Was surprisingly funny. I got what I wanted out of this book but I do wish the author wasn't advertising hypnosis in every chapter and how great it is in every sentence, if a person's reading the book they already semi agree with that statement or have already determined they don't but drilling it in was kinda repetitive and unnecessary.

Seriously. Fascinating.
This is an overview, very dumbed-down, and still sparked an intellectual excitement for me. I want to go hypnotize somebody! Most people when they hear "hypnotism" think of being embarassed by some guy who makes you act like a duck on stage.
Think about it though, this is a big deal. Hypnosis definitely works, no question, for all sorts of problems. It helps people quit smoking, lose weight, allows a woman to have a baby with little or no pain, improves your performance in a sport, or for that matter can make someone act like a duck.
Maybe I can put myself under like the guy in the movie, "Office Space"? Whoops, I already act like that. Heh heh. I ordered other books on this subject that are more in-depth.

I'd given it a flying five stars if it fleshed out more how to reliably put people in trance.
Otherwise the book is brilliant, filled with delicious tidbits of historical and therapeutic insight, TCIGT Hypnosis provides the essential base of knowledge everyone should have about hypnosis both as a hypnotist and as a subject.

I cannot recommend this enough and wish you start thinking hypnotically about how minds work.

A 360 something BRICK book. Its a both funny and good book.
Contrains small bits of info that can be used to check techníques etc. Not a big "terapeutic" book, more into the idea of hypnosis and trance

Very good general introduction to the topic. If you are already knowledgeable regarding hypnosis, there won't be much new here.
