"Romans 13:14 says, "Clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature." We are not to play around with the flesh. We are not to see how close we can come to temptation and then escape. We are rather to discipline ourselves to stay far away from sexual temptation and, when necessary, to flee. Why? "The spirit is willing, but the body is weak" (Matthew 26:41) ~ Robert Daniels, The War Within, Page 132.
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7). This verse sums up what this book is about. However, the author gives some practical tools for doing this. One of these tools is scripture meditation and memorization. It other words doing what Jesus did when he fasted 40 days and 40 nights in the desert at the beginning of his ministry. He resisted the devil with the Word of God.
We ought to be like Christ and continue in a close relationship with God and then resist the devil, the flesh and the world with the Word of God.
So many strategies found in this book that I cannot go into detail here. Read the book and be on your way to becoming stronger in keeping yourself pure.
