What Is Smudging:A Beginner's Guide To The Essentials

Rate this book
Smudging has been used in many different circles for thousands of years. It is not only a tool to remove bad energies and negative harmony from places that are important to you, it can also be used as part of your spiritual self development practises on a regular basis. Smudging helps to connect and enhance your spiritual bonds and improves your psychic connection to your goddess, inner counselor, higher self, God, or whatever you choose to call that hidden helpful force of goodness. Smudging is based on positive intention as well as harnessing the spiritual forces for whatever purpose you need. Whether that is attracting abundance into your life, or help with getting a promotion or a new job. It can even help you to attract a new mate, friend or companion into your life, making you feel more fulfilled and happy than you thought you could be. Some negative vibrations in an area, whether that is home or some other personal space, can have a very detrimental effect on a person's mental health. Whether those negative vibes are caused by a bad relationship, arguments or are residue from previous occupants of a house (yes that can happen which is why you should always carry out a smudging ceremony smudge your home when you move into it), they an be removed or neutralized with the help of smudging. Smudging is not a static ritual, rather it is a ceremonial blessing that evolves with you. You don't need to be an expert in Native American lore or even overly spiritual, just having a positive desire and natural humility is enough. One of the most affirming features of smudging is the self empowering effect it has. The more you practice or carry out the ceremonies, the more you feel confident and empowered. This will of course spill out into other aspects of your life. Do take what you learn from this little book and put it into practice. Also, if something does not resonate for you then disregard it. I am not going to go fall in a heap in the corner crying if anyone does not follow my guidance. After all, we all have free will and what's the use in having that if we blindly follow another person's instruction? Use you own judgement and imagination to build a great life for yourself and remember to share with others so they can have improve their life too.

Loved the book

Easy to follow instructions regarding the practice of smudging. I liked the fact that the rationale for using various herbs was included. Being new to the practice I found this information valuable.

A good first book on smudging

This is a good book to get started smudging. This book is not a definitive work and is not meant to be.

It was a good general overview, although I do feel it belabored some common sense stuff a little bit too much. It would definitely get you started though if you are looking for a general overview and to get started as a beginner.

Great read!

Very easy to read and understand. It doesn't go to much into the background but definitely shows you how to jump start your smudging.
