There’s nothing like a murder to ruin a ski weekend!
Dixie Brubaker, her brother Huxley, and Huxley’s cat-turned-pig familiar Sappho have followed Dixie’s latest vision of a murder, and their missing parents’ journal, to the Pokolski resort in upstate New York.
Where they find a deadly merger of ambition and murder.
The ruthless CEO of a pharmaceutical company that’s under investigation for shoddy products and financial practices has been poisoned. But the usual array of suspects have alibis… except for the dead man’s son. The problem is, Dixie doesn’t believe he did it. Not that the police will listen to her. As usual.
Can they figure out the tricky solution to the murder, or will being trapped in a blizzard with a vengeful killer be too much to survive?
Following another of her vision’s, Dixie, Huxley, & kitty-piggy Sappho head to a lodge in upstate New York. The owners, Laurel, a witch, & her husband Ed were friends of Dixie’s parents & task the trio with solving the murder from Dixie’s vision. The victim was a particularly unpleasant CEO of a pharmaceutical company at the resort with his upper management team. Between his treatment of his underlings & the company’s unethical practices, suspects abound. With a second murder and an approaching blizzard, can the trio solve the case before the killer turns on them?
Meanwhile, a miscommunication between Dixie & Alistair almost derails their potential romance. And Dixie is hiding her visions of hers & Huxley’s deaths from her brother. Dixie realizes she has to trust Alistair with the truth of who she is. And she must figure out what the visions really mean.
A truly twisty mystery that keeps you guessing and delightful main characters. Not to mention the adorable kitty-piggy. Looking forward to the next in the series.

What will Dixie's visions being next? A murder has happened at a ski resort and everyone's a suspect. Can Dixie, Hux and adorable kitty-piggy Sappho solve the mystery in time or will they be next?
Winters cranks up the suspense in this one while retaining the characteristic humor and cozy feel. We learn more clues about their parents journal and the end teases a further snag. Dixie is intrepid as always, Hux is charmingly annoying and Sappho adds an element of snark.
Who will save the day? Read to find out in this well written page turner.
Excellent Series. I Highly Recommend You Read It in Order.
`This is such a fabulous series with the overriding mystery spanning the series about what happened to Dixie and Huxley's parents. Then, there is the new mystery for them to solve in each book along with their familiar, Sappho, who is half pig and half kitty. hence the reference in each title - Kitty Piggy. The who dun its are very satisfying and difficult to predict and the antics of Huxley and Sappho add a lot of the humor.

So much for a break from murder. But Huxley, Dixie and Sappho do get to stay at a ski resort for free. While they investigate a murder. Then a second murder! This was so hard to figure out, and I didn’t! Good thing Dixie is a lot better at this than I would be.
