Cut off socially by her friends, Bethany goes kayaking alone through sea caves, with only her bourbon to keep her company. She overturns and is rescued by a kraken who wants his due and insists she call him Master. Things heat up quickly between Bethany and her monstrous companion, even as she comes to find out that he wants more than a quick interlude, and maybe that’s not so bad. Ultra-hot and steamy kraken quickie with size difference and a transformative experience Bethany never sees coming.

I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC of Twisted Desires from Booksprout in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Twisted Desires follows Bethany, a young woman who ventures out on a kayak to Devil’s Island in the aftermath of a friendship group breakdown. After capsizing, Bethany is rescued by none other than a kraken, who may not have the purest of intentions. The novella is a quick to read, fated mates romance that focuses on two souls coming together that have yearned for belonging their whole life.
Usually, I am a massive fan of Faedra Rose’s short stories; I do think that if you are a fan of her work then it is worth giving this one a go, but personally the way that Bethany was represented as a plus size character did not work for me. A lot of the terms and phrases used made me, as a plus sized woman, feel uncomfortable. Others who are plus size may not have the same experience, but for me, there were just so many disrespectful terms that it just did not work. I understand that a lot of it was coming from Bethany and the negative reflections she had on herself, but it was just too much for me.

Faedra Rose will always be one of my top go-to's for a short, steamy read. Continuing in her monster series of stand-alone novellas is Twisted Desires. Just when I think I can't be surprised anymore, in comes a Kraken.... a very sexy one at that!
Bethany the FMC, has some shitty friends. She finds herself alone on All Hallows' Eve after they turned their backs on her, and she decides to not let the night go to waste. Her dangerous plan of kayaking at night turns into something that will forever change her world.
The Kraken, has the upper body of a sexy human male, with the bottom half being made up of 8 tentacles...Pause and let this one sink in 🥵😉 Anyways, he has a goal - find a mate - and he set his mind on who he wants. Bethany has a decision to make, to leave her life behind or move forward with this mysterious creature.
I couldn't put this book down. Faedra gives you enough details upfront to know where the mindset of the main character is. Then you are pulled right into the danger, tension, steam, twists, and turns. I also LOVE that Bethany is a curvy woman. It adds that piece of reality, where readers can relate to the FMC, even with all the fantasy aspects of the story. Another great story by an amazing author.

This is book 4 in the Loving Monsters series, and I have to give credit where credit is due. Let me just say this, I have my issues with tentacles. I only know of three other authors who can write this type of genre, and it does not seem creepy and flesh crawling, and I have to say that I have added Faedra Rose to that list.
Bethany has been stood up, better abandoned by her so-called friends and decide to go kayaking anyway - at night - alone (really, who does that?!?!?) and find herself face to face with none other than the Kraken. His goal is to find a mate, and he has set his sights on Bethany.

And after she gets over her initial shock, Bethany has to face some home truths, but what will she decide to do?
This is a short read, and I gotta say I did enjoy it. I liked the banter between them. And the obvious chemistry. Can’t wait for the next book in the series.

I love the Loving Monsters series and Twisted Desires did not disappoint!! I love this monster trope so much. I didn’t know what I was missing until I found Faedra Rose!!! She writes amazing stories that pull me in and enjoy her books from beginning to the end. The story is was original, spicy and a page turner. I thought the characters were complex and were written beautifully.
I loved Bethany’s stubbornness and fight in this book. She was strong and witty. Kana was determined to find a mate and a little on the scary side. I really enjoyed their banter and spice. It was a beautiful erotic love story.

Wanting to thank her savior she finds herself face to face with a Kraken. He proceeds to give her unimaginable pleasure before deciding she is to be his mate.
Beth is afraid and wants to go home except as she runs through her life she realizes no one is even going to miss her.
She next finds herself so full of the Kraken that when he gives her his venom she finds the transition to be not nearly as terrifying as she had expected.
Now together as Kraken they will find their forever.

Everywoman deserves to find her "monster" that brings out the beast in her. We all should desire to be treasured and fight to find the man that loves us for who we are and not try to make us who they want us to look like, act like and become. I really enjoyed the sexy time but I understood and read into the plot. Most of us have inner demons we are fighting and we all have been in the FMC shoes. We are or have been looking for the man who loves us, cherishes us and down right makes us beg for mercy. I really liked this fast paced pace quick read.

I loved this book. It was such a fun, quick read. Bethany is frustrated at her friends turning their backs on her because of an untrue rumor and half drunkenly decides to kayak on the lake, but overturns when she catches sight of something in the water. The kraken rescues her, but isn't just going to let her go. I really loved Kana. I found him fascinating and liked his personality. Beth's reactions felt plausible in regards to how she viewed her life. I only regret that this book wasn't longer. I would have loved it fleshed out more and definitely want to see what comes after the point where this book ends. 5 stars.

Depraved and Twisted Desires
Bethany has been rejected by her friends and discarded by her family, so decides to go drunken kayaking on Lake Superior on Halloween (totally logical, right?). When she capsizes, she’s rescued by something with tentacles. But it’s not a benevolent good samaritan… This short story is plenty dark and twisty, with a kraken that’s got an agenda and a heroine with her own dark side. I, of course, loved the dark twisty-ness and the spooky horror of it all. The perfect short-spooky-steamy read.

Fast-paced, quick read. Bethany gets left behind on All Hallows' Eve after all her friends leave her so she decides to enjoy the night without them. She goes kayaking at night and something goes wrong. The Kraken wants a mate and has decided that Bethany fits the bill. He's half-man with with bottom half of his body and has 8 tentacles. We have a great adventure with Bethany and Kana It's a really sizzling story. Fun read.

Ms. Faedra left me wanting more!!! Such an incredible short teasing story with so much packed into it I just wish it was longer. Bethany goes out on a solo kayak on all hollows eve in a cave while also drinking. She realizes her mistake when she sees yellow eye staring at her from the water. What happens after you’ll have to read to find out but you won’t be disappointed. A fun very steamy quick read.

I really enjoyed Bethany and Kana. I really admired Bethany's strength, determination and boldness. She found her match in Kana and damn was he sexy. Kana is the hero kracken but was a teacher to Bethany as well. This story was magical, fun and super spicy.

This was waaaay out there but entertaining nonetheless. Short monster love story that had some cray cray parts...like why ol girl get mad and row out in a boat in the middle of the night. Nobody according to her don't care about her enough to know where she at. She got a deadly surprise...well not too deadly...LOL...she got her a monster mate and got a HEA. Hilarious...don't take this one too seriously...straight entertainment.

This is the story of Kanaloa and Bethany, her friends ignore her during a friends Halloween party and decide to go kayaking and then to the caves. When things go wrong and she ends up in the water, she is rescued by Kanaloa. Can a human and a kraken fall in love and be a fated mate? I'll leave that to you to find out. This is a recommended read. great series.

This is the first book of this kind of monster romance I have read and I was intrigued.
I wish it was longer with more detail and background about both of them but I still enjoyed it.

Everything I read from Faedra is always pure smutty perfection, and her newest book is no different! A human and a half kraken-half male was definitely a book I didn't see myself reading this year. But yet here I am, and I loved it!
I only wish this book was longer so that we could dive deeper into the characters and I would of loved to have seen more of their lives together!

I love this series! I’m torn between this and the last book being my favorite. Bethany is kayaking and flips. Only to be saved by the handsome kraken. But he tests her to see if she could be his fated mate. So cute.

This really was a twisted romance and it brought a steamy HEA to a monster ;D Bethany, outcast by her friends over a misunderstanding, goes kayaking alone...with her bourbon ;) Well, as you may expect, she runs into trouble and a kraken, Kana, saves her. What follows is a steamy romance with some surprises, self-image healing and great joy to each of them :D

Faedra does not disappoint in this kraken fated mates story. Beth has no idea what she's getting herself into as she sets out for a solo kayak trip on Lake Superior. Quite a few kinks are squeezed into this short story and things heat up quickly for the latest duo in this series.
