This book really was an encouagement about what God can do in a persons life, no matter how messed up it is, if they allow Jesus into their heart and in control of their life. It contrasts the darkness of sin and evil that controls people and how freeing salvation is. I read it during my daughter's algebra tutoring session and I could not put it down. It was neat hearing the stories of all the live he has touched with the Gospel of Christ.

I love reading a little book like this with a Big story covering Big truths that need to be explained straight out but without the gratuitous language and minutely descriptive details in regards to the perversive environment that Harold Morris finds himself in through the prison systems as a consequence of his actions.

Read this book in four sittings, couldn't put it down because I wanted to know what happens next. Harold is very honest and upfront about his experience in prison system, the horrors he witnessed and how they are connected with so much of the dysfunction we see in society today .

There are some Big and very relevant themes that Harold had to get over that certainly gave me thought for conviction such as pride, rebellion and that fact God can use us greatly in our weaknesses.
Interesting to quote " that church often shoots the struggler ", a very relevant criticism.

Overall I would recommend this as must read Christian book.

REREAD THIS BOOK OF MINE. I HAD FORGOTTEN WHAT A CRAZY AND UNBELIEVABLE TESTIMONY THE AUTHOR HAD IN THE BOOK THAT SHARES HIS STORIES FROM PRISON AND HOW HE WAS EVENTUALLY PARDONED FOR HIS CRIME. BUT, MORE IMPORTANTLY HE WAS ABLE TO REALIZE THE ULTIMATE PARDON FROM GOD OF HIS SINS. HIS STORY NEVER GETS OLD AND THE IMPLICATIONS FOR ALL AGES IS APPARENT, BUT ESPECIALLY THE YOUNG KIDS AND TEENAGERS. UNFORTUNELY, WE LOST HAROLD BACK IN 2017. BUT WHAT HE DIFFERENCE HE MADE IN SO MANY LIVES WHILE ALIVE.

— Dă-i drumul! Dă-i daimul!
A strigat Danny.
Cum s-a putut întâmpla aşa ceva?”
— A murit? Am întrebai cu. Speriat de răspunsul pe carc-1 voi primi.
— Nu! A răspuns Jack dispreţuitor.

This was one of those books people bought not so much for the pleasure of reading it as in order to support a ministry. Morris had a good cautionary story to share with young people as well as a good testimony to share with prison inmates. He did some stupid things for kicks, in his youth, in the company of "friends" who happily left him to take the blame for even worse things than he'd done, and wound up serving a life sentence. Since there was some reasonable doubt of his guilt and some evidence of his sincere conversion, he was eventually released from prison to testify about the blessed hope of spiritual "pardon," over and above pardon by the governor.

His hardships weren't over when he was pardoned. A relationship with a Christian lady who'd only ever offered spiritual comfort, but he couldn't help hoping, disappointed his hopes--you have to read that chapter. Then he developed cancer. At the end of this book he's prayed for remission. I looked for an update online; didn't find any.

I went in thinking this would be a biography focused on Christian feel-good, but I assumed the wrong attitude. Instead, this is an enlightening but concise biography that focuses first on one man's stumble into a worldly life, then prison.

I appreciated Harold's honesty and focus for the more important pieces of his story. This was a biography I wanted to keep reading every day. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a fuller but shortened story of prison life, and how God invades the space and changes life.

Amazing book. My dad gave this to me as a teenager. I literally red it in two days. I have read this book three times since (I am in my 30’s). Now that my son is a teenager and will be able to handle the parts he talks about in prison, I am going to pass the book down to him. The story gives you so much hope in the miracles that God can do. So worth the read.

This is still incredible strong book about a men who has been able to find Christ in his jail cell and his latere changed life.

However I would like to be able to hear more of his private /family life than only about his ranting of one Bible passage after another.

I also liked his honesty when he was describing his life behind the bars as a twice lifetime sentenced felon.

This is hands down the best testimonial-based book I have ever read. The story of Harold Morris shocked me in surprising ways and there were even parts where it touched my heart deeply. So I feel it deserves this rating.

A heavy read (although he thankfully isn't too descriptive of the horrors he experienced). Eye-opening. An encouraging biography of God's salvation.

A book my Mom had all us kids read when we started the 6th grade.

All it takes is being with the wrong crowd at the wrong time… always remembered her saying that.

This is a powerful testimony of a life changed by God. It is a wonderful story of redemption and second chances. It would make a great read for teenagers/young adults, although would be applicable at any age.
