HOW TO WIN AT SCRABBLE

Rate this book
Great Scrabble players are made, not born. First introduced in 1930, Scrabble has become a classic pastime because it simultaneously educates, challenges and entertains, but to get the most out of the game, top players employ a variety of winning strategies, and these are the very best. You'll find the techniques used by champion players to build their vocabularies, tips for the early, middle and endgame, and ways to improve your mental approach. Also included is a list of resources of interest to any Scrabble player, including websites, clubs and leagues, special Scrabble products, and mailing lists. An annotated, move-by-move analysis of the 1999 Championship match final game, which brilliantly illustrates the very techniques described, has also been added. Whether you play Scrabble with friends and family or want to join a competitive club, these strategies will help you increase your scores and enhance your enjoyment of this wonderful game.

As a life-long Scrabble player I did not seriously think I needed to read this book. I picked it up out of curiosity more than anything. However the psychological challenges of playing the game addressed by the author has made all the difference in the world to my attitude and my approach to the game. I highly recommend this book.
