Will Trent be able to maintain the pretense when he has to babysit his niece, who happens to be in Lindsay’s class?

* The Cowboy's Christmas Plan - Trey Thompson just wanted a housekeeper and cook. He never planned on falling in love with Cadence Greer. She takes the job, right along with his heart.
* The Cowboy's Spring Romance - Trent Thompson is confident, laid-back, and easy going except when he's around Lindsay Pierce. He's definitely met his match in the lovely school teacher.
* The Cowboy's Summer Love - Travis Thompson has loved Tess Morgan as long as he can remember. When they both return home to Grass Valley, the pull of attraction to one another is so strong it's about to throw them off kilter.
* The Cowboy's Autumn Fall - Brice Morgan thinks love at first sight is for idiots, at least until he meets Bailey Bishop and falls head over heels for the serious, career-minded girl.
* The Cowboy's New Heart - Denni Thompson emphatically declares herself too old to love again. Then she meets hunky Hart Hammond and decides to give love a second chance.
* The Cowboy's Last Goodbye - Since he assumes the plague would be more pleasurable to experience than the state of wedding bliss, Ben Morgan is more determined than ever to remain single. Right up until Harper Hayes steals his heart.

What a sensational and phenomenal book! Shanna Hatfield’s - The Cowboy’s Spring Romance was a delightful escape back to The Triple T Ranch. This is the best book, it catapulted to the top of my favorite contemporary books, of all time. Trent and Lindsey were the most fun-loving couple, but little Cass stole my heart. Add in Trey, Cady, Travis, and all the Triple T Ranch hands, who embrace family values, as God intended. Hats off to Shanna Hatfield for such a beautiful love story with laughter, tears, acceptance, and most of all, LOVE.
Very sweet and clean romance. It took quite a long time for that first kiss to happen! Not too much angst (other than Lindsay’s mother), so good for people who like a happy story. Lots of ranching atmosphere and a cute kid, too. Excellent writing & editing.
“Have you known me to waste time saying things I don’t mean?” Lips pressed against his warm neck, she inhaled his outdoorsy scent. “Trent, being in a relationship with someone isn’t all romance and roses. There’s a lot of plain old everyday stuff, too. I understand that. So should you. Although, I certainly do enjoy the romance part of it.”
I don't have anything against kindergarten teachers in real life. I just don't like them in romance. As characters, they are so sweet and loving. Inoffensive. Bland.
Ah.... sigh... a nice, spunky, sweet romance. Clean all the way. No hissy fits or impervious divas here. No soap opera here.
If you like that kind of story, you'll love this book!
Now for the tiny nitpicker in me....
If you have three brothers in a story, and all are main characters, don't give them similar names! Trey, Trent, and Travis... until the halfway point in the book, I found it hard to tell them apart. I even mistook Travis for Trent until I finally determined that Trent was the main love interest.
Even two female characters, Cady and Cass, mother and child daughter, have similar names... groan.
One more point was the characterization given to the main female love interest's mother, who disapproves of the romantic relationship. Indeed, there are women like her, disdainful and haughty. But more often than not, they hide it well, and are sweetly agreeable in public. This mother came off as too unbelievably rude in front of company. I would make it more subtle, and save her brittle nerves for her discussions with her adult daughter.
Other than that, great book! Loved learning about life and business on the ranch.
This is a clean Christian romance. I would have liked to have known that before I started reading, and for it to have been a little clearer within the book itself that this is the second in a series (I spent the entire book waiting to find out what happened to the little girl's parents, only to discover by the marketing at the end that this was the subject of the first book.)
Basically, the story is of a rancher and a schoolteacher who act like they don't like each other but secretly do. Slowly they come together, start dating, and get engaged. The story could use more conflict, so that it reads less like this happened, then this happened, and then this other thing happened--all happy and light and positive, but lacking in intrigue. Nothing major was keeping them apart until the mean mother popped up at the end, which could have added more conflict had she shown up a lot sooner. Also, the characters often blended into each other, with the manly ranchers taking long, hot baths, laughing until tears rolled down their cheeks, gushing, etc.
That said, as a clean Christian romance the novel reads well enough, and is entertaining, as long as you are aware of the genre.
Good story and different from the usual - boy meets girl, fall in love, have argument and have to make up. Makes this book even more enjoyable.
Lindsey is tall, very tall for a woman, but she knows how to use it to her advantage. She's athletic, and beautiful. And in her kindergarten class there is a certain red head that has an uncle that gets under her skin. In comes Trent, even taller than she, and rich, handsome and a cowboy to boot. They start off bad, but both come around to finding that they were meant for each other.
Hatfield writes a feel good, make you smile romance story. I found it engaging and interesting and would read and recommend her books to others.
Absolutely Perfect!! A Shanna Hatfield book can always chase the gloom and doom out of my mind or at least let me escape and forget it for awhile. Trent and Lindsey’s story was phenomenal as all of Shanna Hatfield books are. I was completely drawn into this book. I would laugh out Loud at times especially when Trent took Cass his 5 yr old niece to school the morning he let her dress herself. That part alone is worth reading this book. Once again it’s a Shanna Hatfield book that’s Great, Awesome and just Amazing as always nothing else needs to be said
What a great book! Lindsay and Trent provided me with many laughs as they got together. I loved watching their relationship develop overtime. They helped each other, they had misunderstandings, they forgave each other, and they had sweet romantic moments. So many sweet romantic moments!
This is the second book in the series, but does stand-alone. After reading this one, you won’t be able to resist picking up the first book, though. :)
Trent, the middle of the three Thompson brothers, has wanted to ask out Lindsay Pierce, Cass's kindergarten teacher, ever since she moved to Grass Valley three years ago. Every time he gets around her though, he loses his nerve and makes lame jokes instead. Misunderstanding and hurt by his behavior, Lindsay tries to avoid Trent and not reveal her feelings about him.
The Cowboy's Spring Romance, Book 2 of Grass Valley Cowboys, starts a month after Trey and Cady's story. While they are away on their honeymoon, Trent and his brother Travis are in charge of babysitting Cass which Shanna Hatfield uses to begin another hilarious and sweet romance. Readers are in for a treat to see an unexpected side of Trent as well as more of the rest of the family.
I won a Kindle copy of this book. I volunteered to read it and write a review. I purchased a paperback edition as well.
Boy Ms. Hatfield is always at the top of her game. She writes the most wonderful romance stories I think I have ever read. From the first word it pulls you right in and leaves you wanting more throughout the entire story. This is the third story in the Grass Valley Romances. Trent the second oldest is after the new school teacher who has avoided him for two years. He needs a whole new game plan but he is always tongue tied and when he talks it’s always the wrong thing, he says to her. Lindsey is tall and athletic and beautiful and as she watches Trent bring his niece to her class everyday she starts to see a different side to this ruggedly handsome man. He thinks she is just perfect for him and decides to start a new with her. The first date they go one is a wonderful one that she was thrilled with and decides he’s not so bad after all. This is another must read in the of the Thompson men at the Triple T Ranch in Grass Valley, OR. It’s a page turner for sure. I loved this story.
As always another beautifully written story by the author in the Grass Valley series. I loved, loved, loved this. It's sweet so even the youngest reader can enjoy. In places comical and romantic all the way to keep you chuckling and smiling throughout. Don't we all need that? And to top it off a delicious recipe at the end. What could be better? Here you have a story to warm your heart, entertain you antics and an adorable little girl, and fill you with love with a capital "L". A big thank you to the author.
Another great book! I loved the story of Lindsay and Trent. I loved that there wasn't constant conflict and a demanding, cold leading lady. I loved the romantic surprises that Trent did for Lindsay, especially towards the end with her mother.
Two things I didn't like: how horribly mean Lindsay treated Trent when he tried running with her. I could see giggling and a little teasing, but she was downright cruel. And Cady wasn't much better. The other thing was the abrupt ending. But all in all, it was a great story! On to #3 and Travis!
I enjoyed this book. The characters and plot were well-developed, and the story was free of sex scenes and violence. I liked the characters, especially Trent, who as busy as he was managed to find time for his little niece and Lindsay, his love interest. He did act out of character one time, and that incident turned out to be humorous in the end. I am ready to read the next book in the series to see what happens with Trent's brother Travis. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good love story to escape with.
Romance, sweet, contemporary, western; series but stand alone read Trent and Lindsay’s story started out as misperceptions, and fear of asking out. Circumstances put them in the same space, and they finally break apart the tensions, and open up their hearts. Helping each other, challenging each other, and taking time for what matters most, including some romance and fun lead to their HEA. Mixing in a sweet little girl, sad dog, family and a big race made for a fun fall, and fun sweet romance.
This series is so great! I read the first book ages ago and enjoyed it. This one is just as good. All of the characters are wonderful and the interactions between them are realistic. The romance is beautifully portrayed and although the faith of the characters isn't the central theme of the story, the author portrays people who live by their faith without making them overly "saintly" and unrealistic.
This is a great book - cowboys and romance. Shanna does a great job of including characters from previous books and introducing new characters for the next book all without creating any vacuum in the story making you feel like you should have read the series in order. All that to say it can be read as a stand alone and out of order, but of course you'll totally want to!
I liked Trent from when he arrived on the page of Book 1. I wasnt sure about Lindsey but I grew to like her alot. I am so happy we had lots of time with the whole Thompson family.
There was alot more smooching going on in this book, than book 1 - which I didnt mind.
Great story, but the ending was a little rushed - probably because there is another book in the series - however I would have liked to see a little more of Trent and Lindsey's HEA
Slow start to this one, and it will probably move faster if you read the 1st book (which I think I have, but it's been a while). The romance is good in this, story is nice, and the conflicts and resolutions are believable and well done. I'm not sure I get the way the two feel about each other in the beginning, but they work it out. It is a standalone (but, as I said some parts might make more sense if you read book 1) and there is HEA.
This is the book to make you fall in love with love. I couldn't put it down. Lindsay is a local school teacher who has always felt awkward because of her height and not feeling as feminine as what she thought men really wanted. Trent is a hard working ranch owner who has a play boy reputation. When he first meets Lindsay he is smitten but she doesn't hide her distaste for him. You'll fall in love with the characters and their path to love!
This was a really great story about Trent and Lindsey. Lindsey was the first grade teacher and Trent was one of the Thompson Brothers. They owned the Triple T Ranch. Trey and Caddy had gone on their honeymoon and Trent and Travis were responsible for Cass going to school. Needless to say a romance was sure to bloom, enjoy Trent and Lindsey finding true love.
I really enjoyed this book and the plot line. It was nice to have a book that spent some time on the relationship and time during the dating period. It was very much different than other romance books that work the story up to "getting the girl" and then right to the Epilogue for the wedding. There was a lot more to this book than that. I really enjoyed this storyline.
Several of the characters were undeveloped. Perhaps this was for sequels perhaps not. Rather superficial treatment of the secondary characters. Many vignettes were begging for more description. Good basic storyline but needs more development and descriptions.
It is always fun to read a sweet romance story. Trent and Lindsay certainly seem like they are not totally opposites and really do not like each other. Both of them do a great job of hiding behind a façade. I really enjoyed reading this story and love how brothers tease each other but are still there when the chips are down.
His brother is away on his honeymoon so he and his other brother have to care for their niece. The school teacher is beautiful and has him tongue tied. But a couple of things change his mind and he asks her for a date. It goes so well and so they are falling in love. It’s a romantic time for her and he’s her knight.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone! The sweet ups and downs of a cowboys life mixed with a smart, loveable school teacher who has a mother which doesn't accept her as she is, yet....
Really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next one.. This author really know how to keep the reader interested and the story flowing. Love the story line and the area where the author is talking about and the story is about
The Cowboys Spring Romance: I love the men and women of Triple T. I loved how flustered Trent got around Lindsay. It was a good romance. I loved the support that the Triple T family have to Lindsay. It was great dialog and story.
Enjoyable read. Clean read. Moved along with a few twists, but nothing too dramatic. Liked that it wasn't the tragic twist. Good read nice e getting to know the family.
Now that cowboy, Trent and his brother are sitting for their bros new adopted daughter. Cass loves all her family and her teacher. But Trent and her teacher don't seem to be close.Lots of things can happen at the Triple T.
Definitely a chick flick with lots of romance. It was fun to drift away into the story and pretend I was Lindsay and getting romanced by Trent and being involved with the ranch and the Thompson family. What a fun life that would have been for real.
