Silver Banshee is back--and more dangerous than ever! Given a massive power upgrade by Lex Luthor's archenemies, Silver Banshee's scream rocks Metropolis, and Superman must stop her from destroying his city while also saving her life. Be ready for the shock ending that stabs this series in its heart!
A great ending hook that is wonderfully led up to by some classic Superman content. The main man remains charming as ever, and some of the supporting characters are given a little more to do, strengthening the overall world building that Williamson has started. Exciting until the end, the cliffhanger works perfectly and will hopefully reward the reader in the next entry.
Just can't get into this. I don't think Superman and Action ever recovered after Bendis’ horrendous run, which ironically cut off *the best* Superman/Action runs in over a decade (Rebirth). Bleh. Maybe it's my hate for Jimmy Olsen that made me dislike this issue. Kill him off forever like in BvS 💀 dudes the worst character DC has.
It was fine. (I honestly think my problem with this series is I just hate the art. So much.) But it was interesting to see Jimmy and Siobhan doing their thing, and their backstory. It's fine.
I really did like that Williamson seems to understand how terrible having superhearing you can't turn off would be. I feel like he does more or less get Superman as a character okay, but I don't even feel invested in the plot because it's just... so drawn out feeling. Which is something I feel about a lot of modern comics and I wish that individual issues had more going on a little bit like the older ones. I get keeping the arc going and making money etc, I just feel like there has to be a better middle ground.
It’s been a while since the ending of a comic issue left me with my jaw on the floor. The action with Silver Banshee was just meh, but the conclusion and the way it was so brilliantly set up was amazing to see. Probably my favorite issue of this run so far!
Yesss this was so good. I lived the mundane combined with the superhero stuff. Also always appreciate smart villains. Banshee is so sweet, I really love her and Jimmy together. Lois and Kent are so lovey-dovey, they remind me of me and my boyfriend 😂😂
Jimmy found love with a super-villain which is par for the course. However Superman’s good day is Luther’s very very bad day. Just when he was ready to forgive and move past his ego he is taken down.
A nice step up from previous few issues. Lots of heart, Jimmy actually has an adorable relationship, and...I felt bad for Lex at the end? I'm liking where we're going here.
I have no idea why I stopped reading this series. I kept collecting it, but stopped reading after this one. Maybe I hadn't gotten ahold of the Knight Terrors issues that maybe follow it, or maybe I just got too caught up in other series. Regardless, I want to get back to it for sure after rereading this one.
The art by Jamal Campbell is worth the price alone. It's just phenomenal. Some of my favorite art I've seen in comics so far. I think it's the only reason I'm checking out the Zatanna series that's coming out in a month or so. I really don't need to start another ongoing, but Campbell's work is that good that I'm going to anyway.
For this issue, it's the beginning of a love story between Jimmy Olsen and the Silver Banshee. I'm not really familiar with him beyond knowing he's Superman's pal, and I don't know anything about her, but it was fun to read and see them together. Superman is awesome in this too, and he's a character I'm really only discovering now in my life. I have a feeling I'll really be in to him after the movie comes out in July.
This one ends on quite the cliffhanger, and though I know how comics work, it still left me going,"Oh shit!" So we'll see where that goes.
