Raoul Cauvinin käsikirjoittama ja Laudecin piirtämä Cédric eli Janne ei taida olla näillä leveysasteilla erityisen tunnettu sarjakuvahahmo. Lieneeköhän tämän kahdeksanvuotiaan belgialaisen koulupojan seikkailuja julkaistu meillä muualla kuin Parhaat sarjat -kirjakerhossa? No, suurta vahinkoa ei ole päässyt syntymään ainakaan "Kiinalainen juttu" -albumin perusteella. Lapsille suunnattua, harmitonta ja mitäänsanomatonta huumorisarjakuvaa, ei sen enempää tai vähempää.

My favorite of the first six- I was so excited to witness his meeting of Chen and it didn't disappoint in the slightest. The other antics are superior too because, to my memory, they're longer than in the rest of the series and the themes were totally fresh back then.

De eerste Cedric met Chen! We zien hoe Chen voor het eerst in de klas komt, en hoe Cedric haar Nederlands leert (wat gepaard gaat met het hele r > l gedoe). Ik vond het wel enigszins jammer dat hoe Cedric verliefd wordt op Chen niet echt te zien was, dat vond ik veel duidelijker in deel 5. Hier is het opeens BAM verliefd en wil hij met haar trouwen.
Ik moet wel zeggen dat ik Chen nog steeds een leuk karakter vindt en het ook geweldig vind dat ze duidelijk laat weten als ze het niet eens is met iets/niet blij is met iets.
Natuurlijk zijn er ook strips over Cedrics familie, zijn slechte rapporten, school, vriendschap en meer. Ik vond de minst leuke de truuk die hij uithaalde met zijn ouders.
De tekeningen zijn nog steeds de oude stijl (want een van de eerste boekjes).

Artwork is subpar, stories are multipage gag stories, nothing really laugh out loud worthy; like a poor man’s Dennis the Menace.

I really love Cedric, even now my age is double his :)

His small adventures, and his secret affection for Chen, a cute Chinese girl are very lovely and dear to my heart. Like other French masterpieces about little boys such as Nicholas or Spirou, it makes me miss my own childhood. I also like that the stories always end with the sentence: " It's not easy when you are just an 8 - year - old boy."

I also like his close-knit between Cedric and his Granpa. In a story, Grandpa devoted himself to making a roller- board for Cedric. I was quite jealous with their affection for each other.

I read the english version.

Cedric reminds everyone with a funny side of his childhood. His relations with the other gender, parents and school. It is funny that find the pages slides between your fingers without giving concern to time
