I gave this book 3 stars, not because of the content or story, but because the main story is a vignette. The remainder of the book, which was 77 pages, were brief descriptions of his other works. If you want a quick read and a highlight of Steven Manchester's work, this is the perfect work.

A Christmas Wish: The holiday prequel to Goodnight, Brian
Love the author's other works that I've read and reviewed and know this one will be among the set. Down to earth family living with no drama.
Each of the children were taught at an early age to make a wish for Christmas and how to make it happen for them.
Steph is now in college and thinks she may be in love...she tells her grandmother of the chance meeting..
Brian has overcome some of the damage done and continues to live because of the attention his grandmother gives him and she won't take the doctors word.
She is determined Brian will overcome his disease. Mama takes Brian to her old neighborhood in the Italian section of Boston and they reminisce of how life was so hard when she was growing up, while they walk through the snow.
Love how she gets 2 turkeys and leaves one for a patron of the church that will need it most. Love the paying it forward. Detailed descriptions of sounds and smells and sights that make you feel as if you are there with them.
Book also comes with an excerpt from Goodnight, Brian.

A Christmas Wish is a very sweet short story. It's actually a prequel to the authors next story called Goodnight, Brian. This was the first story I read by this author and I plan on reading more of his books.

This story is set right before Christmas and we meet Mama, the grandmother. I absolutely loved Mama, she is a wonderful grandmother who loves her grandchildren unconditionally.

The author has such descriptive writing that I could imagine I was walking down the street with Mama and Brian when the snow started falling. And could picture the restaurant where Steph and Lauren were enjoying their date and dinner.

If you are looking for a heart warming story to read at this time of year, A Christmas Wish is perfect!

Wanting to read a couple of Christmas stories this week, who better to read than one of my favorite authors, Steven Manchester. This is the Prequel to GOODNIGHT, BRIAN which I read in 2013.

Mr. Manchester, in 91 pages, warms the reader's heart with the wise wisdom of MaMa, Angela DiMartino, the Italian matriarch. Mama is sensing that something is bothering her granddaughter during this holiday season. And with her infinite experience, knowledge, and unconditional love teaches Stephanie the greatest gift of all.

Steve Manchester delivers another emotional read that will leave the reader thankful for Mama and her insight. I felt like I was going home, to have the chance, to see my own grandmother again.

Beautifully written!

This is a story of a grandmother who had faith. Faith in her granddaughter and that she would find her way. Enjoying her grandson who had grown into a teen and sharing stories of the old neighorhood.
