Being the only child of an infamous mafia family is hard, especially when my father wanted a son but got a daughter. Add being an omega, and it’s worse. My day to day life is filled with thugs to protect me and violence I just can't escape. My father controls every aspect of my life, including who I can date.
Omegas like me are choice property and worth millions to the right buyer.
When I'm taken by Father's enemies, I fear my fate is sealed. If I don't give these men what they want, I could lose more than I already have. If I do, I could lose myself.
But maybe I don’t know who I am.
Now that I’ve had a taste of true freedom, I crave them even as I fight against their demands. My oncoming heat looms, reminding me that I desperately need an alpha. Or three. But Jarek and I hate each other, Rafael betrayed me, and Milo thinks I’m dead. Since those are the only three alphas I’ve ever been attracted to, I feel as if I’m out of luck.
Then Milo unexpectedly shows up, and I think I’m being rescued. But my captors make him an offer he may not refuse. Will he join them against my family?
I'm torn between my loyalty to my family and my attraction to these men. If I make the wrong decision, I could destroy everything.

You have ❄️ Enemies to lovers ❄️ Rivals ❄️ Age Gap ❄️ Forced Proximity ❄️ Beauty and the Beast vibes ❄️ Protective alphaholes ❄️ Secrets ❄️ Standalone ❄️Knøtting, nęşting, heat
This is actually my introductory to M.P. Starkweather's work, so I really wasn't sure what to expect. This was soooo good. Don't let all of the different tropes scare you, M.P. Starkweather's storytelling and worldbuilding is absolutely phenomenal. It all went so well together! I absolutely enjoyed this book and definitely worth the read! I'm gonna check out the rest of her backlist!
I honestly couldn't finish this, it was literally that bad. I got about 40 pages into this, and couldn't bear it anymore.
For starters, the book begins on a very ambiguous note. She has already been kidnapped and held captive for a week, but we know nothing of how it happened, she's just kinda there. It's so abrupt and random that I initially thought that it was part of a series and I had accidently started reading the second book... that's not the case. I wish that there was a little bit better description and explanation, especially considering it's right at the beginning.
Then, there's all these super weird allusions right off the bat of how they (Jarek and Rafael) only kidnapped her to protect her from her dad trying to kill her, and how they're in love with her. Then Milo is an undercover FBI agent who is, for some reason dating Vanessa (who is a mob daughter) and at one point he mentioned how he was pulled from his case to her dad for some reason? Basically a bunch of information that you don't expect to be constantly brought up right at the beginning of a standalone book, especially when it's not a prologue or prelude to the future. That sort of information is built up to and developed or revealed over time, not upfront with no inhibitions.
I also had an issue with a lot of contradictions happening. At one point Milo thinks to himself of Vanessa, uses a very standoff-ish tone and impersonal context by referring to her as 'kid' (the same way you would with someone you don't know) when they were supposedly dating, and then the next moment he's saying how he needs to find her because he loves her and they planned to run away together. Another contradiction, Jerek beats up some of his goons and refers to the two guys as friends, then the next pov Raf refers to the same goons as being twin brothers. Also, there was a really strange romantic vibe between Raf and Vanessa which implied that they had kissed and potentially done more in the last few months he was around, yet she was also somehow dating Milo. It just doesn't add up even if it was an open relationship or whatnot, it seems like the author just wanted to have every plot point she could without actually caring about if the facts lined up right or not.
Now saving the worst of it all for last... the absolute atrocity that is the amount of mafia clichés in this is too much. It was so damn bad that I was physically cringing with how uncreative it all was. I didn't even read that much of this book and it was so packed with cringey clichés, that I can only imagine the absolute horror it would have been to try and sit through reading the rest of it. Think of a low grade budget film with the worst actors you could get to spew all that they think they know about the mafia, and that's basic the equivalent to this.
Over all, this was truly horrible and I can't even fathom how someone could get through reading all 300+ pages of that and give it a rating that is higher that 1 star (even that is generous, because it really should be zero stars)
I enjoyed the plot as a whole, it was pretty decent from cover to cover. I really enjoy seeing mafia x omegaverse crossover tropes, it’s hardly done. I really enjoyed that it wasn’t a hormones fest. it’s acknowledged but it’s not the main focus of the story and that’s something I really like to see in omegaverse novels because it gives the characters more substance and the plot is a lot stronger because of it.
what I didn’t like:
first and foremost, I did not like the formatting of the chapters at all. I think the multiple aspects would’ve been much more seamless if they were given their own chapters. the formatting honestly made me feel like I was reading this book forever because of that and it took me out of the story several times.
but also the story jumps straight into the plot. it felt like when you’re going to go swim in a pool and you have to dunk yourself in the cold water in order to hurry up and get used to the temperature. I think this could’ve been done smoother.
special notes:
I received this book as an arc and all opinions on this own. I would recommend this book for those looking for omegaverse novels to fill the itch but it’s not one that I would immediately list when giving recommendations if that makes sense. this is the second novel I’ve read by this author, the first I honestly DNF’d and this one definitely read smoother.
tropes:
omegaverse, reverse harem, mafia, contemporary, touch her and die
triggers:
kidnapping, violence, gun violence, torture, borderline stockholm syndrome
spice:
the spice was okay. if I’m being honest, it wasn’t necessarily anything that stood out from other omegaverse novels

Vanessa(Ness) is an omega as such she has never had any ability to have any sway over her own life, and the emotional and verbal abuse by her Alpha father who was ahead of the Dragonetti mafa family. The fact she was not the son he wanted and he would never have an heir. Made Ness useless to him except as a possible paycheck to be auction off to the highest bidder. When Ness managed to end that plan, and Rafael(Raf) her body guard who was to keep her safe but, Rafe had fallen for her, and the day he found out that her father Dragonetti had taken out a contract to have her killed. Rafael had to call his cousin as he was under cover for the mafa D'Angelo family. He let his cousin Jarek know what was going on and they hatch a plan to save her. The kidnapped her and faked her death even pulled out a tooth to leave to verify by DNA it was her. Her captors were in fact her saviors, however Ness did not believe that. However, as time went by and she was allowed to be her own person and more information came out she saw the truth. Unknown to Ness Milo, the FBI agent that she had fallen for was looking for her as he did not believe that she was dead. When he realized his mistake that he had let her father know, and her father had told him to get out of town, he knew he had to find her and let her know. The story of how Jarek, Raf, Milo, and Ness came together as a pack of their own, how they figure out what to do about her father. The twist and turns. The shocking twist of events at the end of story. This story between lack of trust to torture, and learning to love keeps you spellbound.
It took me longer than usual to read this one. You are thrown right in from the first chapter and it can be disorienting at first. Almost like you've stumbled upon something interesting but need a few minutes to acclimate to what it actually going on.
The author does a good job of offering multiple perspectives to give each character as much depth as possible. Tho at times it felt a little abrupt with how quickly the POV would change.
I loved the way the FMC was written. She's an omega which usually lands her in a damsel in distress type category. However, Vanessa is anything but. While she does need help in navigating a dangerous situation, she's not one to sit back and let the boys handle everything. Its a refreshing take on how designations don't need to define everything about you.
Starkweather also offered a view of how finding a strong willed mate can effect the alphas' instincts. Their feelings being at odds with their instincts creates an interesting tension that doesn't require outside influence to push it along. It's in their nature to need their mate to submit, but the relationship and love they have with her requires compromise. It was a unique view into how that dynamic may work, contrary the usual "omega does it because the alpha says so" type situations you tend to find within the omegaverse.
It has Enemies to lovers vibes but the lack of background makes it lose some of its power. However, the spice was great and not out of place.
Great read, and I would love to read more. Maybe some prequels to give us more depth on how all the different players got to where they are at the start of this one.
This was my first experience with omegaverse. I wanted to dip my toe in this genre, but with this book I straight up dipped my whole body in it!!! 😳😂🥵 I can honestly say this genre will now be added to my list for future books. It gave me all the feels in all the places. This book’s storyline was well put together. Everything flowed so smoothly with no hiccups and odd out-of-placements. The spiciness is 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ and the overall rating is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
Vanessa (Ness) is an omega fathered by an infamous mafia boss, Dragonetti. He controls her comings and goings of her every day life. She always had a bodyguard with her to prevent her from straying off. With her being an omega, she cannot date just any person, but only who her father chooses for her. She is to be sold for the right price making her lose any kind of freedom she may have had. Before she could be sold, she is stolen away by Dragonetti’s enemies. Why?? What’s going on here?? Ness feels she has lost all freedom now, but soon finds that she has gained it with her captors. Jarek is an alpha asshat, Raf betrayed her by acting like her bodyguard under her father’s watch and Milo shows up not realizing Ness is still alive. Will these three team up with Ness against her father? Will they all form a bond that cannot be broken? Ness has a heat coming on soon and these guys know it. Will she become their omega bonding and forming a pack that will fight against her father? You definitely need to give this book a read to find out.
Cold Princes is a standalone RH Omegaverse book that I thought was an enjoyable read. As my read pile collects more omega reads, I found this one to be a bit different in the sense that this FMC had a bit more bite to her as the book progressed. She had consistently been under her mafia fathers thumb , her whole life, never making any decisions for herself, so when she had the chance to do so, she went full steam ahead and surprised me a bit with some of the changes we as the reader got to see! Not a bad thing at all, I enjoyed being surprised! That being said, the character development and growth of Ness was done well. I didn’t quite know how I felt about Jarek and Raf at first but as the story continued, I quickly grew to enjoy their personalities. Milo was one whom I liked right away and loved how he never gave up on Ness. This story is told in multi pov which is great, it always adds more depth to the story in my opinion. The mix of mafia and omega trope was well done, the story itself moves at a quicker pace, but being a standalone it made sense, it wasn’t overly fast and still moved at a comfortable reading pace, it flowed well and was overall a spicy, exciting read that kept me entertained to the end!
What happens when you get kidnaped by your fathers’ enemies and one of those men that done it was a man that you thought you could trust, the problem being he wasn’t your bodyguard but is your enemies cousin.
The thing is she is a mafia princess and all needs to do is hold out as her father will come for her wont he and then Milo her boyfriend wont leave her here.
Things arent as they seem and MP Starkweather takes us on a journey with an omega mafia princess who knows to show her inner strength but also how to push buttons and get what she wants. The men that have her the pure alpha male who is in charge and has loved ness from a far and his cousin who is in love her and shows the sweeter side of the two. Join us as the characters develop and learn to grow as a unit together. Can Jarek learn to share and trust those around him. what happens when Milo follows his gut.
Things in this story are not plain sailing a when you think you know what is going on MP Starkweather hits you with a curveball. This story grips you and you love how our characters grow and interact together.
Great story! You’ll be hooked instantly with this enemies to lovers/Romeo(s) and Juliet style mafia romance.
The storyline was interesting and had me hooked instantly. I loved the characters even when I wanted to throat punch all of them. All of these guys are secretly soft but only for our FMC and it was beautiful to watch their story unfold.
The biggest complaint I have is that some of the dialogue didn’t flow well, it was at times forced and the FMC tried to be a total BA but it wasn’t flowing well. It felt untrue to her real personality but was thrown in because it’d make her fit better with the alphas. I liked her and I like the guys, but at times it didn’t feel like it flowed quite right.
Also, I think a novella that was based on the year prior with her bodyguard and boyfriend. We were told a few things that were from the past that didn’t flow into the story naturally. It would’ve been perfect to have a novella where she’s dating her BF with the bodyguard having a couple chapters in his POV and them overhearing the threats that inspired everything in this book to start.
Cold Princes is a contemporary, mafia, omegaverse romance that is written by M.P. Starkweather.
💜 omegaverse 💜 why choose 💜 forced proximity 💜 mafia 💜 found family 💜 🌶🌶🌶🌶spice
Vanessa just doesn’t understand what is happening. Everything is so confusing since she was taken. Not only that but they also made it look like she was completely taken out. Why would these guys do that? Also, she’s so mad that her one bodyguard is in on this. Will she ever get free? Will she be able to continue to fight her feelings that she is starting to feel for these two? Also, why did they do this? Will she ever get the answers she’s looking for?
This story jumps right into the thick of it with both feet. No slow buildup of the characters and world. Nope. Just right in. You do get to know all of the important characters pretty quickly as the story gets going. It’s such a great take on an omegaverse with a mafia spin. I love how Vanessa isn’t a timid omega either. This was a fun story that I enjoyed from the very beginning.
Omegaverse with a mafia spin. These are two themes that I’ve not found paired together very often, and that made this all the more intriguing. It was fascinating to watch these alphas and their omega be both fierce and vulnerable together. Though, our fearless leading lady occasionally left me scratching my head over just how very alpha she was at times, particularly since Vanessa was the omega. I enjoyed seeing her morph from sheltered princess to kick-butt queen prepared to take over her father’s empire, but there were times it was confusing how she knew so much and so little at the same time about the mafia world she lived in. I adored her alphas. Jarek, Raf, and Milo were all so different, and yet they all had the same goal: protect and cherish their omega. I still haven’t quite managed to wrap my brain around the ending. It was exactly what they needed, but it’s not at all how I thought it was going to happen. I received a complimentary advance copy of this book from the author.
"My family believes I'm dead. The world believes I'm dead. Even Milo thinks I'm dead. Jarek is right. They'll never look for me now. None of them." Vanessa "Ness", has been kidnapped and her death faked. No one is coming for her. Her captors want her to tell them where "it" is, but won't tell her what "it" is. It is an impossible situation, one she can't see her way out of. To make matters worse her heat is looming and with her already attracted to her kidnappers, will she be able to resist them? This was a really enjoyable book. I love omegaverse and for a while now I have been enjoying a mafia romance here and there too so this was an ideal book choice for me. There was plenty going on throughout the book throughout this book and I loved seeing how Ness evolved and came into herself. At around 75% I thought the story had more or less played itself out but no, the author threw a couple more curveballs in there which I really didn't see coming! I really do highly recommend this book
Great omega/alpha story. Vanessa (Nessa) is an omega who finds herself kidnapped by a rival family. Is it for ransom? What do they want with her? She finds out she knows one of her kidnappers and maybe life isn't so bad as she finds she's attracted to her captors. She's only missing one thing/person, and she feels she could have a 'pack' and be happy.
Secrets are revealed, bonds are formed, and it's time to take down a bad man, father, and human. More secrets come to us all the way to the end, mind blowing ones, but letters from the grave bring revelations.
This one is a hefty book, but it's needed, every page, every word sets this story up. Steamy, bonding, and so much love on these pages. An epilogue that gives you all your tied up loose ends, and the HEA that our omega deserved for years!
Happy reading if you love mafia, omegaverse, RH, and strong FMC.
M.p.s. written such Amazing books i loved her book cold princes. I love following Vanessa in her journey and i loved to read her growth as a character…. I just really love the Way this author writes… all the books she writes is always soo good and always keeps me on my toes… the Way she writes is soo intresting.. i have loved all the books i have read by her… i love Vanessas story and i love watching her realstionship with the guys grow stronger and stronger…. I really loved the story and the characters… i loved that we Got introduced to new characters and that you have questions in the end about Them… this is a really intresting story
I highly recommed that people read her book cold princes and if you haven’t read this book yet Then What are you waiting for you are really missing out on something …
Ok, let’s see… a mafia book, not my favorites but I like M.P. Starkweather. But… it’s an omegaverse as well…. And a RH… with knotting…. Ok, now I’m lost 😊 On the paper, I feared to have to deal with the weirdest book ever, mixing so many tropes in one single book, and not a short one…. Oh my, was I wrong! M.P. Starkweather succeeded in creating a very enjoyable story, fast paced, with a very good characters’ construction and evolution, enough twists and turns to keep the reader hooked to the pages, enough smut to make it steamy, but not the main point – as sometime happens – of the whole book. Vanessa is a strong character, not an entitled doll, and this alone could have kept me interested. The play between good and bad, appearance, who’s to trust and who’s not, and that there’s always more that what meets the eyes…. 100% recommended
I loved this book. Once again, this author shows her writing chops. Jarek and Raf kidnapped and made it look like Vanessa was De@d right out of the gate. Both of the men are Alphas. They are polar opposite in hiw they treat her though, Raf was her bodyguard working for her dad and had to hide he was in love with her while working for the rival m@fia family. Vanessa shows us that she's not a weak omega, and the story progresses with much character growth for all of them. Then we have Milo, the FBI agent who follows his gut because he's also in love with Nessa. He doesn’t believe she has been unalived. This book has so many twists. Her father tries to convince others that he loved her!, whole working to make $ off of her. I've read this authors books before and have enjoyed them, but mixing mafia with Omegaverse was definitely up my ally. I highly recommend it.
I love anything in the shifter world and combining that with the mafia, makes for a unique read.
The heroine Vaness "Ness" was taken from her mafia family, who by the way treated her horribly, just because she was not the son they wanted and the "stigma" of being an omega.
The men who took her show her the truth about her family and in the end she finds her happily ending (won't tell you with who or whom so as not to spoil anything).
The book had plenty of spice because you can't have an omega not without some alphas in the mix!
One of my favorite quotes was "Just know that it’s true. I want you to be mine forever.”
Who doesn't love a main male character who says things like this! Definitely read it, you won't regret it!
I love both Mafia and Omegaverse genre of books, so reading a blended Mafia Omegaverse was a true delight! Vaness was born into an affluent mafia family that has suffered neglect due to not being the male heir her parents desired. Further complicating her life is her Omega status, which is unfairly seen as a weakness. Ness is abducted and imprisoned in a dungeon by her family’s adversaries. The story unravels with startling revelations about Ness’ family. I loved the exciting suspense and slow-burning romantic development between Ness and her men. I was definitely rooting for Ness to find her happily-ever-after that she definitely deserved! Overall, this was an engaging read that was enjoyable!
I mafia / omega story. I gotta say, I read some omega stories, but I still don't consider them my thing. The ones I read I enjoy but I think that's more to do with the authors than anything else and same goes with this one. I really enjoy Starkweather's writing, great, smooth flowing storyline that's captivating with its characters and in this read I really enjoyed the mafia twist on it. In this book, my favorite aspect was probably the character development of our main female lead Vaness "Ness" going from meek and sheltered to strong and controlling. Overall, a great read with plenty of romance and so, so much more!
This book was given to me for free at my request and I voluntarily provided this review.
Vanessa is an Omega Mafia Princess, kidnapped and presumed dead. Held captive and questioned for information she has no idea how to answer. She is smart and adaptable and apparently linked to a group of sexy, stubborn, ‘enemy’ alphas. As she learns more about herself, she finds their clashes to be a turn on. She also learns that she has a darker side, which is a turn on for her alphas. Best of both worlds, right?
The book doesn’t waste anytime getting into the plot and while there is heat between the characters, it’s not all sexy time all the time. I would have liked a bit of build up, learning the main characters and how they ended up where they are at the start of the book, but you do get to know them throughout the storyline.
Cold Princes by M.P. Starkweather is such a great read! You will be hooked instantly right from the start and will most definitely fall in love with the Romeo and Juliet Mafia style romance.
The storyline was fantastic and I loved seeing the secretly soft, but only for the FMC, side to the men, even if sometimes they drove me nuts.
The story starts you off right in the middle of it, there is no slow build up of the characters and the world, but you do get to know the characters pretty quickly, which I loved. It is such a great take on the omegaverse with the mafia spin on it that I adored.
Cold Princes is an Omegaverse, Why Choose, Forced Proximity, Found family, Mafia romance novel with lots of spice.
Mafia romance meets omegaverse in this RH story. Vanessa has been born as a heir to mafia family, and being an omega her life has been restricted to control, obedience, and rules enforced by her father. Being kidnapped, all seems to be lost to her, until she gets the unexpected rescue - but the alphas she is attracted to, the cold princes, are not easy to get along with, not at all.. A thrilling and suspenseful story with fast plot development and interesting quartet of main characters, centered around the FMC who is strong and stubborn for an omega, does not give in easily and rather goes toe to toe with the alphas in her life. Nice read with a HEA.
Cold Princes, by M.P. Starkweather, is a standalone omegaverse romance with a unique Romeo and Juliet mafia twist that hits every note! Starkweather is a genius when it comes to writing omegaverse and this one is no exception—the plot, the storyline and the characters were all perfect too n!
This is the story of our FMC Vanessa, who is an omega living in a mafia world so she’s a total BA in her own right, and i was 100% there for it! And Milo, Jarek and Rafael are just the right mix for Ness and the perfect completion of their pack. If you love mafia romances with an omega verse twist full of spice and sexy protective alphas then this is the one for you!
M. P. Starkweather’s recent novel is one of the most exciting Omegaverse stories I’ve ever read. Vanessa, the main female character and omega, is kidnapped by her father’s enemies. The reason is not your typical money or power struggle but, to keep her safe? Why? That’s why you need to read this book to find out the answer. This book has plenty of exciting adventure, suspense, mystery, steamy situations with unexpected twists and turns that’ll keep you entertained until the very last page. This is the first time I’ve ever read anything by this author but it certainly won’t be my last. Highly recommended and definitely a MUST read!
This was an interesting take on Omegaverse with the mafia element added to it. At times, Ness kind of annoyed me. One minute, she was a typical omega and acted like she knew nothing of her father’s mafia business. In the next, she’s acting like an alpha that had been brought up to take over the family business. I enjoyed the story, but it read really slow for me for some reason. Nothing specific I can pinpoint…it just seemed longer than it actually was. It’s a bit of a slow burn with medium spice. There were a couple of small twists at the end. Overall, it was an entertaining read.
Cold Princes is a Mafia Omega story. So if you enjoy omega and Mafia stories ypu will enjoy this read.
Vaness is the only daugther a hier to a Mafia family but suffers from abuse due to not being a make but also because she is an Omega. She is unfotunatley kidnapped by the son of a rival family. She finds out some truths about her family whilst in thier care.
This book was a good read that I enjoyed reading. I love Mafia read and Omega reads so this was an exciting book to read of both genres
Ness is taken and presumed dead. Her captors Raf and Jarek want something from her but they also care deeply for her. She knows Raf but feels betrayed by him but is still drawn to him. Quiet as kept she is attracted to Jarek too. Milo is the guy she was dating before she was taken and when finds his way to Jarek and Raf in search of Ness things take an interesting turn. These four form a bond, a pack and are on a mission to destroy her father for what he has done. Good read with a new found family.
Ness is the daughter of a mafia family and also an omega. But when she is kidnapped but a rival family and they fake her death she starts to realise there is no one to save her....or just maybe the men who stole her are the real saviours....
M.P. Starkweather does an amazing job at writing a omegaverse mafia story. the spice is spicy, the plot is next level and the FMC is all the kinda of epic that you want in a story. Was utterly amazing to read and hope that we see more stories in this world one day.
Cold Princes was one heck of a thrilling read! Vanessa has not had the best life. Her father treats her like property, I mean, she isn't the son he wanted, and she is an omega. But when she is kidnapped, she realizes freedom is worth it all. Add in the elements of three uber-hot alphas, and Ness knows she cannot go back to how things were. However, in this mafia world she lives in, she has to be careful or she could lose everything. This was a heat filled read with incredible mafia vibes! And since it is a standalone, readers will be happy with a HEA!
