My Review:
I asked to review The Truth About Breaking Up, Making Up and Moving On , by Chad Eastham because I am the grand mother of 7 grand-daughters, four between the ages of 12-16. Chad has a great way of making a serious topic totally fun for teen boys and girls, between the ages of 13-17. He covers social media (FB, etc) today and its effects on teens as well as adults. Chad frequently puts himself "out there" and explains how he learned to deal with certain experiences he had problems with. This puts the young reader in a more receptive mood to take advice from the book. I learned a lot in this book myself which surprised me. I will be purchasing this book for members of my family.
Thank you, Chad for a much needed book for teens in the social media age we live in. You will learn how to break up, make up(or if your should) and how to gracefully move on.

This is an excellent book for all teenagers and their parents to read. The author has a great sense of humor and as you read the book you feel like you are having a fantastic conversation with a friend. The information he shares is personal and practical. I liked how he showed that the emotional times you are encountering as a teenager can help you become a better adult. I also liked that the book was not judgmental in any way but was very encouraging! I gave this book 5/5 stars. I would recommend this book for any teenager, youth group, or Sunday School class. It is a great book to read alone or with a group! This is a must read.

Chad’s no nonsense approach to relationships and dealing with inevitable conflicts is refreshing for a teen self help book. However, his conversational writing style is full of filler words and poorly executed sarcasm. The bad grammar gets in the way of the real substance he was trying to deliver.

I actually do not read self-help books in general and as much as possible, I avoid them. I just don't believe that it could really help me with my problems. So here I am reviewing one. Not a hypocrite but I just wanted to try and see for myself how insightful such books are. Just to clarify, my heart is perfectly happy and whole. Not broken, no need to move on. It's not glued or put together by a tape. I read this out of curiosity. I hope that's clear and I'm not being defensive. Haha.

Anyhow, aside from its sole purpose to help its readers by playing Doctor Love in a Heartbreak Hotel, I think it was very entertaining and fun to read. I love how the author infused his humor in narrating and discussing a reality that we all have experienced one way or another. We all had our hearts broken, maybe in different ways but that is our common denominator. I think this element is also a great help to somehow cheer up those readers who while reading the book are filling up a bucket full of tears. I also like the hint of sarcasm which is sometimes the last resort we do to push an idea or advice to someone who couldn't quite grasp it since they might be in a blinded-by-love-stage. I love how he encourages people to use common sense, which as cliché as it may sound, is really not that common, isn't it?

It was also ideal that he divided the topics by using the break-up scale (from break-up to moving on) with other sub-parts that focuses on certain levels or varying reasons on the said topics. It was all discussed clearly plus he used quotes and letter samples to emphasize a particular issue. Speaking of quotes, I got a handful and I am excited to share them on my Tumblr account so watch out for them! Moving on, I think the book was very truthful and the author's advice are not sugar-coated. It was blunt and straight to the point. It might be painful for others but that's how the truth should be so one could move on as soon as he/she can. All of his advice were things we needed to hear not what we wanted to hear, just in case we are in a heartbroken situation. It feels like he will lend you his shoulder to cry on but you also have to learn the hard way. Basically, Chad Eastham is telling his readers to help yourselves because reading this book will not eliminate your problems in just one snap.

As a pastor, I am not a teenager dealing with a tough relationship or break up, but was interested to see how Eastham would deal with this issue for teens who are struggling in relationships. Within the first few chapters, I was impressed with Eastham's ability to communicate honest and life-empowering truths about being whole people in a style that would relate well with teens. He gives sound instruction that pertains not only to romantic relationships, but also to all relationships. Perhaps what I appreciate the most is the way that Eastham addresses the whole person. He never negates any feelings that teenagers may have, but causes readers to reflect on the reasons behind the feelings. It's like reading a really good life lesson, such as,
"We don't just need the answers to our questions. We need to learn how to find out the answers to our questions." And, "You are not powerless in the whirlwind of life. Until you realize you aren't powerless, however, you will be a victim in every storm in life."
Eastham also weaves powerful quotes from renown people as well as Scripture throughout each chapter that support the overall premise of the chapter in a positive way.

I would recommend this book to the teenager, from about 14 to maybe 19, who often finds themselves consumed with romantic interests and relationships. Or for the teen who has been in a long-term relationship and is about to break up or has recently experienced a break up. For more mature teens who don't seem to get caught in the typical whirlwind of dating drama or are capable of a bit higher level (around a college level) of thinking, this might not be the best fit and a more adult-level book about relationships would probably be more beneficial.

Overall, thank you, Chad Eastham, for writing a well-rounded book that deals the issue of breaking up. Thanks for taking the feelings of teenagers into account and not just dismissing them as people and desires. Your compassion and gentleness is refreshing.

Relationships are a huge part of teenage lives. The way teens deal with relationships can make

or break them for the rest of their lives. So, Chad Eastham has written an epic guide into the

utterly-confusing, emotionally-charged mind of the teenage boy/girl and he has nailed it.
I am not a good fan of self-improvement books, and while, I might not consider this book under

that topic, it was a really good one. The way the author divided the book into parts, and parts into

chapters was a very easy way to follow and I was never lost. I am a teenager, and I will still be for

another couple of years. So, i know that Chad really KNOWS what happens in a teenager's mind,

as I could relate to everything he explained. One thing that I loved was the letters Chad posted of

teenagers who had problems, they were so easy to relate to. It could have been no different if my

name was written at the end of each letter.
Also loved Chad's amazing quotes and cute, smart-ass connections. He connects two absolutely

random things together and threads them into such a meaningful thing. I love a book that I can

benefit from and this book did just that. I won't be the same after reading this and I know that my

actions, ideas, choices, and reactions will be much better in relationships than before. So thank

you, Chad! For showing me such a great guide into my own mind!

I love reading books about relationships, especially books that profess to offer practical advice about them. There are plenty of them out there in the world, but The Truth about Breaking Up, Making Up and Moving On certainly stands out to me.

Craig Eastham does a remarkable job in his book at employing a casual, interesting tone that will completely engage his readers. I was really drawn in as I read, even though there were parts that included scientific terms, because Craig managed to make it all sound interesting and very easy to understand.

While the book is directed towards a younger audience, I certainly felt like anyone could take a few notes from within its pages. I know that I certainly did. I laughed, I frowned, I felt challenged and I felt illuminated – and I think any advice book that can provide that for me is pretty darn effective.

Teens would probably get the most of this self-help book on relationships. Sometimes it helps to read about relationships then be given permission to feel hurt and move on.

As I read it I thought the advice and tips were common sense and easy to understand.
