Discovered this author and book through a link on Spirit Daily and it dove-tailed completely with my own spiritual journey. Read it in on kindle in one very quick read last night. It is based on extensive Scripture scholarship and old-fashioned common sense. Fascinating! One of my favorite quotes was:
While I did not agree quite so wholeheartedly with all Mr. Prince's conclusions—or perhaps I should say I wasn't sure where he was leading—I believe his writing is inspired and inspiring.
“I heard a young man once say, “I started a church.” I shuddered. I wanted to say to him, “You started a church? You little nincompoop! You whippersnapper! You think that you can start a church?” Nobody starts churches but Jesus and the Holy Spirit. We can organize. We can plan. We can promote. We can build. But churches are the prerogative of the Lord. He is “head over all things to the church, which is His body” (Ephesians 1: 22– 23).”Amen to that!

I'm so glad I found this author and this book. I was looking for a treatment of pulling down strongholds (a concept from 2 Cor. 10:4). When I bought this volume, I did not know who Derek Prince was. Turns out, he was a highly educated man who started learning Greek when he was ten, and ended up being a university professor (teaching Greek) in the UK. His foundation in academics (in OT history too) really shows through, and it is combined with a strong leading by the Holy Spirit to produce a treatment of spiritual warfare and prayer that took me in unexpected directions.

Thought provoking…
… on several levels.
Very insightful observations that can break chains and loose God’s people on personal, National and key spiritual levels.
Not a long book, but deep. Two key points are focused: pulling down stronghold and tearing down high places.
The author approaches these two key things from important and unexpected perspectives. Well worth my time and attention!

"Does what is says on the tin"
Clear, but deeply challenging, we save mired in secondary psychological and emotional constructs that do and will need due attention, but miss the overarching spiritual I influences that limit us. This is great for re-establishing that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but are mighty through God !

A call to, The Book, to the scriptures for instruction (not denominations) and the removal of the “high places” in our lives. Those places that are left over strong holds that we have not purged or are unwilling to eliminate in our spiritual lives.

Pulling down strongholds
Derek shows in this book how strongholds have been established and how to pull those strongholds down most of all it is very comprehensive and revealing and I recommend it to all who want to fight against evil forces.

I thought it was good but I thought once I bought it it was mine to keep, why can't I read it again?

When I read this book, I started really learning about the demonic side of Satan's kingdom, and spiritual warfare. Identifying demons and the hold they try to have on people, and how to be set free through healing and deliverance with the word of God.

This was a very short and succinct book about pulling down strongholds. I just discovered Derek Prince and this is my second book by him. I highly recommend this book.

This short book by the renown spiritual deliverance minister and teacher, Derek Prince. Mr. Prince focuses on people's areas of weakness or drain of power and labels them as strongholds of the devil. He points to the reality that all evil comes from demonic activity. The author lays out the battle for one's soul that is waged by heaven and hell. He also lays out the weapons of spiritual warfare and the high places of idolization that many people fall into. This instructional and guidance book is 'dead-on' and for those who seek freedom from curses, bad luck, misfortune, et al.Derek Prince outlines the purpose of the book which is to help one ascertain one's position in Jesus, to build up the presence and influence of the Holy Spirit so that one can live in the love and power of the Lord. Those reading this will bring down the false' high places' and destroy the strongholds of the the devil and his minions.

This was not a well thought out book. There was no overarching theme despite the title leading one to believe that there was. There was little useful information about pulling down strongholds in one's personal life or one's family, community or nation. What there was plenty of, however, was the author's made up doctrines/theology. I will not be buying anymore of this author's books because I believe him to be greatly overrated.

This is a short Christian book, very easy to read, on the topic of spiritual warfare. I read it as an introduction to his longer book about demons. I'm studying this because I've known people who seemed to be controlled by demons, and I'd like to know how to help them, as well as how to protect myself and my loved ones.
