Bardzo mądra, a do tego pięknie inkluzywna! Wzruszyło mnie, jak często w ilustracjach pojawiał się aparat słuchowy za dziecięcym uszkiem, ot tak, żeby pokazać różnorodność.

I saw this little book when out for the day and thought of our three year old grand daughter, who is exploring language, eager to pick up new words and inquisitive as to their meaning - 'Why?' being one of her favourite words at the moment.
This book takes 100 words and explains them in a very simple, child-friendly way, using examples from within their own understanding of the world and giving scenarios where these words would be used or would describe something.
The illustrations are lovely, not too cutesy and with lots of detail, meaning that they will grow with the child, who will spot more things as their understanding expands.
There is far too little concentration on good language skills these days - doesn't that make me sound SO OLD! - and far too many instances where we allow our children and grandchildren or just children within our sphere to get away with sloppy, bland words. One of our child's teachers in Primary School wouldn't allow her class to use the word nice - "Nice means nothing." - something which seems to have stuck with our family and is also a much-loved family phrase.
It is the responsibility of us all to engender a love of language within our young children because it leads to curiosity, understanding and an enthusiasm for learning.
I would highly recommend this book.

ein ganz tolles, wunderschön illustriertes Buch, das viele Denkanstöße und Gesprächsansätze liefert und für Kinder in verschiedenen Altersstufen geeignet ist. Allerdings mit 200 Seiten das Gegenteil von klein.
Uns macht es Spaß, nach verschiedenen Begriffen zu suchen und durch diese dann in den Austausch zu geraten. Auch komplexe Begriffe, bei denen ich schon Mal ins Straucheln gerate, wenn ich sie erklären soll, werden hier in einfach verständliche Worte gepackt.
