A Snowflake for Every Occasion

What a fun book! I can see snowflakes hanging above a reading circle at school. The snowflakes would match a book theme.

I’m definitely making the Pilgrim snowflake for Thanksgiving 2024. And several for the 4th of July in 2025.

A great book for an older child. However, some designs may require an adult supervision.

This is a great little book-- 2 pages of straightforward, concise instructions, and the rest of the 80 pages showcase imaginative designs for creating beautiful cut paper snowflakes. I particularly liked the emphasis on these designs as a platform for your own creativity: "Use this book as a tool to learn the techniques, and then start experimenting on your own." Great for proficient paper artists and kids alike; would be a great thing for older kids in Craft Lab / hands-on storytime projects.

this ones folding instructions were different than the other book, and not pictured well at all.

i ended up having to use something from the other book about how to locate exactly where to fold one of the edges. but it still wasnt the same folds. this book had really neat patterns including a reindeer head alternating with trees, but my scissors arent THAT sharp. maybe if i had an exacto knife.
