All Quantum Shaman™ workshops are designed for the individual practitioner - giving you the freedom to work at your own pace in your own space. No group participation is required. You need not do any of the other workshops in the Quantum Shaman Workshop series - each stands on its own. These workshops are designed to challenge you at the deepest level of your existing belief systems - bringing you in contact with your higher self. Every workshop will have an indicator as to beginning, intermediate or advanced, though beginners may benefit from advanced workshops and vice versa. There is always more to learn, no matter where we are on our path. ________________ "What is Quantum Shamanism? Simply this... through an understanding of quantum energy, we empower ourselves to awaken our shamanic abilities." - Orlando, 2006 ________________ STOPPING THE INTERNAL DIALOG A powerhouse workshop for anyone who is tired of listening to all those grocery lists and snide remarks and whining commentary that runs along in the back of the mind like a broken record. Stopping the internal dialog isn't difficult once we learn how to do it - and that's what this workshop is all about. "Why do I need to stop the internal dialog?" Because for as long as it is not silenced, at least in temporary reprieves, it is impossible to hear the voice of the higher self, the call of the spirit, the higher truths that are with us at all times. Learning to stop the internal dialogu also enables the seeker to get one step closer to permanent gnosis - the place of silent Knowing, where the entire library of Infinite Knowledge is at our disposal. ________________ WORKSHOP PREVIEW A sneak peek at just one of many exercises that begin with recognizing the internal dialogue and proceed through the process of learning to silence it at will. Set aside fifteen minutes for this first exercise, and just sit down with yourself in a place of minimal distractions. You aren’t attempting to actively do anything here, except listen. Bring a pad of paper & pen with you to the exercise. As you sit in silence – perhaps looking out a window or just relaxing at your breakfast table in the morning – begin to have an awareness of what your internal dialogu is doing. What is it talking about? Is it only making lists of what you are observing (“hot coffee”, “tree bending in wind”, “spot on tablecloth”), or is it more concerned with what you have to do today? What you’re looking for here is a clue to where your personal fears and concerns actually reside with regard to the inventories being kept by the internal dialogue. Does your ID calculate bills or worry about being late to work? Or is it primarily making observations about your current state of affairs? In the long run, having a better idea of what your internal dialogue is doing will give you a better awareness for when the time comes to actually begin stopping it. Without judgment or frustration, simply observe the machinations of the ID for the first 10 minutes. By that time, you will usually discover that there are patterns to the internal dialogue. Because it is a beast of habit, it will often repeat the same things over and over. As you begin to observe oft-repeated observations or phrases, jot them down on your paper, but for the time being, don’t focus on them. Remember – the purpose of this exercise is just to learn how to observe... "How can you hear the voice of your higher self if you are always talking to yourself?" (Orlando) ________________
Della Van Hise is a native of Florida, transplanted to California at the age of 21, who has subsequently sunk her roots into the high desert near Joshua Tree National Park. She has not personally seen any aliens since around 1992, but there is rumored to be a secret UFO base underneath her house.
Della's writing started around age 11, when she would bang out some of the very earliest "fan fiction" on an old Smith Corona typewriter. No, not an electric one. A real antique, made of metal and heavier than a wet coffin. Her first professional novel was best-selling KILLING TIME - the controversial Star Trek novel which was recalled and re-edited in 1984. None of the rumors were true, of course. It was just a Star Trek book - but apparently a good enough work that the first "reboot" movie borrowed heavily from the plot and structure.
More recently, Della has written extensively in the non-fiction genre, with titles such as QUANTUM SHAMAN: DIARY OF A NAGUAL WOMAN and SCRAWLS ON THE WALLS OF THE SOUL. "Quantum Shaman" focuses heavily on the author's metaphysical explorations and experiences, while "Scrawls" is a continuation of those journeys many years later. If you enjoyed the works of Carlos Castaneda or Don Miguel Ruiz, you'll enjoy the non-fiction works of Della Van Hise.
In addition, Della has written professionally for Tomorrow Magazine and other prominent science fiction publications. Her most recent fiction works include Ragged Angels (an award-winning vampire novel); Year of the Ram (a space-faring gay romance); and COYOTE - a romantic science fiction novel combining the mystical aspects of martial arts, coming of age, and personal sacrifice.
Della's favorite mantras include: The destruction of faith is the beginning of evolution. You have to BE immortal before you can know how to BECOME immortal. The core of your beliefs determines the realities you *see* and obliterates those you choose to ignore.
This book is great in that it gives you multiple techniques to shut off your internal dialogue and gain peace from what Buddhists call the "monkey mind". That incessant voice in your head criticizing, critiquing, judging, & condemning certain things (ie. different aspects of your life, what you do, your self image).
You can find alot of peace from reading and applying these techniques.
Along with that, Della gives fantastic advice in regards to connecting with the Higher Self or The Great Spirit or Higher Conciousness (whatever you want to call it). The knowledge you gain from connecting to the All That Is will most likely not be what you expect. It's not going to help you find out personal details of others or information concerning future events (in most cases) but it will give you wisdom and understanding regarding your own life and how you can overcome any obstacles/challenges you may be facing. It's not there to please your ego but rather to help you grow and learn in life so you can live a much more fulfilling life. So if you're thinking about reading this book, I'd say it's totally worth it.
Personally, I did try the techniques and they worked. The theoretical knowledge also helped me get connected to silent knowledge and know what I had to do to connect with that stream of wisdom of the Spirit. And after many months of applying various techniques from various books, I have now found that the silent knowledge or "wisdom" (which I prefer) now appears spontaneously throughout the day without needing to attempt to connect to "the spot". Nevertheless, I believe it may be necessary for many beginners to attempt the techniques written within to get "connected" and learn how to do it...over time...your mind will naturally shift to that state of awareness when you need to hear something from the silent wisdom to guide you in life. No need to worry about hearing anything that you don't want to hear. You won't hear anything "bad" per se (for the most part)...for example you might be walking in a certain direction and feel off, then hear a voice which is the silent knowledge speaking to you saying "Don't go that way". I remember a few weeks ago, I went to a website concerning islamic mysticism. There was something off about it. Not Islam itself or Mysticism. That was fine but some of the things on the website had terminology that I had never heard. Rituals that were to be performed to spike your intuition and such. I kept looking around when I came across a page and I heard "Don't look at that". I ignored the voice of silent knowledge in favor to find out more information. I didn't think that a website could do any harm to me right? Boy, was I wrong. And that is just one example of many. The voice of silent knowledge is there to guide you. In my belief according to my experience, I would say it is the manifestation of the voice of your intuition or feelings. This wisdom is stored within your feelings....And when you ask yourself "What is my feeling telling me?" with a silent mind, you start to hear words and understand the message behind certain feelings.
Don't be afraid of anything, most of the stuff I've ever encountered has been great. It has shown me how to love more, how to do things from the heart rather than ego, why I should do certain things over others, how to improve my relationship with others (even guiding me to buy a ring for my mother on her birthday. I didn't know it was her birthday, I completely forgot but this voice guided me to just go...go somewhere...and when I got there, it told me that I had forgotten about my mother's birthday, and it guided me there to buy her a beautiful ring with a deep spiritual meaning that meant alot to her). Trust me, you'll love this book for what it is able to offer you in terms of connecting you to the Source of All That Is...your higher self...wisdom...
Ps. The Book does contain extra material, I'm not sure - they might be material from her other books. I didn't get the time to read much of them due to some issues I was dealing at the time, and a bit of confusion also regarding it (didn't know why it was there). All the better for her to place extra material there for all of her readers - it wasn't personally for me but many of you may enjoy it
Thank you for writing this book for everyone Della, Good job! And apologies, I didn't write this earlier. I've just been dealing with so much this past year and just getting the chance to write reviews for all the books I've read along yours. I love reciprocation and am happy to support your work! You're awesome! Blessings and Much Love.
