Give offers up 16 different strategies to grow your business through the concept of "Givers Gain" - by putting other people first you will prosper yourself.
I found the book an easy read, with well laid out chapters that offer practical advice and guidance for business owners on how to set giving goals, give gratitude, give online, give education and how to give to your employees.
A number of the chapters are written by guest contributors, and so the style of the book sometimes jumps around a little.
The book is heavily influenced by the networking group BNI and so focuses on the mantra of "Givers Gain" - e.g. karma, what goes around comes around, etc. For some who love BNI this will be a good fit - yet I'm aware there are many who are equally turned off by the BNI ideals.
Personally, I prefer the slightly different idea of being a "Go Giver" - as exemplified in author Bob Burg's and John David Mann's eponymous book where you give without expecting. I don't believe in keeping score, Karma or "what goes around comes around", but I do believe it's human nature to want to reciprocate and have experienced this in my own life.
However you view it, putting others first is a concept that may be alien to "Go Getters" and yet I know it works. This book gives practical advice on how that might look for you and I especially like the fact that author Sam Rathling is donating 50% of all proceeds from the sale of this book to the "Building Blocks" project. A worth cause.
