Desire

Rate this book
Life is all about choices and survival, even if it means selling your soul. After doing a rough 12 month bid, all urban beauty Desire could think about was her love of money. Determined to gain the riches of the world but vowing to never see the inside of a jail cell again, she follows all the rules of her probation, plans to start her own business and even finds herself in church every Sunday.
When her business plan is rejected, the pressure becomes too much to handle and she converts back to what she knows best—the use of sex, seduction and lies to reel in rich men. With the grips of the world and men at her feet she’s the happiest woman alive. That's until she realizes this happiness is only temporary and it’s not without a price.
Desire is now back to a part of her life she’d hoped to never relive…a born seductress and manipulator. She puts on her best La Perla lingerie and seeks out her next and final victim—multimillion dollar rap mogul, Vada. Although Desire doesn't know if this bout of final deception will land her in unwarranted territory, seeing the possibility of securing a guaranteed lifetime of wealth leaves her willing to risk it all.

Since the release of her 2004 debut novel A Gangster’s Girl, Essence Magazine best selling author Chunichi Knott has gone on to pen three additional best selling novels, Married To The Game, The Naked Truth and Return of A Gangster’s Girl.
With more than a half of a million books in print and on the heels of her fifth novel, California Connection, Chunichi’s talent as a writer, combined with her consistent and successful track record speaks for itself.
In addition to her hard work and relentless drive, Chunichi’s rise to the top of the literary world can easily be attributed to the fact that she has lived through the same fast lifestyle of sex, money, drugs, cars, and designer clothes, that she writes about in her books.
The former quiet southern girl from Alabama had her life transformed when she moved to Virginia Beach in her late teens. Dubbed the Urban Diva of literature because of her striking beauty, Chunichi’s stunning looks and Scorpio sex appeal was evident since her teenage years. And she instantly became a magnet for attracting ballers who elevated her social status while introducing her to an intoxicating high-end lifestyle.
That lifestyle transformed the sexy seductress into a gun toting Bonnie who was trained to fire. Chunichi’s fast paced lifestyle soon began to mimic that of a vixen and it included stints as a highly sought after local celebrity as well as her being the spoiled female darling of several NBA and NFL athletes.
Consequently as Chunichi matured, she decided to make a change in the way she was living. Never forgetting her past but making sure to leave the fast life behind, Chunichi went on to pursue and attain her degree in Nursing, while simultaneously putting her real life experiences on paper.
Now a reserved, mysterious beauty, the Urban Diva moves like anthrax, killing the literary scene with books that are sure to keep her on top of the major best seller’s list for years to come.

This was my first read by Chunichi and I must say that it was a great read. Minus a few grammatical errors, the story caught my attention from the first page. The characters were something else. Straight up debauchery, ratchetness, messiness, and a juicy plot. The main character sold her soul and dignity for money and attention. In the end it wasn't worth it because she lost everything. Also, just because a person seems happy in a marriage/and or relationship doesn't mean that they are not happy. Materialistic things don't make a person happy either. All of these women in this story were naïve to an extent. I look forward to reading more by Chunichi.

Are you serious!! Omg. Why did this book have to end like this? Ugh. I'm so mad. My heart hurt for what happened to Victoria in the beginning and also for what happened with Veda and Isis. You should never go to bed angry, tomorrow's never promised. It ade me tear up when they said he was dead & I think the guy Isis was messing with did it. That's so sad. Also I was glad Desire turned ger life around and was gonna marry Bam. I feel her 'friends' were not her friends at all because they ruined her wedding. Now I have to wait for the next part of this book to see what exactly happens with Bam Desire & everyone else.

Action, suspense, drama, betrayal...page after page after page! Desire's life is definitely filled with all the above! Chunichi did a great job weaving love and loyalty, or lack thereof, in and out of these characters' lives. Surprises unfold and lives are ruined. Great job Chunichi...another 5STAR read added to the G Street Chronicles library!

Talk about six degrees of separation.Desire is fresh out of jail looking for a way to come up,it doesn't take long for her to revert to her old ways by using men.Isis is trying her best to adjust to motherhood and being a wife to a rap star.Angel is married to a preacher with skeletons in his closet. Will these women be able to overcome their adversities?or Will the damage be too significant?

This book was a good read it contained a lot of drama and an original story-line.Would definitely recommend this book for the twist and turns.
