USA Today Bestselling and Award-winning novelist Bette Lee Crosby's books are "Well-crafted storytelling populated by memorable characters caught up in equally memorable circumstances." - Midwest Book Review

The Seattle Post Intelligencer says Crosby's writing is, "A quirky mix of Southern flair, serious thoughts about important things in life and madcap adventures."

Samantha from Reader's Favorite raves, "Crosby writes the type of book you can’t stop thinking about long after you put it down."

"Storytelling is in my blood," Crosby laughingly admits, "My mom was not a writer, but she was a captivating storyteller, so I find myself using bits and pieces of her voice in most everything I write."

It is so very hard not to get involved in a Bette Lee Crosby book. So when I started reading this series that combined SPARE CHANGE, HOPEFUL AND JUBILEE'S JOURNEY I was completely hooked...line...and sinker. Having 8 grandchildren of my own, I instantly related to Olivia and while I always wanted children, unlike Olivia, I saw a woman with the biggest heart ever. The stories intertwined and you become part of the family.....like all of her friends, including Detective Mahoney. A heartbreaking story....with an ending that will surprise and inspire you. Bette Lee....again, thank you for great stories.

I just love that the character Olivia didn't want to get married because she was intimidated by the prospect of having children clinging to her and now she is raising her husband's grandson, Ethan Allen Doyle, who seems to be quite the handful. Just when she thinks she may be in over her head, Ethan brings home a young girl, Jubilee Jones, and Olivia takes her in as they attempt to find out what happened to her brother and where their Aunt Anita is. I love that Paul has promised that he will take care of his sister and he has also promised his daddy that he will never work in the mines. After their dad passes away, how will they survive? So they set out to find Aunt Anita, but life sometimes is nothing like we expect it to be. This was yet another great story from this series and I can't wait to see the next adventure for Ethan Allen Doyle and Olivia.

Heartwarming , touching, well written series , i fell in love with the characters. You will laugh out loud , cry at the injustice , you will cry along with Jubilee and her big brother when they not only lose one parent but both , their Mom died from the fever and their father to an accident in the coal mines. On a search for their Aunt they go on a sad & scarey journey but along the way Jubilee meets Ethan Allen and Grandma Olivia and of course she does everything within her power to help these children find a home full of love & happiness that begins to mend their broken hearts.. Does she keep the kids , does Aunt Anita take them ?? Read to find out who the children find a loving home with, you wont be disappointed..

There were three stories in this edition of the book. SPARE CHANGE was first, A Home in Hopeful, a special release not sold separately and JUBILEE'S JOURNEY. Jubilee's Journey was my book group's May Buddy read. But I wanted to read Spare Change the first in the series before I read Jubilee's Journey.

I loved all three of the stories. And I know that Bette Lee Crosby is working on another book and has more that I haven't read and I can't wait to read them. Once I find an author I like I want to read their other stuff too. I don't like to give away plot lines or such but I will say I am glad I own this series because I will be reading them again. They gave me that feel good feeling when I finished each one!
