When I say "read" I mean more like flipped thru and read the parts I wanted to learn more about and skipped past the stuff I already knew. I did not find info I was looking for.

Basic start-up info w/some interesting sites listed (but this type of book can get dated very quickly). Organized by record type with additions for specialized research (jewish, african-american, dna). However, it was all academic - this book was written for American researchers (which I am not).

Lots of very useful information for the beginning genealogist. The ebook is best because it has all the links in it.
