Rushing Winter

Rate this book
Since the Vietnam War, a farm in the back woods of South Carolina has produced expertly trained assassins. Foster children kidnapped and raised to be lethal shadows, operating outside of society in a life of perpetual servitude to the school. Rushing Winter was taken at twelve, indoctrinated to his fate, conditioned to kill, trained to not exist. As the most potent graduate of the school, the most effective member of The Children, Rushing is given an assignment; find a dead man in a photograph. His search will lead him to the truth, about the good deeds of a dead man and the dangerous pursuits of a corporation bent on overthrowing the United States Government. Rushing will have to decide if going against the school, against The Children is worth his life, worth the lives of countless innocent Americans…worthy enough to atone for all the wrongs he has done. From Atlanta to Reno, to the deserts of Arizona, Rushing will stop at nothing to find the truth…to find himself.

Fantastic

I purchased this book shortly after being released out of respect for the author, Aaron Cowan, who is one of the good ones in the training industry. I probably shouldn’t be surprised Rushing Winter ended up being awesome but being a first novel there are usually some kinks to work out. Well it was a smash hit in my book and Aaron’s genius has once again been highlighted. Can’t wait to read the next books in the series!

Kept you interested

Far-fetched but entertaining. Sometimes a little over the top with descriptions of surroundings, but I still couldn't put it down. Reason for only 4 stars is mainly the spelling and grammar though. Continuously had to read sentences twice to make sense of them. No editor?

Outstanding

A well written and suspenseful action novel with plenty to keep you coming back. Written by one of the most knowledgable gentlemen to ever grace the firearms industry.

My boyfriend convinced me to read this book and I was pleasantly surprised and how amazing it was (as we like totally different styles of literature) now I’m obsessed and turning the pages to the second book, can’t wait to see what the rest of the series brings!
