اینکه والتر بنیامین فرشته‌اش را روزی بدهد به دست ژرژ باتای ِ آتئیست هم عجیب است و هم بهترین جزءِ این کتاب

پاول کله می‌گوید که تصاویرش را نه از روی تخیل بلکه با"
نظاره به عالم والا خلق می‌کند. بنابراین فرستگان او نیز واقعیت
زیست شده در عالم معنوی او هستند که کله نه به شیوه‌ای
طبیعت گرایانه بلکه با بیان هنرمندانه‌ ای که مخصوص خودش است
آن‌ها را روی کاغذ و بوم اورده."

بعضی از خوانش‌های نویسنده از فرشتگان نکات خوبی داشت
ولی بعضی هم به نظرم قانع کننده نبود. متاسفانه تصاویر کتاب
سیاه و سفید است و در نتیجه خواننده نمی‌تواند از نقاشی و
متن لذت کاملی ببرد.

حیف چنین نقاشی هایی که سیاه و سفید چاپ شده اند،بعد از ورق زدن ۷ صفحه کامل کتاب از هم باز شد و به طور کلی از کیفیت نشر چشمه نسبت به قیمتش اصلا راضی نبودم. تحلیل های فرشته های کله خیلی ابتدایی و ساده بودند، نمیدانم، توقعم شاید این بود که بیشتر با فضای ذهنی کله آشنا شوم و علت اینکه اینقدر به کشیدن فرشته ها علاقه دارد، اما نویسنده یک معمار بوده و این را کاملا از متن میتوان فهمید. از آنجایی که فرشته نووس برایم اعجاب انگیز است و تاثیرش بر والتر بنیامین یکی از اثرگذارترین اتفاق های فلسفه است، کتاب به قدر کافی به نظرم به ستایش این اثر و این اتفاق نپرداخته‌.خلاصه که تو ذوقم خورد. همچنین اسم لاتین نقاشی ها در هیچ پانویسی نیامده و پیدا کردن اصل نقاشی هارو سخت تر میکرد.

Cute little book i got from the Museum Ludwig, it had my favorite angel* right at the front of the book so i decided to get it. I love Paul Klee's art, he's probably my favorite artist, and his angel drawings have always enamored me. It was cool, then, to read a short biography of his life through the motif of angels. I didn't always agree with some of the book's analysis of the angel drawings/paintings, they were a bit corny at some points, but mostly they did help me to see the angels in a new way and connect them to Klee's spiritual and philosophical thoughts. It's a short book so we didn't go real deep but i can take it from here. The angels, the angels!

کتاب فرشتگان پاوْل کِلِه به تحلیل چهل تصویر از مجموع صد تصویری می‌پردازد که این نقاش سویسی ـ آلمانی، در خلال زندگی شصت و یک‌ساله‌اش تحت عنوان فرشتگان کشیده است: از تصویر مسیح کودک، یادگار پنج‌سالگی‌اش، گرفته تا مشهورترین نقاشی‌اش فرشته‌ی نو، همراه و همدم والتر بنیامین در سال‌های تبعید و در نهایت آخرین اثرش، فرشته‌ی مردّد، که بازنمایی واپسین تردیدهای هنرمند به زندگی، باورهای دینی و جهان پس از مرگ بود. بیش‌ترِ تصاویر «فرشتگان» پاوْل کِلِه که جزء محبوب‌ترین آثار وی به شمار می‌روند، متعلق به دو سال پایانی زندگی (۱۹۴۰ ـ ۱۹۳۸) اوست که مصادف بود با دوران مخوف ناسیونال ـ سوسیالیسم در آلمان، و ضعف‌های جسمانی و بیماری علاج‌ناپذیر پاوْل کِلِه. از این‌رو، تصاویرِ فرشتگانِ دو سال پایانِ زندگی او روی‌گرفتِ دقیقی از وضعیت درونی این هنرمند است: گاهی عاری از امید، گاهی مملو از اعتمادبه‌نفس، گاهی شاد و گاهی به‌شدت غمگین. اما درعین‌حال، برای پاوْل کِلِه، فرشتگان در قالب موجوداتی نیمه‌انسانی ـ نیمه‌الوهی، در حکم واسطی میان عالم زمینی و عالم فرازمینی‌اند که به نوعی نیازِ هنرمند به معنویت، رهایی تدریجی او از زندگی روزمره و رسیدن به آرامش درونی را برآورده می‌سازند. حتی شاید بتوان یک گام جلوتر رفت و ادعا کرد که در آثار پاوْل کِلِه فرشته به تصویری از خود هنرمند مبدل می‌شود که در نقش واسطی برای انتقال حقایق متافیزیکی به دیگر انسان‌های بی‌باور به خدا وارد عمل شده است. برخلاف تصور رایج ما از فرشته، فرشتگان پاوْل کِلِه به‌ندرت زیبارو و لطیف‌اند، آن‌ها بیش‌تر زشت، خشن و بعضاً شیطانی‌اند که احتمالاً ریشه در این باور پاوْل کِلِه دارند که امر الوهی و شیطانی دو روی یک سکه هستند، نه نافی هم، که مکمل یکدیگرند.

If you are already familiar with Klee, you'll be delighted to meet his particular tribe of angels; if you're not, this is your book, for it tells his life story and depicts his most innocent, peculiar and intriguing pictures. A book with the essentials of Klee, his most well-known cites and the high quality depictions of the Angels.

This book is a gateway drug to Paul Klee. I'd had only sporadic interest in his works- lovedloved some and blah to the rest - but reading the esoteric and mystical explanations behind his work something clicked and now I'm going hard on the Paul Klee.

It's a cute volume and well written. I'm just annoyed that they couldn't get the entire set of seventy angels in there. Also, the godforsaken Arcadia Books pricetag on the back doesn't go and I want to remove it every time i see it but it's part.of.the.book. Stop it, Arcadia!

Aber auch den Text lesen, hörst du? Nicht nur die Bilder anschauen!
Ja, Mama.
- Dabei weiß doch jeder, dass Geschenkbücher nicht zum Lesen gemacht werden, sondern um sich für sie zu bedanken. Aber bei "Die Engel von Paul Klee" bin ich froh, mich auch aufs Lesen eingelassen zu haben. Boris Friedewald interpretiert in dem Stil: Bei diesem Engel handelt es sich nicht nur um einen Engel, sondern um den Künstler Klee selbst, und gleichzeitig stellt er auch den Menschen an sich dar. Wenn man gerade der Ironie müde ist, entfaltet diese simple Ernsthaftigkeit einen einlullenden Charme. Dass hier kein literarisches Meisterwerk funkelt, ist klar. Auch Kunstgeschichte wird hier nicht geschrieben. Die vier Sterne beziehen sich allein auf das Format des Geschenkbuches, das in diesem Fall schafft, was es zu schaffen hat: Ich habe sofort meinen Lieblingsengel gekrönt und mich kurz in einem liebevollen Universum aufgehoben gefühlt.
