professional life with her bakery, which leads her to look at the pictures from her accident. While flipping through them she finds the key, that will open up a can of worms for her and Sloane. It was one thing after another in this book, and it never slowed down. Things become so intertwined that you won't even be able to guess what will happen, until it already has. If Kat and Sloane were tried through this whole series, this will be their ultimate test. They will have to withstand betrayal, death, and consequences to make it to the other side.

This entire series gripped me from beginning to end. Kat and Sloane are a new favorite couple of mine and while their story ends with Obsession, I will probably end up revisiting them quite often. The final installment especially, made me cry bad tears and good tears. And it was one of those books where everything moves so quickly, and the emotions have building the whole time and then they just hit you all at once. And trust me when I say that Kat and Sloane deserve the happiest of endings after all they went through. I highly recommend this series to everyone. It's got elements, that I think most romance readers will be captivated by. And with how busy this book got, it's safe to say that it is one of a kind. FYI: when I say busy, I don't mean crowded, this is an extremely well-written and well thought out book that I enjoyed immensely!

Happy Reading!

The basic concept of this story was two people who found each other, and both were living frozen lives. The thawing was hot, hot, hot! The plot had lots of the issues I love; their change of self-concept, the suspense, and of course the main theme of falling madly in love. When I read a contemporary romance I truly enjoy realistic stories of a couple falling in love. The building of this relationship was something that felt real to me. The couple came to life in me. That doesn't happen with every book I read.

“Just a kiss, Kitten.” “Kitten?” No one called her that. His mouth curved. “You’re skittish, wanting my touch, but afraid. Deciding if you want to claw me or purr for me. Like a kitten.” She lifted an eyebrow. “What if I claw you?” “Bring it, baby. That just means you want me to tame you until you purr.”

Sloane's character started out as an egotistical buffed up rooster! I kept saying to myself "cocky bastard", but Oh My, was he hot, and larger-than-life! And, I couldn't wait until he was the one tamed like a kitten. This was one of those stories that one of the characters out weighed the other. He was my dream man, a 6 ft 6 inch hunk of alpha honey. Rough, tough, and burly on the outside, but buried beneath was a gentle loving man. I loved Kat's character, but I was enchanted by Sloane. So, my reading experience was focused on him.

Kat fought for her independence, and fought to overcome her social fears. She was all the things I love in my heroines, sweet, loving, kind and independent.

Jennifer Lyon is one of my favorite authors. I love her stories, and her writing style. But, I have to admit I had some issues with certain aspects of the story. I also do not understand why the story was made into a trilogy. If I hadn't gotten the box set I would have been very upset with the way each book ended. However, neither issue hindered my enjoyment of this tale. Great read.

I'll add 5 stars to the already run of 5 stars!

Why? ---it was fun! I cost 99 cents! It was better written than 50 shades of gray, too. Not ONCE was anyone's "heart in their throat" (let alone a zillion times).

Sometimes the steamy parts got my playful side up---Played with my husband ---
This book was my 'go to' Kindle Sauna resting 'break' -reading-book (break from meditation) -in my hot box ----(steamy + steamy works nice together)! lol

This author must be FUN! She would make a great girlfriend! I'll be 62 next year.

I enjoyed "Baker Girl" and "Mr. Fantasy".

Any woman who says she doesn't like a little SLOAN-STYLE play in her life is just lying.
or.....
doesn't know what she's missing!

However ---I don't include a huge diet of books like this in my reading ---(a little dessert is treat and delicious)!

I really like this trilogy.
From the book to the book it was better and better, I think this last book was the best.
Kat is a woman with character. Wounded in body and soul, but thanks to Sloane finds the strength to overcome their weaknesses and dreams come true. Sloane is a man from a dream: not only strong and rich, but puts the welfare of his friends in the first place, helping them to achieve their goals, not looking at the cost. I liked him, from his first meeting with Kat. Plan plus-one from the beginning of their relationship could not come true. There were to many emotions in them, needing to be together.
I was expecting an erotic book, and I got a love story.

All I can say is WOW! It's not everyday that one comes upon a great book, now, add two more to the mix and you have a fantastic trilogy.
This is a riveting story with very interesting characters. Kat and Sloan's chemistry is off the charts, and even thought the story has its hot and steamy parts, it is truly compassionate and sweet. Be ready to have a box of Kleenex nearby because I can assure you you will need them while reading book 3.
I love the author's writing and every book leaves you wanting more. Fantastic story and a very talented writer. Highly recommended.

I just finished the boxed set for the Plus One Chronicles by Jennifer Lyon and I just absolutely loved it. Kat and Sloane are one of my top favorite couples and I am so glad that they got their happy ending. Sloane is a Billionaire and owner of SLAM (Gym) and is at the prime of his life but he is also seeking vengeance for the rape and murder of his twin sister when he was 16. This a goal that he has worked hard for with his mentor Drake and will not let anything gets in his way. Here comes Kat. She is the owner of Sugar Dancer (Bakery) and is at a wedding when she meets Sloane and sparks fly. Sloane wants her as his plus one, which means that she has to come to functions but he gets to have his way with her anytime he wants. She was “mugged” 6 years ago and was seriously injured while her fiancé at the time (David) didn’t do anything to stop it so she really has trust issues and is still at this time dealing with the ramifications of that assault. Sloane being a UFC fighter entices her with helping her train to defend herself but still has to let him have her in anyway she wants. No a bad deal if you ask me! Sloane is sexy, smart and very domineering and would be worth it for me. I do understand Kat and why she has her trust issues. Will she fall under Sloane’s spell? They both have secrets. Will they both be able to handle them when things spiral out of control? You will have to read and see...

I just loved this series. I thought the story flowed really well. There wasn’t anything I disliked about this story. It definitely took me on such an emotional roller coaster. I was upset, mad, sad, and happy. I love how a story is able to do this. I love how this story was setup to where the main characters fought hard to fall in love. It is always the mightier that fall and it is always the hardest. It was very enjoyable to read this! I honestly couldn’t put it down, was such a really quick yet beautiful read.

I loved the secondary characters. Shelly, Drake, John, Kellen, Diego. They were all just lovely and I enjoyed reading about them too. There are some sad moments that really got to me. I do not want to give anything away but you will be saddened but you will understand the freeing feeling that you will get.

If you are looking for a quick read that will leave more than satisfied this one will be for you. I promise, you will not regret it!

I loved this series and put my I reviews on each individual book on that book. As a whole, this was an awesome book. I loved the heroine, Kat. She was brutally attacked, abandoned by her family, plagued with fears and panic attacks but she never gave up. Sloane was the perfect alpha male plus he was hot and rich and a badass. His best feature was his willingness to let Kat shine by giving her the tools she needed to confront and get over her fears. There were bad guys, murders, sweet and funny best friends for cat, hot and badass best friends of Sloane's, even a car crash. In other words lots to love about this book. My only complaint is that it was a serial with Cliffhangers. I hate those and wait until the set comes out before I purchase anything. I really wish authors would quit doing this and only release a book when it's complete.

I usually don't read erotica, but this book had me sucked in from the start. I cannot get Sloan and Kat out of my head - their story is so tender. Kat needs to "feel;" she needs control over her life.Oddly enough, she is taught how to by a controlling man; and man used to getting his own way. He encourages Kat's inner strength, and she teaches him about love. Both carry scars, and both need someone to look beyond them. The story is compelling and I defy anyone not to be touched by it. Although, I abhor the "F" word, I still must give it five stars; the story is one you cannot shake off.I am compelled to read it over, not yet ready to say goodbye to Kat and Sloan.

Great Series

I wasn't sure when I started the first book in this series, it seemed a bit too full of cliches and predictable. Very happy to see I was wrong.

I grew to love both of the main characters and wanted to see them get their HEA.

The supporting characters were great and I loved their interaction which didn't detract from the story.

This was a very sexy read with a strong and dominant H who liked to control the situation, but was very patient and understanding of the heroines needs.

A great story that I have no problems recommending to my friends. I will definitely be reading more from this author.

Loved this series, especially that it was released as a box set, loved Sloan and Kat, their stories were both heartbreaking and heartwarming, Drake had me tearful throughout. This story keeps your interest with a nicely developing storyline, part hot romance, mystery drama, some beautiful moments which made me go aahh...,I would say that at the end I wanted to hear more about Ethan, he could definitely had his own story. Definite TBR.

Interesting so far....
Sloane "he looked like Death. Very sexy, very intriguing Death."
I started the series without reading the book blurb and I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed it, it's a heartbreaking ( and HOT) story of two emotionally and physically( Kat) damaged people and their road to self acceptance and love.
The secondary characters had their own troubled stories and some of them brought tears to my eyes.
Kat is a great heroine, she truly is a fighter :)

Loved Plus One Chronicles Boxed Set. I couldn't put the books down once I started reading. For me the books were better than Fifty Shades.
Sloane and Kat have great chemistry together. Both of their pasts were awful but the two of them together were able to heal each other.
Sloane a former MMA fighter and Kat a baker. They show that opposites do attract.
Great job Jennifer Lyon!

Okay, I think in order to do this review well I am going to have to break it down into parts. So here goes:

I hate to admit it, but I only read these books because I read Once A Marine and fell in love with Jennifer's writing style. When she offered me this series to read I just couldn't pass it up! Gosh am I glad that I got the chance...this series...just WOW! The characters are exciting, dynamic, deep, real, relatable, lovable, steamy, sexy...umm...so many other adjectives apply here!

The Plus One Chronicles is an emotional roller coaster that gets you panting, sweating, biting your lip and leaves you down on your knees breathless and begging for more!

The Proposition - Book 1: 123 pages
This book totally intrigued me. The cover art, the blurb, the plot line is all so unique and captivating that I just KNEW that I had to read it! I haven't read an erotica book in a while (This is no 50 Shades of Gray, it is definitely Erotica!) and was super excited to get my hands on this one...I mean come on, who doesn't love a little erotica in their book from time to time?

Let's get to know our characters a little, shall we?

Kat Thayne is a woman that is determined to reach a place in her life where she is independent, strong, and, most of all, safe! She is the ultimate survivor. I LOVE the fact that Kat refuses to do the typical romance novel chick thing and "swoon" for the sexy Mr. Sloane (Okay maybe she swoons a little...but who wouldn't?!? What I mean is that she doesn't just change everything about herself and jump into a situation with blinders on. She thinks things through and makes smart choices! Dang it, we need more books like this with STRONG SMART women characters! Not every chick that gets the hot rich guy needs to be ditzy!) Kat may be afraid of just about everything, but she manages to stand her ground and get past it.

Sloane Michaels, the dark and seemingly dangerous and sexy business man, is the owner of SLAM Gyms and an ex-UFC fighter that has some major commitment issues. In order to make sure no woman ever gets too close, Sloane has this crazy (and yet totally awesome) Plus One deal that he makes. When Sloane first showed up, I honestly wasn't sure if I was going to like him or if he was just going to be an ass. Over time, I figured out that it is a little of both!

There are a TON of background characters that I quickly fell in love with! I can honestly say that I would PLEAD, BEG, BORROW, STEAL AND STALK for a book about these background people! Seriously...I NEED to know what happens with Ethan! Come on, you can write another book right? I became so attached to the characters that I cried just as much because of them as I did for Sloane and Kat!

What about romance? I know one of the biggest complaints that come up about erotica books is that they are all wham-bam-thank-you-mam and not enough in the sweet and lovey in between. Even us deviant freaks like a little lovey dovey once in a while! Jennifer Lyon manages to find the perfect balance between spankings and sweet-nothings! I never once felt like something was missing from the romance or that the story line went in some random direction just to fit in a new sex scene. I also never thought that the story line was simply added in to get from one sex scene to the next, as I often thought with 50 Shades! Some erotica books seem like the author sat down and wrote out EVERY sex scene and then said "Hmm...how can I make it seem like this legitimately happened...". Not so with The Plus One Chronicles! All three books flow well, have a balance of mystery, action, romance and naughty!

Kat and Sloane have CHEMISTRY! The sex is explosive, emotional, and bonding; even if that's not what they had in mind when they set out on this Plus One journey. I swear, these two can't keep their hands off of one another, no matter where they are! Some of their public displays of affection definitely left me blushing and I wasn't even a part of it! This couple is absolutely the HOTTEST I have ever read! They are 100% MFEO (Made For Each Other) and the angst, yearning, and sexual tension left me breathless!

Possession - Book 2: 148 pages
It's 3 days later...and now that the initial Plus One agreement has been made and things are well on their way to uncharted territory, the story really gets interesting! It's supposed to be all about the pleasure, the sex, the passion....they aren't supposed to care about one another! Some how the lines have started to blur and the consequences are monumental!

Possession provides us with a TON of back-story and helps to fill in a lot of blanks. It really solidified my connection with the characters and my need for them to be happy and safe. We get a new character....Drake. Drake quickly became a HUGE part of the story and came to mean a lot to Kat as well. Seeing Kat with Drake causes Sloane a lot of issues. He isn't sure how to feel or what to do about it.

Sloane spends a great deal of time training Kat, trying to help her fight her inner demons as well as those that can physically harm her. Kat isn't alone in having things from her past to over come. Sloane's past is quickly coming to meet his present and he knows that it will most likely change, if not end, his relationship with Kat. Watching Kat's inner strength meet up with Sloane's outer strength and merging into one as a couple...just DAMN...I want more please!

The chemistry we got a taste of in The Proposition grows to immense proportions in Possession! I still can't get over how perfect these two are for one another. They compliment one another, they fill the darkness with light, they make them want to strive to be a better person. Now we just have to hope that neither Kat nor Sloane does something that they will regret!

The flow of the character development is totally realistic and believable. The suspense and sexual tension is mind blowing! I still can't get over the amazing secondary characters! Every single one adds something to the story and manages to enhance my feeling of being a part of the story.

I will warn you...this book ends with one HELL OF A CLIFF HANGER! I was definitely happy that I had the books as a boxed set because if I had had to wait to know what happened...I may have thrown my Kindle against a wall and yelled at people randomly in the street!

Obsession - Book 3: 171 pages
I'm not sure whether to be thrilled about reading the last book or sad that it's over! I have become so attached to these characters that I'm just not ready for it to end! It's hard to review this book without giving away a ton of spoilers for the series...but I'm going to try!

There is one good thing and one bad thing about a trilogy...YOU KNOW THAT IT'S OVER! For me, this is a toughie! For a series that I have come to love that is filled with characters that I am utterly attached to...I'm just not sure if anything can stand up to the expectations that I have developed. I know where I think the story should go...where I want it to go...and now I get to find out if it does.

Unlike the first two books, Obsession seems to focus more on Sloane and his insecurities and issues instead of Kat. Kat does an outstanding job of showing Sloane what love is. Even when things aren't going so wonderfully, she is still there, still providing him with support and still caring. Kat shows Sloane what true love and acceptance really mean, now the only question is if he can accept it or not.

While Kat's demons and past take a backseat to Sloane's, she does get the chance to face her biggest fears and get a bit of pay back. I was so damn proud of her for how she handled things, I can't imagine what must have been running through her head...let alone Sloane's!

Obsession has quite a few twists and turns. It had me crying out, gasping, crying a bit more (I'm sorry if you don't cry during this book then you have no heart or SOUL! LOL) and then laughing when I least expected to. The unexpected is just around the next page and no matter how much you think you know what will happen...think again! Jennifer Lyon pulls out some awesome surprises that left me dying for more!

We learn a little bit more about Drake and Ethan, which just makes me want Ethan's story even more! That boy/man deserves to be happy and dang it I want to be there when it happens! **HINT HINT HINT** Pretty please with a sexy as sin alpha male on top write Ethan's story?!?!?!?

This book answered all of my questions and then broke my dang heart! I still haven't gotten over how flawlessly this book completed the series. The amount of puzzle pieces that were tangled with others and still managed to fit perfectly...the mystery unraveling at an agonizingly slow and yet perfect pace...the romance that blooms and grows from an erotic Plus One to an amazing and undeniable love...EVERY LITTLE THING about this book was amazing! I cried tears of joy, sadness and acceptance. I laughed. I screamed. I pleaded for things to be different...but the story had to play out the way it was meant to.

Overall:

I was utterly captivated and entranced by this series! The main characters and secondary characters are all so special, so well developed, so REAL that I felt like I was a major player in the book. I felt as if I could help things develop...change the out come...maybe if I could just find the right doctor...but, we all know that isn't how it works! Jennifer's writing style submerges the reader into a world that seems so real and believable that at times we forget that it's not. Sometimes we find ourselves so deep in the story that we cry, we jump, we laugh out loud, we get frustrated, we get mad, we get excited...we may even get quite hot and bothered with a few scenes! I have never read a book that flowed so perfectly and kept me wanting more until the very last page as The Plus One Chronicles did. I never once felt like I was reading an erotic novel...I simply enjoyed it immensely and delved deeper to connect with the characters and enjoy their times together.

Simply put...if you haven't bought The Plus One Chronicles, I highly recommend that you do it now! Make sure you set aside the time to sit down and read it...focus on it...bond with the characters and become a part of the story! I guarantee that once you start you will not want to stop!

Yes. Yes I have read this series 3 times already

And will continue to read it when the mood strikes me. This trilogy is a good read no matter your mood. Need to connect with a character with a tough past, or finding yourself or maybe just have a total hottie dropped in your lap or want to watch characters overcome pain. Jennifer's books had me laughing, crying and ready to beat the carp out of some characters. All her characters are relatable so you can form a connection. The story is detailed and visually inspiring.

I really like the characters in this series. It was well written and enjoyable to read over a relaxing weekend. The first and second books were really good, but the third was just slightly disappointing. While the interaction between the main characters and their loved ones was beautiful (I may have shed a couple tears near the end), the connection between their pasts with Dr. David and his "colleagues" was a bit much. Overall, I would recommend this as a fun and easy read.

Please have your tissue ready. This book will make you cry your eyes. Would love a back story of Drake and a young Sloane. Such a good story of love and determination. Awesome, must read box set. I'm just starting Jennifer's books but she has me now and I'm an addict now.

Read all 3 books in one seating over 2 days.

Will probably not read again as a character (H’s mentor) died of cancer in the final book.

Didn’t expect the ending to be that way though.

It's a slow start. A lot of information to absorb. Can't wait until the proposal between Sloane and Kat begins. Sloane is a fighter who is going to teach Kat how to defend herself and help her feel safe when someone touches her. Sloane wants Kat and the only way he can convince her is by breaking down her walls of fear. Sloane is going to train Kat to defend herself. Kat is also going to find out the truth behind what David is hiding about the night they were attacked.
The connection between Kat and Sloane is still questionable. It does not flow. The encounters between them is written in graphic detail and they provide pleasure for one another, but it's typical male dominance. Once Kat becomes more confident and stronger I'm not sure how this relationship will play out.
That was short. I would not buy this book separately. I don't like to read books in installments. I bought the box set so I could read it in its entirety. This book should have been released originally in its full version not in sections.
I guess I'm the only one who looks for more than what this one is offering in a story.
What I like most about the story is watching Kat grow and become stronger. I love the support and strength Sloane provides that encourages her to release the fears of hiding her scars. If the author left out the erotic graphic shagging then it would be a quality story. I think the chemistry between them would be more passionate if it had been toned done to a level of intimacy.
Kat wants to train and defend herself against David without relying on Sloane. Kat and Sloane still Have an arrangement where he teaches her to defend herself and have a physical commitment with no strings attached.
There's honesty between them. He is protective and possessive over her. Yet she wants control over her own life except when she's with him she loses control. She falls under his spell.
The graphic descriptions of shagging is no different from any other erotic book I've read. Sloane is a dominate male who knows how to please a woman because he has been with so many and yet with Kat he finds himself breaking boundaries.
Sloane brings out the danger in Kat and makes her test her limits.
Sloane is confident sexually and demands Kat to test her limits by not shying away from fantasies and fetishes.
I get tired of these dominate males educating the females like we have no experiences of our own. Women get mad when they find out how many woman they have been with yet don't complain when he's pounding into her hard and fast.
Since Kat does not need Sloane for his money he is not used to a woman who wants to comfort him and take care of him.
Sloane wants revenge against the guy who raped and killed his sister. Kat is helping Sloane deal with his pain of losing his sister. For whatever reason he opens up to her and expresses his feelings. He is wanting more from Kat. This is something he never wanted before. She is bringing out a new side to him.
The story ends abruptly in the middle of an argument about Sloane wanting to seek revenge against the guy who killed his sister.
The symbolism ties together in this third installment. Kat and Sloane share similar past. Kat was beaten and had parents who ignored her pain. Sloane lost a sister to a man who fights and has a mother who blames him. Together they work to help each other bring peace for the pain they experienced through there past.
Typical pattern of outcome. Sloane lies to protect Kat. Kat finds out the truth and tries to stop him. Sloane does not fight to keep Kat claiming he was never good enough and that he knew he would ruin a good thing and allows Kat to walk away. Sloane thinks it's best for her safety if she was no longer around him until he finishes his job. He's turning away from Kat instead of moving on in life. He is letting his mother control him just like Kat did with her family in the beginning.
Sloane and Kat both deal with the fear of abandonment. Sloane fears he will turn out like his mother making wrong choices about love.
Kat is faced with some dangerous situations and is able to use the fighting skills she learned while training with Sloane.
Kat fights to prove her worth to her parents and gains her own self worth by facing David.
Sloane proves to choose love over his revenge and becomes the man both can be proud of.
This was by far the best story of the series. Even though these to me were not books but volumes or installments for one full story

Book #1
Are you ready to ready about one sexy billionaire businessman? Then meet Sloan Micheals. However Sloan isn’t the typical businessman he is a tall dark and handsome ex UFC fighter who has opened SLAM a chain of gyms and heads up a charity that takes at risk kids off the streets and gives them a way to let out their frustrations in teaching them professional fighting. He hasn’t always been the man he is now though. He had a tough childhood with a mother who jumped from man to man and didn’t pay attention to her children, Sloan and his twin sister. Then one horrible evening when they are teens his sister was brutally murdered. Now Sloan spends his time making money and training to get revenge on the man who murdered his sister. He doesn’t have time for relationships. He has “plus one” arrangement insead. A plus one arrangement is someone who will attend the different business events and such that he must make appearances at with some smokin’ hot sex on the side, but no expectations of a relationship.

Now lets meet Kat Thayne. Kat is an amazing strong woman who owns her own bakery. She suffered a horrible mugging and beating a few years ago and now suffers from anxiety and panic attacks. The one place she feels safe is at her bakery where she creates amazing creations She comes from a well to do family that owns their own pharmaceutical company where she used to work. After the attack she decided to leave and to the one thing that made her happy, bake. Now her family believes she is wasting her time and her education “playing” at her bakery when she could be much more successful at the family business.

They meet one night a wedding that Kat is delivering the cake at and Sloan is instantly captivated. He ends up rescuing Kat and her helper out back during a carjacking. Afterwards he can’t help but pursue her. He offers her the one thing she can’t refuse. In exchange for a plus one arrangement he will teach her to fight. Something she wants to help her feel more safe and secure.

This is one smoking hot book with some very entertaining characters. After reading this Sloan is one of my new book boyfriends !!

Book #2
The groundwork for this book was built in The Proposition book one of the series. This is in no way a stand alone book. In this book we get more of the smokin’ hot scenes and we get to watch as Kat’s & Sloan’s relationship builds. We can tell that they are way more to each other than a plus one arrangement. However they keep bringing up the fact that what they are to each other is only temporary and that just drove me nuts. I seriously wanted to reach in the book and know their heads together.

Kat continues to grow in her strenght and overcome her anxiety and panic problems. At the same time she starts to have flashbacks of her attack which raises tons of questions cause the stories she was told by her ex just don’t add up with what she is remembering.

Sloan is an extremely caring man and takes his responsibility of protecting Kat very seriously. But will his need for revenge make a relationship impossible?

Ms Lyon did an awesome job with this book and the secondary characters she introduces us to are just as entertaining as the main characters. I can’t wait to start the next and final book of the series.

Book #3
I absolutely loved this trilogy. I loved watching Kat & Sloan grow stronger as a couple and how they each helped the other overcome their fears and demons. We watched Kat grow stronger with each book and learn to overcome her obstacles and how to protect herself. We watched Sloan learn to put his past behind him and how to put the welfare of his friends and loved ones at the forefront. In this book we also get more of Drake, Sloan’s mentor & father figure. He is a great man who has made some mistakes in his life that he wants to set right before his death. All I can say is get the tissues ready because you are going to cry uly tears with this one. This was a perfect ending to the Plus One trilogy. Thanks for the wonderful ride Jennifer !!

Plus one chronicles
The Plus One Chronicles is a trilogy consisting of The Proposition, Possession and Obsession. Short version: I *loved* them.

Overall Rating: 5 stars- Screw sleep! I’ll let the kids watch TV and eat hot dogs tomorrow.

Now, Megan didn't love them as much as I did. She didn't like the heroine's weakness. I call that POPPYCOCK! Yes, Kat does start out meek and mousy, but the point of the trilogy is for her to find her strength - both inner and outer. I very much enjoyed her growth through the trilogy.
"Do you have a particular confection for the man suffering cruel rejection from a pretty baker?"

I'm going to press pause on our characters for a minute and come back to Sloane. (mmm... Sloane...) Let's talk about the plot and writing. Victim of a crime with PTSD, former MMA fighter made good. Doesn't sound ground-breaking, I know. But I loved the tale of redemption here. And the way that Jennifer Lyon weaves the passion with very flawed characters just gripped me intensely. I don't just mean the smut (which is delicious!) but just the passion between the characters. Yes, they start out not planning to love each other, but neither of them fight it and I found that refreshing as well.
"Too late. We both know this is more."

Okay, now onto Sloane. (If only I could be onSloane...) If I could build the perfect man, he would look and act like Sloan Michaels. Yes, he's rich and handsome - it's romance. But it's not that. I *LOVE* the way he treats Kat. He wants to protect her but not coddle her. He wants to build her up and watch her soar. I LOVE that. I love a great caveman moment where a great hero beats the crap of a bad guy, but if the heroine wants to do the ass-kicking herself? I want him to enjoy the show, give her a high five and then take her home for a celebratory romp. And that is why I love Sloane.
"FYI, champ, you're an asshole."

The Plus One Chronicles felt like the epitome of the ending of Pretty Woman to me. After he rescues her, what does she do? She rescues him right back. I LOVED IT.
"You're doing it again, aren't you?"
She faced him. "Comforting you? Being your friend? Yeah."
He twined his fingers with hers. "You keep doing shit like this and I might not be able to let you go. Ever."

Smut Factor: 5 stars- Had to wake my husband at 2am to quench my “need.”
Character likability:
5 stars- He’s my book boyfriend and I want to BE her.
Storytelling: 5 stars- I wake up thinking this really happened.
Writing and editing quality:
5 stars - Excellent!
