This is a must read bondage collection. Each short story in this book is a winner. They can all be hot standalones but when bound together, it’s a five star sizzling book. There are so many different varieties of how people are restrained; it’s fabulous. There are even a couple of non-consensual ones which kicked this erotic book up a notch. This book will gave a taste of several different authors’ writing style. It’s all titillating. Every single one of them helped make this the best collection for this year. It will be hard to top this bondage book.
There are some popular and well known authors as well as a few lesser known ones. It’s really difficult to pick a favourite tale in this book because they are all unique and well written. Each is tightly woven with concise storylines, hot arousing scenes and concluding with a beautiful afterglow. The one to pick for the most surprising and new to me author would be Logan Zachary and his Passion Party Purgatory. This deviant m/m non-con story explores what happens to the husbands who accompany their wives to a Passion Party. It makes one wonder what happens to the wives during the sales pitch.
What is really appealing about this book is the creative ways people are bound. The ones where there is a treat of exposure outside are exhilarating. The reader can feel both the excitement and the anxiety of being caught. One of the bondage ones includes walking through a hotel where others could see their sexy restraints before the Domme and her female submissive retires to a lush hotel room. Each one of these stories will appeal to many reader’s fantasies.
For those who think it’s all about the maledom, think again. This one does include a good share of M/f, yet it covers ménage, M/m, F/f and F/m to my delight. Even better, every orifice is explored willing and deliciously unwillingly. This kinky book is highly recommended to erotic readers who want their senses stimulated and their bondage desires satiated.
Covering a wide array of perspectives, Best Bondage Erotica 2013 surpasses expectations of rote descriptions of different knots, positions, or struggling against one's bonds. The book collects a fantastic selection of short fiction that explores the emotional resonance of having one's physical freedom taken away -- or taking it away from one's partner.
There's a theme running through the book reflective of our age, that of the military and the loss of one's loved one to foreign wars. One talks of a partner about to go off to serve while another has a partner who isn't quite themselves when they return. Both are touching and heartfelt. It's the rare book -- especially one with a central theme of bondage -- that can make my cry or get me horny from page to page.
I read this one from cover to cover. There are no clunkers in the bunch. Each story holds a new, inventive, and exciting adventure. Highly recommended.

I’m never quite sure what to expect when I pick up a BDSM romance book. Some are so sappy with the romance part of the story that the BDSM never seems to hold up as true. It comes off as contrived and shallow, as if the author had never actually tried it but is just imagining what it might be like. Thankfully, these stories have a more “real” feel to them.
In An Introduction to Shibari, the traditional Japanese knots are formed somewhat clumsily by a first-time knot-tier. The Great Outdoors gives a wonderful picture of what sex on a popular biking trail could be like, tied to a fence, heart pounding at the idea of being discovered by approaching cyclists. Plastic Wrap offers up a little kinkier bondage with cling film wrapped around the woman, where she is then spanked while unable to move. Passion Party Purgatory is just plain fun, and probably (unfortunately) fantasy, when a husband “entertains” the men brought to his wife’s passion party.
What I love is that each story is only a few pages, I think the longest is still less than ten. I was able to read during commercial breaks, while my food nuked in the microwave, and a few stories at bedtime. I even put a cover on the book so I could take it to work without questions arising and read during my breaks. These are great little stories by well-known authors and each one is worth picking up the book.
This anthology was AMAZING! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. I can't even begin to say enough good things about it or to pick my favorite story. All aspects of bondage and different types of BDSM play were incorporated and there was a good amount of diversity in regards to the relationships, who is being bound, and the number of players. If anyone asks for a great collection of bondage stories this will be the first I recommend.
I was kinda bored reading these stories. It wasn't the book though, it was all me. I just wasn't in the mood to read erotica but I forced myself anyway. Thankfully I bought this book so I'll have time later on to reread it when I'm in the mood.
Best Bondage Erotica 2013 is more obviously up my alley, and Rachel Kramer Bussel does not disappoint. Graydancer says in a forward that "The bondage is not the point. [...] It's the other bonds in this book that make it more than porn. The bonds of marriage. The ties of duty and the prison of horrific memories associated with military service. The burden of years wearing down relationships, the tight restriction of repressed desires. You find all of these in the book, and it is the mixture of them with the hot bondage that makes the keepers of the cultural status quo squirm." As a geeky emotionally-driven player for whom plot is porn, I say bring it on!
Annabeth Leong's "This Is Me Holding You" does a beautiful job of conveying the emotional significance of rope for kinbaku enthusiasts, while other stories in the collection appeal to the more "tie em up and fuck em" style rope fanatics. Other stories feature handcuffs or more DIY restraint, with first times as well as long-time couples included. I appreciate that the gender and orientation range includes gay male stories, which are often left out of "general" erotica anthologies geared towards female readers. The tone of the stories varies from angry to romantic to melancholy to fun, and I imagine most bondage fans will find at least something they like here.
