Annie is definitely my type of girl. She’s smart, multi-talented, athletic, independent, witty, and beautiful. She gives her all, especially to those she cares about. However, there is one major dilemma. Annie has a huge problem when it comes to finding love in all the wrong places. Hence the title... Hehe!
After several failed relationships, Annie decides to place an ad on Craigslist in hopes of finding Mr. Right. I do not want to spoil the story by saying who she meets, what happens, if she finds love, etc. because that’s basically what the novel is about. But if I were to choose a song to best describe Annie and the whole online dating situation, I would pick.... Clumsy by Fergie.
I wanted to say that I didn’t like Annie overall when I was done reading. Thoughts going through my head after finishing included: Who does that with a guy she just met online? Is she really going to take him back? And seriously, why did she forgive him? But honestly, I couldn't. I feel that she is realistic as anyone in everyday life. She is young. She is looking for a good time. She wants to be loved, and so she takes action herself in hopes of finding the one. Although she doesn't make the wisest decisions, I have to forgive her. After all, at some point in life we all do stupid things for the sake of love, right? So yeah… I like Annie! It was a delight watching her live, love, and learn.
Overall, I definitely would recommend this book to those looking for a nice short read. This is Aubrey Harte’s debut novel, and I must say I am highly impressed. The story doesn’t have the drama, angst, or smut that I usually crave for. And there were some parts in the novel that I thought were dull. But nonetheless, I enjoyed it. It was entertaining enough to make me not let go of my Kindle. I look forward to reading Ms. Harte’s All The Right Things as well as all her future work.
