Mansfield Brothers #2

Protecting Her Royal Baby

Rate this book
A woman in labor. A man on a mission. The Mansfield Brothers series continues…

All Brianna Coleman remembers of the near-fatal accident is the hero who saved her. Not her name or the father of the baby she delivers hours later. Until news of a coup in a foreign nation triggers a memory. Her baby's father is the missing member of a royal family…and her son the next target.

After saving them, Hunter Mansfield won't abandon them. But can he defend them against international assassins who pursue the newborn? He'll do anything—pay the ultimate price if necessary—for one chance to protect the woman he loves and her little prince.

I loved this book. I will be adding it to my list of favorites, that will be read again someday.

The book starts out with Brianna running for her life. She jumps in her car, and races away with people shooting at her. Hunter Mansfield is out for a run. He looks up to see a car driving erratic, and wonders if he should jump right or left, to avoid being hit by the car. Brianna see's Hunter and swerves to miss him, but it was too late. Her car fishtails, and flips into the ditch.

The events of the day caused Brianna to go into labor. Hunter is by her side, helping her through the contractions as they wait for the ambulance. Brianna also has a nasty bump on her head. She can't remember anything. She has this feeling that she is in danger, but can't remember why. Hunter made her a promise not to leave her. The only way he can keep that promise is to say he is her husband, and the father of the baby. There were a few awkward moments at the hospital, that made this book entertaining, but Hunter kept his promise to her.

Hunter saw the bullet holes on her back bumper, so he knows Brianna is in danger. He vowed to protect her, and her son even after they left the hospital. The danger continued. The suspense to this story was really good. With Brianna's memory loss, I was left wondering how everything would play out. I loved the strong friendship that started the day Brianna almost crashed her car into Hunter. I loved how Hunter cared for Brianna and her son. I love books with danger, action, suspense, and romance. This book had it all. It even had a sassy cat, that I feel in love with.

This is second book in the Mansfield Brothers series. But this is the only one I have read so far and to me it stands alone.

It starts right off to the action, danger of the story. Brianna is on the run in her car and she almost runs over Hunter Mansfield. She crashes and when Hunter runs to the car she lets him know that she is in danger. She is also in labor, head is bleeding. Hunter also finds gunshot holes in the back of her car.

Brianna is scared, with no memory she clings to Hunter not to leave her. Hunter tells everyone he is the father and talks his way to stay with her. He also signs paperwork naming him as her husband and father of the baby.

Hunter is the youngest of three brothers. He does not plan to get married. He is a hero in every sense of the way. When he promised Brianna that he would not leave her alone to figure out things. He would keep her and her baby safe he meant it.

This book is full of drama, action, danger, mystery as they try and figure out Brianna's history and keep her safe at the same time. Their is even a prince and a traitor. This is a clean read that I enjoyed reading.

I really liked Hunter that he was willing to drop everything to protect someone he just met.
Brianna when we learned of her history has come out to be someone strong. She accepted help when she needed it. She was also strong and tried to figure out how best to take care of her son. She even did her part to save Hunter and the Prince.

I would like to read the other two books in the Mansfield brothers series.

I was given this ebook to read and asked in return to give honest review of it by Netgalley a& Harlequin.

Story line is totally unrealistic but a good "getaway from reality romance". Alot of grammatical errors, like the editor didn't really read it but, whatever, I got the gist. But I swear if she used the word "niggle" one more time, I was going to lose my mind. I blame the editor for not owning a thesaurus. Still think book # 3 is my favorite. Beth's books are good but could have been better without all the repeat story interjections. I think this is for less sophisticated readers but still good to pass the time.

This book was so sweet. Gave me so many feels.
Finally a book where the couple have more to a relationship rather than just a physical one.

In love with two men but who has her whole heart. Will she be able to choose the right man to spend the rest of her life with? He walked out on her but the other one has been with her protecting her making her feel safe.

I could not believe everything that was happening to this poor pregnant woman. It seemed that a black cloud was following her around and it would not leave her. If it wasn’t for this man for taking his run who knows what could have happened to her. I know that my emotions were all over the place with this story not only was I frightened for her, I also felt sorry but most of all I hated how confused she seemed. I knew that it was going to be a hard read for me when her emotions were heated for him but then she didn’t know what she felt for her baby’s father. The what if’s were really killing me, I wanted for her to go with the flow and tell Hunter that she had feeling for him it was there in her eyes, the heat was there.

Brianna Coleman and Hunter Mansfield met in the worst circumstance possible, she was running away from danger and he was trying to escape the vehicle that was coming at him. In the middle of her driving away from danger her water broke and her labor pains were coming strong. I could not believe that she was somewhat able to concentrate on driving but soon she found herself in a bad position. Hunter wanted to help her and it seemed that Brianna didn’t want for him to leave the only thing she knew was that she felt safe with him.

Brianna has lost her memory and she is now trying to figure out why she senses danger and of course protecting her baby boy. Who knows for how long her memory will be gone but Hunter doesn’t want to leave her alone after what he found on her car. He was going to accompany her to her home and stay with her until her family came or the baby’s father came to get her and their child. Only that when they go to her home they find it ransacked, who could have done it.

Little by little her memory is coming back but it seems that danger is still lurking to the point that they have to leave her home because something awful happens. Now they are with his brother but for how long. Brianna finds out who the father is of her baby but could she have been in love with him, why did he walk away. Does she love him or could something happen between her and Hunter? Hunter knows that he should not be looking at her like he wants to gobble her up but he can’t help it. He is attracted to her and he wants to protect her and her son. I love how Brianna named him after Hunter that was a lovely thing that she did.

Brianna knows that she can’t continue staying where she is at maybe if she goes to Cape Cod maybe something will jolt her memory. Hunter is not very happy but he is going to go with her. Brianna should have never gone there because something bad always happens the moment that you leave your safe haven. Remember Prince Cristoff is still out there, is he behind the incidents that have been happening to Brianna? Could there be someone else behind it? Can Hunter walk away from Brianna in order for her to be happy with the Prince and her baby? Will Brianna be able to walk away from a family she could have with Prince Cristoff or will she choose Hunter?

Protecting Her Royal Baby was a wonderful read that I enjoyed immensely. I know that the journey isn’t smooth for Brianna and Hunter between her amnesia and the possibility of her being in love with the father of her baby and him with her. They could have a wonderful life except that she was running away from people that were trying to kill her baby and he was priority. I thought this story was beautifully written and I know that I hung on each word. I know when an author captivates my attention from the very beginning that it’s going to be a great story. I know that I didn’t want to put it down but at some point I did have to go to sleep. The characters were well developed and love when a read is just easy to read. The chemistry between Brianna and Hunter is evident from the beginning the moment that he was helping her in the accident. The heated stares that they shared, the passionate kisses that they shared were hot. There was one disappointment and that was it was to short. I wanted a long epilogue; I wanted to know what happened in their future.

I truly recommend this story to all readers that just love to read a lovely, light read that will bring a smile to your face.

Very good book. The action and suspense started immediately and kept me hooked throughout the book. Hunter is out for a run when he is nearly run down by a speeding car. When the driver wrecks, he discovers a pregnant woman who is in labor. She is terrified, insisting that she's in danger, but can't remember anything from before the accident. Hunter can't abandon her, and after pretending to be her husband so he can stay with her, takes Brianna and baby Ben under his wing.

I loved Hunter's determination to keep them safe. As bits of her memory start to come back, the sense of danger grows even stronger. Attempts are made on her life that would have been successful if he wasn't with them. I loved seeing the way that Hunter is drawn to Brianna from the beginning. He has a lot of love to give, which is shown by his interactions with his family. Being the youngest, he also has some issues stemming from that. Hunter's feelings for Brianna move quickly from protective to love, but he doesn't feel like he stands a chance against a real prince. But no matter what his own feelings are, he wants what is best for them.

Brianna is terrified when she regains consciousness and can't remember anything except the sense that she is in big danger. Hunter's presence gives her a feeling of safety and she begs him to stay with her. She is so grateful for his care of them, especially when there are attempts made on her life. As her memory starts to return, she is also confused. If she was in love with her baby's father, how could she be having these feelings for Hunter? What she feels for him is so different and so much stronger. Brianna worries about doing the right thing for her son, but also wants a chance at true happiness for herself. When the ending came, she had a choice to make. I loved seeing the way she worked it all out.

I really enjoyed the suspense aspect of the book. From the start we learn little bits at a time as Brianna regains her memory. Her worries for Chris's safety, once she remembers him are strong. The video message from him seems to indicate he's alright, but Hunter is suspicious of it. Those suspicions are validated later when something he said casts doubt on the rest of the message. Brianna's fear and confusion are easy to sense as she works to recover her memories. The ending confrontation had an interesting twist and lots of intensity as they attempt to save themselves.

Protecting Her Royal Baby is by Beth Cornelison.
Hunter Mansfield did the only reasonable thing when a car that almost hit him crashed and rolled into a ditch. Little did his know that his world would change as soon as he helped Brianna Coleman, driver of the car. Pulled into helping the woman who is in labor (he does not want to leave her since she has no memory of her past) he tells the EMT’s and the hospital that he is her husband. Once he learns that the baby is the son of a Prince and is second in line for the monarchy, that his father is missing, and that someone is trying to kill Brianna and her son Ben, he insists on continuing his protection of her and Ben. Can he just help her and not lose his heart to the beautiful young lady?
Brianna Coleman talks to Prince Cristoff just before she goes into labor. He had come to her house to talk to her about the baby and to warn her that danger would follow. While he is talking to her, three men break in and take Prince Cristoff into custody at gunpoint. Cristoff had told her to run and she got in her car to leave. As she was leaving, one of the men came to the front door and shot at her car. Now she is fleeing and is in labor! On the way to the hospital, she runs into Hunter Mansfield and wrecks her car. Rescued by a very handsome young man and taken to the hospital to have her son, Brianna remembers nothing of her past. She does know that she is depending on Hunter and knows she can’t continue to do that. What will become of her baby and herself while she waits to regain her memory? Will Hunter be there with her or not? When she does remember Chris, she discovers he is missing and her son could be in danger. How can she manage without her memory?

The story started off with a dramatic chase and Brianna almost run over Hunter in the process. She crashed and was in labor. Hunter send her to the hospital and she delivered a healthy baby. But she could not remember as a result of a concussion from the crash. There was no possibility of him leaving her behind with her new-borns baby. Hunter knows that someone wanted her dead. With her state of mind, Brianna clings to Hunter and begged him not to leave her. He told everyone and signed the paperwork as her husband and father to her baby. As day passed, she begin to remember bits by bits the memory and as she recalled the reason for people who wanted her dead, she asked Hunter to go with her to find the truth. And in the process, she have to make the decision as to whom she loved most.
It is a wonderful read for me even though the journey wasn’t smooth for Brianna and Hunter. They met at the worst possible way and yet, I happy that they found the happiness that they deserve in the end. I like the ending too with a twist that I did not expect it to come. 

OMG - I absolutely adored this book. I couldn't wait to turn the page. I liked the twist on the amnesia thing, especially we as the reader knew what she'd forgotten. I found the phone call from the prince thing a little too obvious, but maybe it was meant to be. I'm so glad I picked this book up to read. I I gotta track down others in the series because I loved the Mansfield family.

A great quick read for sitting by the pool. Romance, bad guys, a king, a baby, and a hot Mansfield brother. There's some kissing and heavy petting but no sex a very PG rated book.

A good mix of suspense and romance. A vast improvement on some of the harlequin books I've had the misfortune to read, recently. This one kept me interested and was quite well-written. And it actually had a plot!

Who needs fairy tales? ..when a simple life can offer one for real.

Bri did it right...she grabbed what she was offered with both hands 'Hunter is certainly a fairy tale for her and she for him' :)
