I really like this book. It's definitely nice looking back to Phase 1 of the High Republic. I don't want the High Republic to end

I really liked this book. It's a good refresher for Phase 3 of the High Republic. I liked the illustrations and how the writing made me feel like I was a Jedi too so that was cool. Definitely one of my favorite High Republic books.

If you are a high republic fan, this book is a must read! Basically sums up all that happened, specially in phase 1! Gives great details without getting to specific and explains who each character is. The art is also gorgeous and the book as a whole is such great quality 💛

Star Wars: The High Republic: Chronicles of the Jedi: An Illustrated Guide to the Galaxy's Golden Age or as I like to call it the in-universe TL;DR for the entire first phase of the High Republic! It has some interesting art, but the artwork in the The Art of Star Wars: The High Republic – Volume 1 is much better. Still it's a really cool read, and will for sure come in handy for re-reads and to prepare for the third phase, whenever that ends up coming out.

The quality of the writing and art is incredible. It goes incredibly in-depth, covering everything from the books, to the manga, to the VR game. Beyond reading it for its own sake, I would highly recommend this for readers that need a bit of a refresher heading into Phase 3 of The High Republic.

A sweeping, living history book featuring the richest details and artwork of The High Republic Jedi.

As a journalist and historian, Chronicles of the Jedi is the type of Star Wars reference book I've been dying to read - and, hopefully, eventually, write. Written in first person by Jedi Master Harli Cogra, the illustrated history book charts the first two phases of The High Republic through key figures, locales, and events.

It presents a fantastic recap of all the major plot points of The High Republic so far - from the prequel stories of Phase 2 to the Jedi vs. Nihil tragedies during Phase 1. It's also filled with biographical sketches of the Jedi, including the Padawans and Jedi-adjacent characters from the books, comics, and manga.

Most notably, Chronicles of the Jedi is a detailed journey through the major events of Phase 1 - more than 200 years before the events of the Skywalker saga. Instead of the normal "behind the scenes" reference books or visual guides, the book's in-universe perspective makes it a living document, and one that transparently reveals just how much (and how little) the Jedi know about their adversaries and their terrifying new weapons.

Full of spoilers for all of Phase 1, Chronicles of the Jedi is best read after finishing those Phase 1 adult and YA books. But luckily, it doesn't go into as much detail about the events of Phase 2, which just recently concluded after Chronicles of the Jedi's release.

Still, it's a beautifully bound and illustrated book, and perfect for fans of The High Republic era of Star Wars.

So this is awesome.

This is an in-universe book recapping the entire stories of phase 1 of the High Republic publishing initiative. It’s written as a history text, a literal chronicles, created by a Jedi archivist. It’s LOADED with beautiful art, tells the major points of the story arcs, and highlights the major characters.

So cool to have for when I want to relive the high republic without having the time to reread everything.

Only obviously downfall is that it’s limited to its time of real world publication. There are massive stories from Jedi Survivor that are missing that absolutely *wouldn’t* had the timing of real world release dates been in a different order.

Super cool. Would recommend to any Star Wars fan.

This was much more than just a book of illustrations. It dove in depth to the Jedi Order, and it's life and structure during the High Republic.

There were mini biographies of many Jedi. We also got to learn about the early lives of many Jedi that we know from later media. In addition we got to see illustrations of those same Jedi. It really explained a lot about the early Order.

The illustrations were mostly in color, though there were a few in black and white. They were vibrant, interesting and in many cases conveyed a lot in terms of emotion.

If you are a fan of the Jedi, or the history of the High Republic this is a great book.

This was fantastic. It gave a thoughtful and engaging presentation of the High Republic. To be honest I read this like a mission debriefing of all the events that lead up to where we are right now. It was in depth but also readable in a way that I just wanted to keep reading. It was especially useful because it gives all the events from comics to books to audio dramas. As I haven’t been able to read the Adventure comics I’m glad I got to read a brief summary of their story.

Chronicles of the Jedi is a must-read for any fan of the High Republic! Not only is the book gorgeous and incredibly well-made, but it also offers an interesting look into the events of both Phase I and Phase II of the High Republic from the perspective of an in-universe Jedi scholar! There are some beautiful illustrations and a few very small hints at what might happen in Phase III!

Good for an overview or refresher of the first 2 phases of the High Republic, though only from the POV knowledge of the Jedi. Lovely art.
