Learning with pictures, is a great way to learn, in a time when the bandwidth was quite limited, I had to learn from books and this is one of those books a beginner would cherish reading. The way the instructions are illustrated is what makes these books unique and unforgettable. I have a good understanding of Excel as a software after reading this book i.e. where to click to get what done. I have read all the Teach Yourself Visually books as far as Software is concerned.

I've used Excel for several years but only for very basic spreadsheets so I decided to increase my knowledge/expertise this year by reading a couple of 'help' books. I learned so many little tricks and 'how to's' in this book. Loved the step by step instructions with the colourful pictures and tips included! I did try another book 'for Dummies' but the lengthy text and lack of pictures was very off-putting. Guess I'm a visual-learner! I'd borrowed this book from my library and learned so much from it that I bought my own copy for reference in the future. Very good basic book!

I was so sick of everyone tell me to "play around" with the options of excel and I would learn it. As a full time student, working part time, and conducting research, I don't have time to "play around." I wish I had read this book before I started college (long ago). Really all high schooler's should know this stuff. Its a great book for the basics of excel, all science majors should have this book. The first two chapters everyone knows, so don't write off the book because of them.
